Well... I did it.
I began training in September for my first 5k race as a runner.
Training was tough but has been paying off in several ways. I feel better, energized, people notice the weight loss and I feel good about myself.
My goal for this first race as a runner was to 1) finish the race and 2) finish the race in under an hour. I did both. I went into the race with an anticipated goal time of 54 minutes... I did better. I finished in 48 min and 44 seconds. Happy day!
So, now I want to do more races and have been looking at my next one to participate in. I never thought I would be a runner but it benefits me in more ways than one!!
