BigDog,
I was wondering, what kind of personal blender do you use? I usually use my frappe maker (the ice crushing frappe setting, without the brew) but it does not chop fruit that well. There are so many on the market I was just curious if you could suggest one. Thanks |
This is just my luck. Got offered a new job yesterday, pays $8/hr more and is almost exactly what I want to do. Accepted offer this morning. Put in my resignation (2 months notice...yes, months) today, had my boss call me tonight to tell me she was sorry about my decision but they had been talking about me for a new position at the hospital...community education. You can probably tell on the boards that I LOOOOOVE educating on health topics. And usually at a hospital they want you to have an RN (because of some other areas usually linked to the dept). So my dream job I've always wanted. Wouldn't pay as much. Bah! But I'm sticking with the original offer. Not just the more money, I think I need to work for a different company for a while. I'm a little jaded with how some of the things have been going. She did leave it open if I was ever interested to make sure to call her...

Also, what is this pumpkin pie recipe someone mentioned before, using spaghetti squash, because I made some of that tonight for dinner but have alot leftover. I have been looking through the recipe thread but cannot find it.
Thanks. |
Galadreal-Here's how I've modified it...this would make a 9inch pan...4 servings (4 oz protein, 4 oz cooked veggie)
1 vanilla pudding supplement (I started just using 1 tsp vanilla extract) 4 oz water 2 c. cottage cheese (I used ricotta...the last batch I used plain greek yogurt and that was nasty...my favorite is ricotta) 16 oz cooked spaghetti squash 2 Tbsp splenda (or other sweetner) 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1 egg Blend in blender until smooth. Cook in 9 inch pie pan at 350 for 1 hr. If you don't make it with the pudding supplement, I like to make up the pudding and put it on top... |
nwcgina, thank you so much. this will be lunch for tomorrow!
Thank you!! |
so frustrated, only lost a pound a week for the last 2 weeks, and I was up a pound the week before that. Grrrrr.
I am not sure if I have hit a plateau or if my fat cells are trying to stage a coup. Yes, I know I went off plan on Monday (3 mile walk, no mood to cook), but I don't see how it could throw me off this much. The girl at my center actually told me yesterday that maybe I should try to get in more exercise. Ok, half an hour 3 times a week is not alot, I know that. But when we started out we were told we had to quit weight training until after we were done, so we just do bellydance and cardio. Too much conflicting information!! |

Hang in there. My weight loss slowed down quite a bit for a while, I hit a plateau around the 200 mark. Have you tried increasing your water intake? It seems like my weight loss slows wwwaaaayyyy down when my water, sleep, or stress aren't right. For the record, I drink about 100-120 oz per day. (Flush the fat!) Maybe all the sweating from the long walk may have made you a bit dehydrated.... I also heard somewhere that when you go off plan it can take up to three days to get out of your system... excess sodium and all that. I know when I go off (i.e. yogurt last weekend) I was back on track by Wednesday... I know what you mean about conflicting information. It's difficult, but you have to remember that every body is different. What works for one might not work for you... it's a discovery about what'll work for you... Good luck! |
Thanks Rachels77! I have been getting between 70-90 oz of water a day, I should probably up that. I am so tired of having to use the facilities once an hour or more.
Stress, what stress. HA HA HA! sorry. Um, with car and cat I feel like someone has turned my brain to jello this week. Honestly I can't tell if I am losing or not, my pants have reached that irritating stage where they keep trying to slide down my butt, but get caught on my tummy (I have strange squishy patches due to a large scar from an emergency apendectomy when I was a kid). So I cannot tell if I am losing or not. Time will tell. |
You are doing great!
Just focus on how you feel... where you have been ... your goal. And you'll get there! I hated to use the bathroom constantly, but it does seem to help with the weight loss. If I'm at the 64 oz (recommended) I can't lose like I should... just a thought for you. Also, I've been known to gain as much as 2.5 pounds in a week with stress and lack of sleep. Hang in there! |

oops, forgot to include the quote from Patzi...she was asking what to mix the Syntrax Chocolate Truffle mix with....
(still training on the Ipad...) I mix with water and ice , frozen strawberries and water, cold coffee and ice, Greek yogurt and berries and water, diet dr pepper, water and ice Doesn't mix well w hot water but if you mix in a little bit of lukewarm liquid you can then add that to your hot coffee or liquid I got the variety pack to sample other favors too. I like the vanilla bean which is really good with frozen strawberries |
