Default Gall Bladder Problems

I have been following MRC Diet for 3 months and have lost close to 30 lbs. Had a Gall Bladder attach and have surgery scheduled for next week. I don't think it is my MRC diet that caused the problem - it is relatively low in fat. I did go off plan and had McDonalds for lunch one day - could one day of bad choises be the cause? Supposed to avoid eggs/cheese etc. So guess I am off plan for awhile . Anyone else experience this type of thing?

I haven't had problems with my gallbladder while on this program but with my liver. My enzymes have been extremely high while OP and I'm wondering if it could be due to the diets high protein.

Secretgrl77,

I'm curious if you have been taking the Enhancer supplement. I researched the herbs in it and 2 of them shouldn't be taken over 7 days, one of them can cause liver damage if you do. The center ladies said that nobody has ever had a problem.

I really doubt it had anything to do with high protein, low carb diet. I take MSM, MRC6, Total Woman and Essential Fatty Acids. I think I have been doing bad things to my body for past 40 years and it just happened to catch up with me now. I will see what dr says and follow is protocol....jsut hope it is high protein (lean meats) and veg, fruits etc.

I had to have my gallbladder removed and I was told if you lose weight too quickly you can develop gallstones. That was my problem. It's really not that bad surgery-wise and I was up and moving around within a week with relatively little pain. Once it's out, you'll have to eat low-fat anyway so I viewed it as a good reminder of the long-term lifestyle change I'm trying to accomplish. Best of luck!
