Default The scale finally moved!!

My weight usually fluctuates between 217-220 but today I got on the scale and it was down to 216. Yay, I oficially lost a pound! I started my new, strict diet as of last Thursday, so in 4 days I lost a pound. I know it's not much, but I have been STUCK at the weight I was at, even though I had been excercising. So the new diet has made a difference. Yay!

I am just cutting calories, it's my own version of a diet. I'm sticking to approx. 1200 calories on the weekdays and about 1500 on the weekends. I get hungry before meals but otherwise feel good. I'm going to the gym 4 days a week and walking the dog 5 days a week.

Whatever your diet...you may see a quicker drop on the scale if you watch your refined carbs and try to keep them at a minimum. I'm currently doing my own version of Atkins. Staying low carb (but I do have my fruit), don't count calories/carbs or anything like that, but I do stay completely away from sugar, rice, beans, breads, cakes, etc. I started 1/5/08 and so far I've lost 11 lbs., and I have 25lbs to go before I reach my goal (size 4/6)...which is 150lbs for me at 5'9". Hope this helps. Joyce

Thanks... I am relying on being healthy. I don't watch carbs, just calories. A lot of carb heavy foods also have a LOT of fiber, and I'm not willing to cut that out. If i eat healthy and my body is getting everything it needs then the weight loss will fall in place.

That's cool! I know alot of people who do the calorie counting thing and have lost tons and tons of weight! I tried it years ago, but I just couldn't stick to the counting thing...my life is crazy and I just don't have time... but hey..there's more than one way to skin a cat...or be a "skinny cat"...meowww!

Hope all is well....don't forget to exercise!!!smile!

Low sugar,Low grease,Lots of veggies(which contain way more fiber AND vitamins than bready foods) and Lots of exercise seems to work best for me! Unlike a few women I know who would rather not eat than get sweaty,I'm the other way around.I like food too much to not eat and I actually enjoy exercising when I get going!I've lost on average 6-8lbs a month by sticking to 1200 calorie 6days and 1600 calorie on the 7th.I DID notice however that the scale moves alot slower when those calories consist of too many carbs/sugar/grease. But everyone's body is different. Do what works best and Keep up the good work!

Big Congrats!
What diet regimen are you following mamaplots?? R U exercising too??? That's how it goes sometimes...no weight loss for a while and then...BAM!..4 lbs...and I'm sure it's probably fat lbs...great job! Hopefully, you will inspire all the "stallers" out there getting discouraged. I went on Atkins years ago...and the closer I got to my goal...the less weight I loss and the slower I lost it...I would go for 4 weeks with no loss and then...BAM!..5-7 lbs gone!!! Again...GREAT JOB!!!

Congratulations Peachtree, Bambifox, Mamaplots!!!

I've been stalled for 2 weeks and can't wait to chime in when the scale catches up and reflects my efforts!

Way to go ladies!

(bruniQ - doing South Beach Diet & calorie counting with my diet software, working out at least 3 times a week - can't walk the dog due to this terrible rain and snow in the NE - SNOWBALL FIGHT!
