Eready2BSkinnyagain - welcome! Most people on this forum are following MRC - some, like myself, are former clients that are doing the program on our own this time, and some are "active" program enrollees. My first time around I lost 80 lbs in 100 days. That was 8? years ago. I have yo-yoed back and forth due to bad eating behavior. I am back to lose 20-25 pounds. This program works for me. I don't know if it is the protein/carb ratio, protein spread throughout the day, or what exactly - but it works. I use this forum for inspiration/motivation and accountability. Tell us a little about yourself!
I am having a good day. I wanted a pumpkin latte soooooo badly today, but put my Syntrax double cookie powder in my coffee with some pumpkin spice stevia drops and....better than a PSL! (at least that is what I am telling myself :)) Feeling strong. Things I am looking forward to that will help me stay on my diet so I feel my best: date night on Friday. I have two little ones (5 and 8) so we don't get out much. Next - City health screening 10/7 (amount I pay for insurance will be less if I meet health targets) and 1 month 30 days left on my personal challenge to lose 20 pounds (only 26 left to go thanks to my breakdown last weekend). Everyone have a great day! |
Welcome Eready! I have been on the program since July 14th and I've lost 25 (actually my scale shows I'm down 2 more, but I haven't officially weighed in). There are times the program seems hard for me, but most of the time I can stick on the plan with no hunger and no cravings. It took me about 2 weeks to get rid of the tiredness feeling and headaches. But I'm much better now. The only products I use are the Healthy Woman Oil, Vitamins and the Protein. Once in a while someone from the center will try to convince me to try something new, but as long as I'm losing, I won't invest in any more product. Maybe when I hit a plateau.
Selway, I love pumpkin spice lattes. I definitely need to look for those stevia drops. I generally use a very small amount of fat free/sugar free french vanilla creamer. Not on plan, but I cannot take my coffee black and the 15 calories don't bother me too much. Leaving for Chicago on Friday for 5 days. Send me good vibes so I can find the strength to stay on plan. |
Got this email from MRC today. Soooo not for me, but others might be interested: (copy/paste)

wurdnerd - thank you for the information about the bars and about the new MRC plan. It will be interesting to see if anyone on this forum signs up for that and shares their experience. I just wasn't sure about the bars - my plans are 8? years old and mention "nutra bars", but I wasn't sure if that was the same type of bar that they offer now or not. It appears to be the same....
It is another beautiful day here in Idaho. I managed to weasel my way into some field work yesterday and was outside all morning, but I am back in the office today. Looking forward to lunch... Everyone have a great day! |
New member using Meat Lovers
Hi all, I started MRC on 9/14 and I am following the Meat Lovers plan and I absolutely LOVE it! It is super easy. Each meal consists of unlimited amounts of protein, 4 oz of cooked vegetable or 8 oz raw and 1 tablespoon of healthy fat. That's it. They recommend 4 HNS drinks but I can only manage 3. Since day 1 I have never been hungry, never had a snack between meals, I have a ton of energy, all of my bloating and yucky feeling tummy problems have completely gone away. This plan is basically along the same lines as Atkins or a Ketogenic diet, or a strict version of Paleo. I love it.
wurdnerd...I see you live in Colorado and think you may attend the same clinic as me because I feel the same way about the over the top excitement they have every time I walk through the door. I like the guy much better, he's very laid back and surprisingly easy to talk to. Best of luck to you all! |
The meat lovers plan sounds great!! I haven't been to the center since getting back from vacation last week- I think my counselor has given up on me :(
I need some motivation big time!!! My counselor keeps pushing the magic 3 pills and when I refuse - she loses interest. Guess those are the only things they get commission on? Guess I'll start again Monday :) Good luck everyone!! |

Garlic-Spinach White Pizza For cauliflower crust: 12oz cauliflower, grated (1/2 large head) 1 medium egg 8oz mozzarella cheese, grated 1 tsp. dried oregano 1 tsp dried basil 1 tsp olive oil Toppings: 4 oz. low-fat ricotta cheese 2 oz. parmesan cheese, shredded 2 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded 8 oz spinach, cooked 4 oz mushrooms, sliced 8oz sliced roma tomatoes 1 Tbsp. minced garlic in ½ tbsp. olive oil Fresh basil to taste Directions: Preheat oven to 400F and line a pizza pan with parchment paper. Grated the cauliflower until you have 12oz. In a microwaveable bowl, cook cauliflower for about 5-6 minutes until soft. Remove and let it cool. Squeeze out excess moisture with a cheese cloth. Return to bowl and mix in the egg, cheese and seasonings. Once combined, pat into pizza pan, about 10 inch round crust. Brush top with olive oil and bake for 15-20 minutes. While the crust is baking blend together ricotta cheese and minced garlic with oil. Once the crust is done, remove pizza and top with ricotta blend, spinach, mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes and fresh basil. Bake for another 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Cut pizza into 4 even slices. Servings: 4 Replaces: 4oz protein and 8oz veggies |
bigdog - I love cauliflower crust pizza! My ratio of cheese to cauliflower was different though. I am going to try yours next to see if it helps make it more like pizza crust. Mine is pretty soft....
losingit681 - I have to tell you, unlimited protein on a day like this sounds awesome! I don't know why I am so hungry today, but I am. I am counting down the minutes until lunch! Glad you like the plan, you will have to keep us posted. So I assume this means no fruit or starch? llarends - I hope your conference is going well! I did my undergraduate in Chicago and it is a great place to visit! I had a great weekend. I ate out on Friday night but watched the portion and ordered as healthy as possible and the scale showed a -0.2 the next morning. Not a huge drop, but at least not a gain! I finished one workout program (P90X3) last week and started Jillian Michael's Bodyshred today. Maybe that is why I am so hungry - she kicked my behind! Even after doing P90X and T25 before that! Everyone have a great day! |
I'm stopping by this pm to pick up the Meat Lovers plan. She said its all meat and veggies for 2 weeks for every meal, then you will get to introduce fruit and carbs. Does sound like Atkins which people love.

Hi, All! I tried starting up again back in July and did good for a couple of weeks. We went on vacation and I continued to do just fine...until my husband decided to be my food police. That was it. I decided to rebel like nobody's business. I love him to death, I know he thought he was helping, but it had the opposite affect. This time around, I'm being very low key about things, not really sharing that I'm doing it, and just doing it. I've been back on plan for three weeks now and have lost 10 pounds! Woohoo!

I hear ya, Jen!!
Hey, Jen!
Welcome back! And congrats on the loss. My DH does that all the time. I just got back from vac recently and trying to get back on plan. I used not tell him but thought - well maybe he'll help. Hah. All of a sudden there's cookies, rolls, chips..... But that's ok- I dont like plain chips or white bread or Oreos :) Hope he doesn't bring home Publix ice cream or I will shoot him! :) What plan are you on? I hate to tell people I'm dieting- they are SOOO annoying. My best work out partners are my fur children- they never have excuses and always ready for a long power walk! QUOTE=JenB72;5205651]Hi, All! Hi, Bigdog! Glad to see a "familiar face" around. I'm back on the green menu. Going well. 2 pounds since Saturday's weigh in so I'm very pumped this afternoon.
Questions I hate getting are "Are you eating on plan today?" or "Do you want pasta or chicken & green beans tonight?" REALLY?! Of course I WANT the pasta, but I need the chicken & green beans. That's like asking an alcoholic do you want a beer or a coke? An addiction is an addiction. It's just working better this time around (so far) with me not making a big deal of it. The struggle is real! |
I read a great quote today: "With addiction, you figure out how to lock the tiger in its cage and keep it there. With an eating disorder, you have to figure out how to open the cage and take the tiger out and walk it three times a day." (author unknown). Rings true for me :(
bigdog - awesome on the Meat Lovers Plan! I can't wait to hear how you like it! JenB72 and bigdog - Yep. The diet "helpers" do more harm than good. I also used to make things hard on myself while dieting. This sounds stupid but I didn't want my family to feel deprived just because I was dieting and bought more treat type foods (ice cream, etc.) than I did on a normal day! As if eating healthier wasn't good/better for all of us.... I am now aware of this and have stopped doing it. :) JenB72 - 10 pounds in 3 weeks?! Awesome! I had a small drop this AM, 0.2 lbs. At least it wasn't a gain. I think I may be retaining some water due to my killer workout yesterday and today. Love Jillian's programs. I hope everyone is having a great day! |
I love that quote, Selway! So true!!!
On the flip side, now I've got Eye of the Tiger going in my head. :boxing: |
