I had a consultation on Saturday morning and have been doing a little online research over the weekend... This site is amazing, it's like a little MRC clique. I am seriously considering joining, but I have some reservations. From what I've gathered, once I officially start the "fat burning" phase, I'll be assigned a color menu. I'm picturing a single list of the two or three items I'll be eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner... the same thing for each meal every day (i.e., daily egg and toast for breakfast, daily chicken salad for lunch, daily fish and veggie for dinner). Is that what this is? Or do you get a list of options for protein, carbs and fat that you can mix and match ~ Six Week Body Makeover-esque, for anyone who may be familiar with that? I'm really nervous because I LOVE salt and soda, and I'm not such a big fan of water or veggies. I just don't want to set myself up to fail. Any info or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

-Hoping that at long last, I will be free!
Welcome.
The menu (what ever the color) is very limited, but the cookbook helps one put meals together so that you are not eating the same thing every day. It's actually a help to be so limited. For me, too many choices means too many chances to make a bad choice. Once you get the chemical balance for fat burning going in your body your appetite decreases and you are not so tempted by other foods. You do have to give up salt and soda, but if you keep doing the same thing as in the past, you will keep getting the same results....overweight. I am using seltzer water for the carbonation when I really want a coke. It only has 10mg of sodium and works for me.
I have been on every diet program known to woman...I can say that MRC works, and it works faster than any of the other programs that I've tried.
MRC is alot of pills and costs alot and the menu is very limited...but it works.
There is a thread on here for newbies...It has alot of great information on it. If you haven't already read it I would encourage you to read it before you join. Good luck with you journey.
Today is my 5th day on the program. We probably would be on the same 200+ menu. The good news, for you, is that you don't eat very many veggies on this menu. Also, on day 5 you can add 16oz diet soda (no sodium, calories or caffine) and starting day 11 you can have up to 32 oz.
Breakfast is a protein and a starch. Starch being one slice of 40 calorie bread or 1/2 a tortilla. I found a 50 calorie tortilla which they said is fine. In addition to eggs, chicken and fish, other proteins are 3 oz of hard cheese, low-fat cottage cheese, steak, roast, pork loin, buffalo, lamb, etc etc. I have been having a cheese quesidilla for breakfast. Not like the ones I used to have of course! Lunch is a protein (6 oz of meat, chicken, fish), a fruit and 4 oz of cooked veg or 8 of raw. Dinner is a protien, starch and vegetable. Tonight I had 6 oz of taco meat, a tortilla and some cauliflower. The first 3 days were a little rough. You also have up to 5 of their supplements which helps and of course lots and lots of water.
You really have to be willing to make the commitment to lose the weight. Good luck and hope you join!
The previous posts are spot on. I would like to add that I to have tried several diet programs and this one has given me the most success. It's expensive but worth it! For the first few weeks I ate the same thing every day but once I became comfortable with the menu I figured out how to vary my meals and experiment with recipes. The recipe thread is AMAZING! Best of luck!
A few of my tips:
* take your pills with water only... it ups your water intake.
*use a straw to drink water.
*eat cooked veggies instead of raw, its fewer veggies.
*definetly use the cookbook. I make big batches and freeze extras for days when I am short on time or don't feel like cooking.
*drink diet rite zero. Its a cola flavored soda with nothing.. no sodium, caffeine, sugar, nothing.
I agree with the others that this is the best program and it works, fast... if you follow it. The way they structure the food stops your cravings after 3 days and there are little tricks to get thru those few days, like having a fiber between meals or snacks when you need a little something extra to get you by. I usually mix my fiber drinks with decaf tea. It adds a berry flavor to anything and most teas compliment it well. My fav is the sugar cookie Celestial Seasonings tea thats out right now for the holidays.
