I did it!
My highest known weight was 299. That was in early 2004. I actually know I was over 300 then but am not sure of the exact number..somewhere in the 3teens I believe.
Today I am officially 249!! That is a 50 lb loss from my known highest weight.
In August 2007 I weighed 286 and had been slowly and not so steadily moving my way down since then. In March of 2008 I weight 277. By August I weighed 268. I got serious about my health changes on 9/1/08, taking steps with diet and exercise to stabilize my non-medicated type 2 diabetes blood sugar levels. And here I am on 10/5/08 at 249. YAY.
I am feeling great about what I've done. I have so much more energy, I feel stronger, my stamina is increasing, my blood sugars are doing really well, I am fitting into clothes again that I haven't fit into in 6 years, my sex drive is coming back, I am no longer a slave to food - esp sugar.
I have at least 69 lbs more to lose and maybe as much as 84 if I end up adjusting my long term goal to fit into the accepted normal weight range for my height. But right now I am basking in the glow of reaching this milestone that I did not know if I could make. I did it. YAY!
I am so happy to have this place to come to, to share struggles and victories, to get and give support.
