I've lost 4 pant sizes!

i went from a size 17 to a size 13 :carrot:
the only thing is i only weigh 15lbs lighter, but i look like i've lost i lot more weight than that. Is that normal? It's kind of frustrating but then again i think i'm starting to look pretty good

first of all, congratulations! i'm a newbie here and what you achieved seems lika a dream to me :)

the fact that you lost more inches then actual weight is actually a great thing - it means you lost fat, which is much lighter then muscle, and that is the healthiest way to lose weight.

way to go! :cb:

Be proud that you look slimmer. I have now lost 28 1/2 pounds and I am looking smaller. I don't feel slimmer, but I know that I am because my body is smaller than it was.

:congrat: on the weight loss that is great work. Some times our bodies work in mysterious ways you may have lost only 15lbs as you put it but I bet you have lost plenty of inches.

I often find if the scales are slow in moving the inches are swiftly going which can make you look like you have lost heaps more. I had recently lost 8lbs and people were really convinced that I had misread the scales and lost more. Though I did explain to them that in recent months I had lost nigh on 3" on my waist alone. So my advice is take your body measurements with a tape measure and I think you will be pleasantly suprised how much you are losing in that area as well as the pounds.

That's wonderful! I wouldn't mind the actual pounds if I could lose the inches!

if you've increased physical activity you could be toning...
congratulations!

musubi 11-03-2008 04:37 PM

Congrats!

And to answer your question, I lost 20 pounds and went from a size 6 to a size 1, so I lost more inches than actual pounds, which is BETTER! Sometimes the scale is not the best to judge your progress.
