Thanks in advance for any info!!!
I did LAWL several years ago and it is very similar to MRC. Same type of foods (1 starch, 1 protein, etc) program. Instead of the bars between meals, they give you HNS (High nutrient suppliments) that are basically the same as the bars nutritionally but you eat/drink with meals and used as snacks.
I lost alot of weight with LAWL and kept it off for quite a while and our center closed as well. I just started MRC the first of September and will be 1/2 way to goal by the end of the month. A couple of the biggest differences are dairy... no milk, no soft cheese, and lots of eggs. The recipes are better and more abundant with the HNS creamies (you get after the initial couple of weeks) that includes soups, puddings, drink mixes. I liked the bars on LAWL but it was difficult to maintain because it was SO restrictive, I felt deprived of foods. On MRC I have yet to feel deprived and I really like most of the HNS mixes. I am full after eating, my cravings have (for the most part) subsided (there isn't anything that can replace real chocolate)

and I am excited for maintenance.
On LAWL, I couldn't see myself staying 'on program' during maintenance, with MRC, I can definitely see staying on program because the foods are 'more real'. With LAWL, I ate the same thing for 4 months and at the end was tired of the same food so went totally off maintenance. I love MRC (and my husband even likes the food I make) food because it is more creative and 'normal' food. I obviously don't eat out as much on program but even when I do eat out, I am not afraid of crashing my diet because I can eat real food. (I order salads and protein and steamed veggies and eat my starch & HNS before we go so I am not starving and can order correctly).
Hope this helps. I was afraid this too would be LAWL and I would gain all back, but I don't see that happening after almost 6 weeks on the plan. Good luck in your decision. It is really about a lifestyle change... someone said on another thread that on maintenance, she eats 'on program' 90% of the time and can have 10% other stuff and still maintain. I can accept that for a life style change.
