Hey all! I actually have my latest mini-goal pics in the post titled "43 pounds gone and still going" (or something like that). But someone in that post made a comment about there being a difference in even losing 10 pounds. I came across these two pics as evidence of that! I am, unfortunately, not as toned as I once was - so these pics are motivation to me for what I CAN do!
Okay, this first pic is to show only a 7 pound loss, but a 5% loss in body weight. This means I put on muscle but lost fat-fat. HUGE difference! And, it goes to show that if you're working out and don't see HUGE losses on the scale, it doesn't mean you aren't still losing weight! That's one reason why I recommend also doing your BF%. My old personal trainer had a nifty machine that measured it.
This next one, I think, is incredible with the difference in ONLY 3 pounds! I was working out heavily with Kettlebells (I've started back up with them) and it's amazing the difference something like that can make in your body shape! I'm thinking about hanging this pic up somewhere to motivate me with the KB's! haha!
Wow, wow, WOW! It's so cool to see the extra visuals - no amount of describing could capture that difference in how much sleeker you look.
You have illustrated why I am trying to focus on my body fat more than my weight. My weight is not that high, but my body fat % is, and that would be the reason that I don't like the way I look and why none of my old clothes fit...
I'll be looking forward to the photos from your next 10, 20 etc. Great job on documenting your progress!!
Holy crap! That's incredible! These pictures are telling me that I really need to invest in a kettlebell and focus more and more on toning!!! What was your routine to get you to that point, if you don't mind me asking?
LondonJulz...Do you mind sharing you weight training/kettle bell routine with us in detail? (Including the weight of the bell)! I would love to do it too! Feel free to PM me if you'd rather!
As far as my workout routine...well, back when I looked like THAT, I was working with a personal trainer who incorporated cardio, weights, kettlebells & crossfit. The kettlebells took up the majority of the time though. We did all different weights. Luckily the gym owned all the kettlebells so I had access to all different weights. Right now, I own a 20 lb. Though if you're just starting out, I'd recommend a 10 lb.
I'm on twitter and follow a few kettlebell instructors, they post videos of kettlebell workouts on youtube. These help immensely as I don't know how to come up with my own workout. I'm not sure what the rules are for posting links here - but if you google kettlebell workouts, you may be able to find some. If you want the website to the gym who posts the workout videos, PM me and I can get it to you. You can also do the same for Crossfit workouts (crossfit is also a lot of fun - we mainly just stood in a circle and for 20 minutes solid we were moving...all kinds of things; jumping jacks, jump rope, burpees, KB's, sit ups, etc)
