** Did anyone make the cranberry orange relish MRC recipe for T-Day ?? I'm making now and wondered how it was. Says it should sit for 48 hours, but it will just sit overnight.

i mixed my Chocolate Truffle w/ ice and left over decaf. coffee and it was so good!! tasted just like a chocolate shake!!! yum! i bet if mixed w/ diet rite, it would taste like a chocolate ice cream float :-) |
You're very welcome. I have been very happy with that drink (not the fuzzy navel so much sad to say). I think it's a better option than the EAS chocolate powder I have b/c that has more carbs, calories, and fat in it (although it IS much cheaper when you can get a 5 lb bag for around $35-$40). Did you try the coffee drink? If so, hot or cold, and how did it turn out?

Hi all!
I've mostly been hanging out in the maintainers' thread, but I wanted to stop in and say how proud I am of all of you-- getting through the holidays is tough, but you're 1/3 of the way there (Thanksgiving down, now just Christmas and NYE)! :) Also, I just wanted to update anyone who's interested on my maintenance. I started stabilization in May, maintenance in June, and actually have maintained very well--much to my surprise! In fact, I've actually had some additional losses, but I think that's because I upped my exercise a little (doing yoga 2x a week instead of once) and started training about 3 weeks ago for a 5K Turkey Trot race (running 3x/week instead of my regular cardio). I used to hate running. I still don't particularly like or enjoy it, but I absolutely LOVE how proud and successful I feel after each time I run and meet a training goal. I ESPECIALLY loved how I felt after the 5K! 18 months ago, before I started losing weight, I did a 5K walk with a friend and I was miserable--my back, hips, knees, and feet hurt, I was out of breath, sweating like a pig, and really unhappy. Not to mention, we came in dead last--granted, it wasn't a race, but we were the absolute last ones to complete it... like, the escorting cop car that brought up the rear was about 10 feet behind us. :( Yesterday, after 15 months of dieting/maintenance and -86lbs with MRC, I RAN a 5K (I won't lie, I did walk a few short stretches after the hills), and felt GREAT afterwards (and I wasn't last to finish!). Now I'm starting to train for a 10K next spring! :carrot: It just proves that if you can stick with the program and lose the weight, it WILL open up opportunities for you and change your life! Keep it up! I'm rooting for you! PS I attached a pic of me right after the race. I ran it with a high school buddy I haven't seen in 15 years. :) Also, FYI, my number is upside down because it came off when I tried to rip off the bottom portion to give to the official, and I wasn't paying attention when I repinned it, lol. |
Bigdog: my husband is my biggest cheerleader and I couldn't be doing this great with out all his support. Heck, it didn't even register I was going to sign the 30lb board but he knew it right away. I was just worried about the .5lb lol
Patzi: Thanks, I'm really proud of myself. I actually never dreamed I would have lost 30lbs and I'm still plugging along. It's getting easier and I don't crave or really miss anything I'm not eating. Rocki: yup, in the Panhandle. Not too far from Pensacola. I was going to make the cranberry orange relish but really didn't like the idea of raw cranberries...the are too bitter for me. Hope you enjoyed it though. |
Hello ~ I just found this site today and all the recipes I have found will be so helpful! Not really sure how to navigate through all this, but will try! My daughter (16) and I just started MRC Nov 14th. I'm doing pretty good, she is struggling. Any help for her would be wonerful! Thanks

Teacherlady...
Natalie, you look fantastic.. You are another person and I am so happy for you.. As always great to hear from another one on maintenance, as we came up to this almost together... Wishing you the best for the holidays and the New Year.... I am still maintaining well, most of the times 5 pounds under goal. When I gain, right back to the green Meta Slim diet for a few days till scale looks good. Patzi.... |

Didn't gain or lose yesterday, and today is our "real" T-Day meal (Thursday we went out with family but didn't have traditional turkey and T-Day side sides). I'm going to have a tablespoon of the few things I shouldn't have, but will concentrate on the protein and veggies. I'll take my blockers and probably have a bar for dinner (and maybe just do Meta Quik tomorrow). Hope you all have a great weekend.

Great job! You look fantastic :) What an inspiration you are to all of us!!! Please visit this thread often!! |
Bigdog..Question about the chicken broth protein you get from DietDirect. I just had some and it didn't mix well at all. Please tell me how you mix yours. Also, I wanted to tell you I tried the chocolate truffle hot and it didn't mix up at all. It was one big blob. Let me know how it goes if you mix it with a hot drink. I was thinking of trying it mixed with tap water first and then pouring into a hot drink after that.
