Default Goal Pants!

I'm not sure if anyone else does this, but I started it about two years ago when went through my first successful dieting phase. At my heaviest I was in a size 16, and I bought a pair of size 14's and hung them beside my mirror. Once a weak, i'd try them on until finally, they'd fit. And not just the "I had to lay down on the bed and not breathe out for 30 seconds" kind of fit. I mean the natural kind of fit that made you feel like a million dollars. As soon as I could wear the 14's, I bought 12's and repeated the pattern until I was in a 10. Now, i'm in a very, very snug 12. I'm actually a 14 by now, but i've just got some really worn in 12's that fit "okay". So today, I bought a pair of 12 jeans from American Eagle that were on sale for 19.99. I'm starting over with these jeans Does anyone else have similar mini-goal motivations?

Yep. I saved my old pants that were really cute when I was smaller. I'm waiting til this size gets baggier before I try them on again, because last time I couldn't get them up very far. soon, though!

I like getting into new things. But I could never buy anything wasn't already the right size or very close to it - I just have too terrible a time with most pants not "fitting" well (as opposed to just being big enough).

Oh yeah. I have a pair of jeans I call my "Honeymoon Jeans" I wore them on my honeymoon 18 long years ago. Been hauling them around in a box all this time swearing that "one day" I'd get back in to them. Still can't quite get them over my butt, but getting closer - didn't used to be able to get them past my knees.

Can I skip two sizes? I'm in a loose 14 now and I really want to fit in a size 10 pair of jeans (that's my goal).

Yesssssssss!!!!!!!!

I have kept a pile of jeans that I could not wear when I started my weight loss journey in August. I just went through about 4 pairs of jeans that were so tight, laying on the bed wouldn't have helped any. I tried them on yesterday they all fit...even enough that I would go out in public with them on.

Right now I have 2 prs of shorts and a gown that currently don't fit. They are on the back of my door waiting patiently for me to fit into them. Hopefully they will be perfect by the end of January when I go on my cruise! If not...I know they will still be closer to fitting than they did 3 months ago!

I was going through my closet on Saturday and I realized that most of my pants are goal pants right now!
For some reason I was wearing the same few pairs over and over (I guess subconsciously I knew which ones actually fit).
On Saturday I was looking for some of the stuff I hadn't worn in a while.
A lot of them fit but are really tight, so I'd never wear them in public...just yet, I also came across a pair of jeans that barely fit and that I really liked so my plan is to move through all those pairs of pants get to the jeans and then get rid of all of them because they all are too big for me!

I have a BOX of size 14s and some 12s that don't fit yet that I try on maybe once a week or so to see. I usually pick one pair of pants and once those fit move on to another. I am proud to say the first pair of size 14s I pulled out fit and they are now my everyday jeans! Now onto the rest of the 14s since every pair fits differently!

I woudn't skip, because even though you are a loose 14, and it wouldn't take you much time to get to a 12 (even though it will take a little time), it will seem like forever getting to 10 and it'll be easier for you to give up. The point of going down one size at a time is to accomplish little goals so that you see your results faster and get motivated

Onic, I did that. I have a size 10 pair of black jeans that I bought in NY. I have them hanging by my treadmill to eventually get into. I am now a snug 14, but I am wanting to be a 10-8.

Congrats to everyone!

I have a pair of what I call "10 pound pants". If I lose 10 pounds they will fit perfect!

This past week I tried on a pair of jeans that I wore last about 12 years ago. To my delight they fit!

I had not lost any weight the past week so I had not expected this. The jeans are 3 inches (waist) less than what I was wearing. Cool, huh?
