So I wanted to share a "a-ha!" moment I had the other day. I was looking a my driver's license and realized that my current weight is about 10lbs LESS than what it says on my license! Woo hooo.

Ef4Wife,
That is funny. I am looking forward to the day that my weight more accurately reflects my true weight. My DL weight has been 175 forever. Good thing I never got stopped b4 I started MRC they would not have believed the license was mine!

All,
I just ordered from Diet Direct. 19 boxes of HNS (on sale for 7.99) and a couple of boxes of Hot Cocoa. $139 for 19 boxes. Not to shabby. I used the xmas15 (thanks MSIM) which gave me $15 off. It was 40cents better than if I had used the saveme10. I wish you could use more than one at a time but you can't.

This is only the 2nd time I have ordered via Diet Direct. I would rather support my center but with Xmas coming and tight wallets all around I really needed the discount. Actually last time I ordered a ordered a bunch. Have not bought HNS from my center for about 3 months and they have never said anything. I do buy some supplements and the vitamins and shakes and bars so they don't seem to mind.

WI day, i 'only' lost 0.5 lbs. Thats the lowest loss i have ever had, but i feel so darn good. I dont know, the whole week i am not 'feeling' that i am losing weight, while i am 'feeling' that i am doing OK. It must sound weird. The last couple of 'weightloss' weeks i could feel it when i was going down. Maybe i just hit my first plateau. But i also know that on my usual weigh ins on Wednesdays i hardly loose and then on Saturdays i suddenly drop a couple of lbs. So i should take all of this with a grain of salt.

A funny thing happend to me today:

2 weeks ago, i had lost my drivers license at Chicago airport, so i had gone to the local authorities, got a duplicate ( with my new weight 40 lbs less then last year a HUGE NSV :D ). So today i check my mail and there was a small envelope in it, which contained my old drivers license!!! the only address on the back was a Smilely in this shape --> :)

What do you know!, there are still good people left in this world. Whoever did that, wow my hats of to you and thanks to you :)

I will be ordering from DietDirect on Friday...I really don't need to stock up right now, but it's too good of a deal to pass up right now. Does anyone remember when we signed our contract that it stated that we HAD to buy the HNS's from MRC? If it didn't, then our contract cannot be null and void. I will have to check out mine to see, but I really don't remember if it did. I know each time I go in, they always ask what I need to purchase that day...they make their money off of all their pills and HNS's....we all know that....I just want them to be very interested in our progress and not just the money end of it. Otherwise, I feel like I am dealing with someone who is trying very hard to sell me a car that I don't need. Pushy sales people is a turn off. So far, I haven't had anyone at my center be pushy about selling their products, but then, I have purchased my items from them every month...so we shall see when I start going to do it on line. I do know, my time is up in a couple of weeks, and I am about 50 pounds from their goal they set for me....I have followed the plan to a t, except for this last week due to Thanksgiving and my vacation in October. So I will wait to see what they say when my time is up. I know when I joined, I was told that if I wanted to sign up for 17 more weeks, there was a special of $79 and $99 for 24 weeks.....does anyone want to place bets that that offer is no longer available?

I just want to wish everyone a great month of losing!!! This is a tough month to lose in due to all the Holiday Parties and family get-togethers. All the baked goods and home-made candy!!! The wine at dinner and parties and to bring in the New Year with....it's going to test us each and everyday. So good luck. Let's all support each other more than ever this month and post as often as we can. I think reading our posts will help us stay OP and know there will be "blue sky" ahead. GOOD LUCK MY FRIENDS!!!

I agree and to add to this...don't take on too many commitments (I am reminding myself this), just say "NO, thank you". December flies by and if we say "yes," to everything and don't take out some time for ourselves, we could get run down and struggle with staying OP. I am going to try and post ASAP!! I find everyone's comments so motivating!!

That's very exciting CndLou and thanks for the congrats...
I think that's great motivation to get to your goal :0) It's been an interesting experiment learning to maintain on my own. I've seen mention about a pregnancy maintenance program but my MRC said there was not a plan like this and recommended I just eat sensibly. OK then. So I came up with my own plan. I added an extra carb at my am and pm meal. I added 1 cup of skim milk or yogurt to 2 meals a day. I added an extra fruit as a mid morning snack and finally I added an extra carb with protein (toast with PB or 1 oz of cheese) in the evening before bed. This has worked. I've been able to maintain while sticking with it. If I ever start exercising again, LOL, I will probably add a little more. The OB feels it is safe if I maintain my weight for up to 24 weeks unless it appears the baby is not growing well and then ofcourse I will add more calories. So far so good and I'll keep you all updated as we grow :0)
Karen

That sounds like a great plan, good for you! My teaching partner is on week 33 with her pregnancy. It has been so fun to see her grow!! This is their first baby so I feel like I am learning with her!! :D

LaRee - Don't feel like the time was wasted. You went over Thanksgiving and didn't gain! Thats amazing. Most people in this country gain on that holiday. Good for you for thinking about what you ate and even without your HNS it sounds like you stayed on track to me. Keep your head up and settle back into the routine and you'll be just fine :) Keep checking in...we'll keep you encouraged.

Karen and CndLou - I have a copy of the "breastfeeding" menu. It looks official enough for me. It's a meta-balance menu instead of a meta-slim menu. If you want me to type it all out I will...its quite a bit different than a normal menu...well any that i've seen. I haven't seen the maintenance ones, I bet its closer to those.

Hvnlymzic, that would be great!! If it would be easier for you to fax, I could give you my fax number or email address. Let me know what works for you and thanks for mentioning this!! BTW, I love music...is that what your name stands for??

LOVE IT!! So true, I'm going to copy and paste this one up! BTW, great job on training for your first half marathon!! WhoooHoooo!

OK, so I took the plunge, joined the bandwagon and ordered from Dietdirect.com. I received 13 SALE concentrate items & 1 Hot Cocoa jar for $15.00 off (xmas15) & free shipping, free samples - $103.62!! PLEASE continue to post these great SALE savings!! My 2 cents is...it's a free market, we have choices, and I will always buy the best deal, period!! I will continue to buy from MRC, however if there is a better deal on the products that I like - they get my business. MRC should think about changing their philosophy to: "we will match the competitors price" - that would be a good business move. Then they wouldn't have to worry about losing business to competitive pricing. It's just plain good business sense, right?? :)

That is great:carrot:
I have lied on my license for about 30 years with a weight that has been 30 lbs less than I have been. So I giggled when I read this, because that weight is now my goal weight.
Thanks for the chuckle;)

My center is having a special until Dec. 31. 10 weeks for $79 & 17 wks for $99.
My contract says that I have to have at least 2 HNS @ day (it doesn't say I have to purchase them from the center, but...). I figure I have already voided my contract because I have gone off program twice. What happens when we go against the contract? Do they drop us?:?:

CndLou - Yes...Hvnlymzic is heavenly music...I was (before leaving to stay home with my son) an elementary music teacher and during college I observed a music classroom of deaf and hearing impared students. They 'sang' (i mean no offence putting that in quotes...if you've never heard a deaf choir, it mostly speaking, but wow...amazing) and signed Silent Night for us while we were there and i was in tears by the end. My comment was that it was that their voices were beautiful...like angels from heaven. So I chose this handle online to remind me of what true beauty is and not to get hung up on the selfish and silly common thoughts about beauty that society feeds us. Beauty is a HUGE soapbox for me. I've railed on more than one "skinny" girl for putting herself down.

Anyway....yes CndLou...I'll scan and email the menu to you...just send me a private message with your email or put it here if you'd like...whatever your comfort level is. I don't mind sending menus to people who are already paying for MRC, but I don't really love posting them for free online...know what I mean? Maybe its just me, but I paid ALOT for this and am just a little selfish about my money. :)

LaRee mother of 3 12-03-2009 09:49 AM

OK...I did it. I weighed in last night after missing the past week and a half. It went well and the counselor I had was great! She gave me some positive reinforcement and it helped. I was only down 1 1/2 pounds in the past 14 days but determined to get back on track. I am setting a mini goal for myself this month to hit a 10 pound loss so I pray it goes well. I want to be down a jean size by the first of the year! Good luck to everyone on there December goals!! :)

DITTO on the beauty concept!! Music teacher - that is so awesome!! Our music teacher at school is phenomenal. The students LOVE going to music class! I am touched by your story.."My comment was that it was that their voices were beautiful...like angels from heaven." Beautiful story and great name!! I will try to figure out how to send you a private message and get you my info. Thanks for sharing and I totally understand the "posting for free" thing.
