The MRC Scale
Hey, I have a question. Since this is my first experience actually going to a center, it's my first experience with the MRC scale (was it called a Fujita scale?- or is that for tornadoes?) Hmm.
In any case, at my initial consult- the scale said I needed to weigh 192. I wanted to weigh 170. Anyone have any info on the scale and if they disagreed with what it wanted your ideal weight to be? |

I think they do this for a couple reasons: 1)it's really hard to estimate how long it will take someone to lose weight when they have such large amounts to lose, and 2) they don't want new clients to see the ideal number they should lose and immediately become discouraged or lose hope. If they had told me "you need to lose 95 pounds!" I might have walked away. Telling me to lose 65 pounds made it seem so much more manageable. I'd love to get to 175 someday, but I want to put this on "pause" and have some babies first. ;) |
