Thumbs down Lost .Frustrated.. Just venting.. Confused

I am not unhappy about my weight loss so far. I am like on day 37 and have lost 22lbs so far. I have not weighed in this week or even gone in to the center due to the fact I dont want to see a gain on the scale.
This week has been so horrible. On Monday morning I ended up with a UTI, so had to go to the Dr. Due to that and the pain involved in peeing, I did not keep up with my water intake. Not even close! I am day 4 on the pills and I dont know if I am getting better. It still feels bad down there.
I have been preparing similar foods for my 4 children, yet using up whats in freezer and such. So the other day I made them tater tots and oh boy before knew it I had out the mayo and ketchup and gobbled 6 down b4 I knew it! I also bought the kids a pizza on Tuesday night and had to try it too!
I have also went out with DH two times this week to the neighborhood Mongolian grill. I dont add noodles, but I did add teriyaki sauce.
I have however walked 5 miles this week, done sit ups everyday.
I would think that even with all the changes I have made, even with the lil pauses in program that I would still have lost at least more weight this week!!!! I am worn out going back and fourth in my head telling myself all the positives and then going well just get back OP! But the scale is not moving so I am getting frustrated. I need to throw the scale out the window, go in and talk to my lady today and stop feeling like all I want to do is cry.
Maybe I am PMSing? Errrr I just wish I had my head in the right place. The first month for me was so easy, and I had no temptations. Oh I should also mention I got off the appetite suppressant thinking it was going to save me money and I also thought it was just a filler and that it really didnt help me. Maybe I should retake it? Drowning in my own thoughts..... ~ Angela

So sorry to hear you are having a rough week Angela!
I definitely hope that you go in and talk to them. Above all - cut yourself some slack! You have had a rough week and you still chose to do some very positive things for yourself (Walking, etc.)
Big "hang in there" hug from me to you.

You and I have quite a bit in common, so, I thought I'd respond. I'm Angela too and I started my weight loss at 314 lbs. I'm at 254 now, so, I've officially lost 60 pounds since August. I did really well in the beginning, 100% OP, but, then started cheating here and there.

Anyway, I don't know if what I have to say will help, but, I'll tell you you're not alone. One of my favorite counselors at my center says it takes about 3 days to get rid of cravings once you've had a slip up. And when I keep giving in to the cravings it just prolongs it. I take Guggl when I'm having cravings to get me over the bump and then quit taking it. It's discouraging to me when I look back that I've wasted so much time trying to lose weight when I keep cheating with little things here and there. And, I feel so much better when I'm eating 100% OP.

You have a different situation than me, I don't have children and my boyfriend is also on program. So, we don't have any off program foods in our house. When we do, that's when I make bad decisions. I'd encourage you to go to the center and get back on track.

I play head games with myself too! Sometimes I give myself a goal, like at 50 lbs I'm going to buy myself a new Ipod. I didn't make a goal for myself for 60 lbs, maybe that's why it took me so long to get here! Right now I have my eye on 100 lbs. lost by the middle of July for my class reunion.

You can do this, remember that!

Um I don't know much about MRC but isn't 22 lbs in 37 days good? That's more than half a pound a day!

Don't beat yourself up- it's taken me over a YEAR to lose 37 lbs... That's just over 2 lbs a month! *faint*

What were you eating before you began this program? Don't let all or nothing thinking ruin the positive changes that you have already made. You were able to stop yourself at 6 tater tots instead of eating a whole plate of them and you walked and did sit ups. See it for what it is, a little slip up during a rough week. Move on and keep up the good work!

Congratulations on losing 22 lbs!

I know the struggle first hand. According to my scale last week, I was up 3lbs. So I didn't go and weigh in. I figured I'm up so what's the point. Starting this week, I was back on program, but still didn't see any loss.

I just decided to go into the center on Wed and face the music. I had chosen to eat off plan. I knew it. I talked to my counselor and she really encouraged me. They switched me to a different menu to try and change things up. I was still dreading weighing in. But when I stepped on the scale, I was only up 1/2 lb. I had made it this big big deal in my head and it wasn't.

Go to the center.. Talk to them. They really have been there and can help. I don't try and take a day all at one time anymore. I try to take each meal at a time. If I slip up at one, I get right back on at the next. We are only human.. It's hard for us "foodees" to not want food..

Wow, a big thank you to all you wonderful ladies! Thanks for the beautiful words of encouragement! I went to the center and I only lost a pound this week, so my average is at 4.5 a week. Thats is awesome, but I guess it was the fact that I went from this major high of losing a lb a day all the way up to day 21.... then to go to 1 lb in a week. So sad that I cant be happy with the fact that I lost and not gained. I know in all reality this is an awesome change for me, because I was really getting up there in my weight. I just wish all the head games would go away! But I have been reading Life is hard food is easy and my gal at the center just said that it is going to be emotional and hard before it gets better. Yes MEEZOOGIRL we are foodies for sure! I think that is one positive note for me is the fact that I have eaten everything and I remember the taste Thats what has gotten me through cutting choc. bunnies in half for the twins and such. I remember that not all Chocolate is created equal LOL!!! NEPENUT WOW you are down 60lbs! How amazing is that!! So if you would can you share with me what size you went from to what size you are now? And if you have a certain recipe op that you love can you share it with me?? HUNTRESS you are so right about the fact that I stopped at 6! And you want to know what else I noticed today? I saw a big bottle of tums in my bathroom that I have no touched since I came op how cool is that!! Beerab thank you for putting my lbs lost into perspective. GINABOB thank you so much for the hug, and allowing me to vent and share my feeling in a safe place as this. I appreciate your support!
So I've done fine OP today.... the worst part will be after dinner tonight, so my goal is to stay OP this week with no pauses and see my true potential. Thanks again ladies for everything

Good for you for going to the center. I bet you feel better now. I had a great week, was 100% OP and then screwed up today with some chocolate. I'll see how that affects my loss tomorrow at WI. I use the cookbook a lot or I used to, now I know those recipes by heart! I'm eating things I never thought I would, like spinach and buffalo. Do you have the cookbook? A couple of our favorites are the Turkey Roll, Turkey Lasegna, that we make with ground buffalo. Also for lunch we love blended cottage cheese with peaches and a vanilla pudding supplement. At dinner we almost always grill something and have a vegetable and a peice of bread. Honestly, I was a picky kid and a somewhat picky adult. I never thought I'd be eating some of things that I actually enjoy. As far as sizes, they haven't changed as much as I'd like, but, I'm down from a 28 pants to a 22. I'd be smaller, but, I have what I call a second stomach. LOL My shirts I can still wear, but, they are obviously quite a bit bigger. I did have to get new underwear! I am a bit frugal, so, try not to buy clothes as I'm changing sizes. I want to wait until I get to goal and get a whole new wardrobe! Good luck, I'm anxious to follow your success.

NEPEANUT... Angela (to cool) So is the cottage cheese recipe in the cook book? I have it. I am upstairs and its the end of my night and the kitchen is closed !!! I also agree with you about eating new things that I never thought I would eat, like buffalo and lamb. I am so excited to try the lasagna and actual recipes because I think this is where the actual longevity in the program will come from. I can eat protein and salads for only so long before I begin to crave an actual HOMEY meal. Thats what I feel I am missing. I want a casserole of some-sort to feel as though I am not on a diet. I have at least 107 lbs more to go and I am in it to win it!
For my 15 lb loss I bought myself a new set of handles for my MICHE bag. ( a cool interchangeable purse)
For my 20lb loss I got a pedicure.
For 30lbs a new MICHE bag cover.
For 40lbs I want to get my hair done.
For 50 lbs I want a new ipod as well.
For 60 well I cant think that far a head yet I am only at 23. LOL
I also hear ya about the new underwear thing. LOL Mine are sliding down fast.
As far as your 2nd stomach are you talking like what I call my FUPA? ha ha ha or butt in front? I have that as well and I am really sticking to stomach exercises and lots of walking. It shrank 4 inches in two weeks !!! I cant wait to get measured again.
Also here in Portland we have a ton of Goodwills and they have great finds in them. I have found tons of Lane Bryant clothes in them. I too wont buy brand new clothes till my goal as well. I have had to find capris that I bought and were back out of them two weeks later when they fell off of me as I went down the stairs! Loved it! So I am in a 24 right now. I did find a pair of 22's I buttoned yesterday, but of course I would not wear in public like that. I was falling out like a muffin on the top.
I am sorry you were lured in by some chocolate today, but was it at least good chocolate? I am also interested in checking in with you to see how you are doing as well. Best wishes... ~ Angela

I love your rewards, I am a purse girl too! The cheesecake thing isn't in the cookbook, but, I got the recipe from my center. I absolutely love the cooking classes they offer because of the different recipes I get. Here it is, try it out and let me know what you think. I use my magic bullet, but, a blender would work fine too.

6 oz of cottage cheese blended, or 4 oz if you get less protein
1 peach diced. I usually use 1/2 c. to measure. I use frozen too.
1 MRC vanilla pudding protein
1 t. lemon juice
2 packets Splenda

Blend cottage cheese in blender or food processor. Add peach, lemon juice and spenda, blend again. Then add pudding and stir. You can each this for lunch and you need 8 ounces of raw veg to go with it. I'm not a lettuce fan, so, I dice up tomatos, peppers, and cucumbers and use my approved italian dressing on it. I make this up the night before and take in my lunch to work a couple times a week.

I have several other recipes from the food class that I'd be willing to scan and email to you if you want to PM me your address.

We'll talk soon!
