Anyone else frustrated that it feels like going so SLOW.....

I'm down 14 pounds in 7 weeks...2 pounds/week average I know but this last week it was 1 pound....and I've had plateau weeks...... I'm not exercising as much as I should but otherwise I've been totally on program. Has been a stressful period (as I'm sure I'm not alone in that but I've been so proud that in spite of the other stresses in my life. I just bought the Enhancer today that you take 2 times a day....hated to fork out another $100 but wanted a boost.....anyone else relate?

MrsBenson 11-19-2009 06:58 PM

I understand

I am a newbie - just started 11/1 and I am down 10 pounds. This week I only last 1/2 ound at each WI. I know I need to be exercising more, so that is my plan for the next week. I know if we hang in there, it will start to happen again. I haven't tried the Enhancer, I use the All Day Formula and it seems to help with hunger issues and energy level. Congrats on the success you've had so far!

NotaFatBride 11-19-2009 10:41 PM

Porchmom I know how you feel. I've been losing 2-3 lbs a week and I'm getting a little frustrated too. I asked my center if I was losing at the right rate to reach my wedding dress goal and they didn't seem concerned. The lady noticed that I eat a lot of cheese (snacks and with almost every meal) she said to lay off the cheese and try a different protein. She also said to stop mixing my proteins at dinner. I weigh in on Saturday so hopefully it works. Let me know how the enhancer works for you. I haven't had the cash for the expensive pills and hoped that I wouldn't have to resort to them.

gish24 11-20-2009 09:37 AM

I totally know what you mean! I have been at about 1-2lbs/week. It is very frustrating but I have to keep reminding myself that I am still losing...we are going in the right direction. I am hoping to lose at least another 5lbs by December 11th (Jamaica)...seems like such a small goal but at the rate I have been losing I guess it is a heafty goal :)

3ducksmom 11-20-2009 10:03 AM

I understand where you're coming from as well. I'm down to 2.3 lbs avg/week. It's been frustrating at times. I keep hitting a plateau, think I'm through it and hit another one. I have 1 amazing woman at my center who has all these tricks that have worked for her with other clients. The last plateau, she told me to quit using so much water in my HNS. She told me to try sucking them down straight if I could. She admited she had no idea why, but several people tried it and it worked. I did too and I broke my plateau. This last one, she noticed I'd started on the Phenetrim, my losses slowed after 1 1/2 mos. so I moved to the ADWL and again, about that long, my losses slowed. She said my body may be getting too used to them, so she switched me to the enhancer. I broke that plateau and am down 4 lbs since I started it about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Not bad for me.

Also, another thing I keep telling myself... I did WW before this and their avg. was 2 lbs/week. I was a .5 to 1 lb/wk loser on that plan. At least I'm losing better than I did there. not to mention, I'm losing ALOT more than I was when the scale kept heading north. Frustrating as it may be that we may feel in the turtle group rather than the hare, we'll get there just the same. Keep up the good work and try tweaking things sometimes. You never know what odd little twist will give you a bump!

Thighs Be Gone 11-20-2009 10:07 AM

porchmom, wow girl you are rocking it--your rate doesn't seem slow to me at all! quite good actually--do something to keep yourself motivated--if you have lost a size maybe a new pair of pants--or some new lipstick or something--really, great work..keep it up!

cherry7211 11-20-2009 10:21 AM

yes it feels like im never getting where im going!

leigh34 11-20-2009 08:41 PM

I too struggle with frustrations of slow losing...but have to keep reminding myself -it took me many years to put this weight on and it will take a while to come off. I also think I am losing it faster than I was without MRC so put in perspective I have to pat myself on the back and say keep on going! We can do this - just keep your mind on the end goals!

UknowMe 11-21-2009 06:52 AM

It is very hard to stay motivated when things are moving so slow, then one or two slips off plan and the scales move up 2lbs

desilu0 11-21-2009 10:56 AM

My average weekly weight loss keeps inching down everytime I weigh in with less than 3lbs weight loss. Which, btw I haven't had since the first two weeks I was OP. Same here with the 1/2 lb twice a week. It's discouraging, and unfortunately it's not making me want to stay completeley OP. I keep thinking "Oh, I can slip a little today, I'll still have a weight loss for the week." I'm doing the Meta Quick this week which has left me starving and I don't think I've lost any significant amount of weight apart from what I've usually been losing. Hmmph.

Same here. I stayed OP all week, exercised 3 times and weighed in today expecting at least 2.5 lbs. I was only down 1.5. My consultant said "come on on Wednesday and show a 2.5 loss so you can sign the 40 lb board". I feel so defeated. I can only seem to lose 1.5 or 1 a week anymore...how on earth does she think I can lose 2.5 in 5 days???? ugh. I am so ready to be DONE with this diet.

Roadqueen 11-21-2009 01:59 PM

I can so agree with all of you. I started out great, but have slowed to 1-1/2 lb loss each week. I'm halfway thru the 17 weeks and at this rate there is no way I will meet the goal.
One thing that I'm trying this week is to get back to basics...like when I first started. I'm going to quit using the cookbook, and just keep it simple. Plan to follow the menu EXACTLY. Watch when I eat the cheese and I'll try not diluting the HNS. Another suggestion that I read on one of the threads was to change around what you are eating...If you are repeating the same meals all the time your body adjusts and sometimes giving it different foods will start the loosing process again.
This diet is so specific...Seems that even alittle alteration from the menu can throw one out of fat burning.
Please let this week be better for all of us...

teachingmom 11-21-2009 10:33 PM

I TOTALLY understand. I have been losing only .5-1.5 a week with only one big (6lb) loss at the beginning. I have upped my water and all that they have said. I do have to remind myself that I am losing more than what I would be, but it is still frustrating. One thing that helps is when they measure me. I am losing inches, but not much weight. Guess I shouldn't be so focused on that number on the scale!

NotaFatBride 11-22-2009 01:38 AM

3ducksmom- I'm a former WWer too. Thinking back to my progress on that plan, you're right, I lost .5-1lb a week. That really helped me put it into perspective. I would love to be a 5lb loser every week but that might not be right for my body so I'll take a slow and steady 2-3 lbs.

Interesting fact - you never lose fat cells they only shrink. (I didn't know that) The lady at my center said that as the fat cells shrink they can take on water as a defense mechanism to weight loss.

Check out this link it's an interesting article. It's a fairly new post so I apologize for the repeat if you all have seen it.

I read all your great posts today and felt encouraged. I hope you all are encouraged too that you're not alone....and that we're okay....we're going to get there. I upped my exercise this week so want to see if that helps. Was interested in the post about drinking the HNS straight and that sounds hard to do....but I haven't ruled it out yet. I have heard that losing weight slowly is a healthier way to do it....I just thought this would go quicker...but time to keep walking forward. Let's keep going together!

porchmom84 11-23-2009 10:16 PM

Just a quick update. As I told you I upped my exercise over the week and today at WI I was down 2 pounds. I also started the Enhancer last week so don't know if combo of two or one or the other was the helper.....It was so reassuring to hear something other than .5 pounds! Of course next time who knows.....let's just keep staying the course. I think over time it will all work out.

ButterFly49 11-24-2009 02:59 PM

I seriously thought there was something wrong with me. I've lost 1 lb. per week for 18 weeks & they keep pushing me to loose more. I keep trying but it just doesn't happen. THEY tell me I should loose 2-3 lbs per wk. Ha- that has not happened yet. I do get discouraged :( frequently but I've been keeping a chart of the daily wgt. and can see over the long run - 18 weeks = 18 pounds. They said if I loose 2 lbs before Saturday after Thksgvng I will get a free box of HSN. WOW I want that - as bad as I want to loose the wgt. It will happen when it happens.;)

harlow grey 11-24-2009 06:36 PM

I feel everyone's struggle. I have hit a plateau and I haven't even lost my first 10 lbs (I am .5 away from it.) I exercise 5-6 days a week and vary the exercises (30-60 min,) drink 13-15 glasses of water daily, and have had 1 slip up where I wasn't OP.

I am not trying to get to easily discouraged. It's especially bad for Thanksgiving because I know all of the things I love will be at the family and friends dinner. I want so bad to have a regular meal this Thanksgiving. This is killing me. Before anyone mentions the cookbook, I know all about it but alot of the recipes are not appealing to me. This eating thing and plateau are killing me.

I just try to remind myself that I am doing this for the greater good of being healthy. If you asked me 10 years ago about exercising as much as I do and eating like I currently am, I would have laughed out loud. It's just so dang hard (like everything else in life.) I keep reading the pamphlet on plateaus but it isn't helping me that much.

When I think about it all, I just sigh alot, look at all the money I spent on this program, and drink my water. :dizzy:

NotaFatBride 11-24-2009 10:51 PM

WOOT! Porchmom, excellent!

I'm definitely on a plateau. My weight loss has gone 10 lbs, 6lbs, 4lbs, 3lbs, 3lbs, 2lbs, 0lbs. dun, dun, dun. I've been trying the HNS without water trick since Saturday and so far no luck. I've also laid off the cheese. Today my center suggested starting MRC-6. I guess it's good at flushing out the water that replaces the fat in the fat cells? I'm bummed because my center is offering 2 free weeks added to your plan if you lose weight this week. I still have high hopes for Saturday. That just means I have to be a perfect angel on Thursday. I think it's time to invest in the pills. Maybe I should try to max out my HNS. I've only been taking the minimum.

you might be exercising too much for the amount of calories you take in! if exercising that often is a priority for you, ask about switching to the metabalance menu. that's what i did and i feel 100x better and my weight loss has started up again.

Question: What do you mean that you are not going to dilute the HNS as much? Does adding more water make the HNS weaker?:?:

This is reassuring, porchmom! I'm going to try to up my exercise this next week and see if I can make the 2 lb. mark instead of the same old 1 or 1.5. How much more did you exercise & what type of exercise?

NotaFatBride 11-28-2009 12:50 AM

I officially broke my plateau the day before Thanksgiving (I have excellent timing). I changed up my exercise routine. I'm a stationary bike kinda girl. Instead I did a workout video. That seemed to have helped.

Update

OK just to update...Getting back to the basics worked for me this week. I was down 5lbs this friday at WI. Wooo Hooo!
It was also time for the other scale calculations that they do and measurements. I was feeling really great until I was told that the new calculations showed that my goal weight should be 147, instead of 160.
Has this happened to any one else?

I got in 2 classes that were 60' long (might have been 3 but I think 2). Zumba is a aerobic exercise--low impact mainly the way I do it--some high impact. It's a dancing type of aerobics of sorts....but nothing too technical!

You might want to check with your center. My understanding was 180 minutes of exercise/week MAXIMUM. Sounds like you're doing mroe.

Hvnlymzic 11-29-2009 06:08 PM

I've always put my HNS in 6-8oz of water and have never had issues. Maxing them out is the best plan. I do 5 a day most days. This plan depends on keeping your body burning. In order to do that you have to feed into it. The HNS are great for that. That plus your water are the easiest things to do to keep going strong.

I'm sure that is good advice. I was trying to only do 2 HNS a day because of the cost. But it will cost me more if I don't loose the weight and have to re-up for more weeks.
Starting tomorrow, I will do 5 HNS a day.

NotaFatBride 12-06-2009 01:11 AM

porchmom- Is the enhancer still working well? Is that the MRC-6 or Cortitrim? I was just wondering if you had noticed a difference.

not going to give up 12-06-2009 11:37 AM

Sometimes I wonder if the HNS really does anything to help the weight loss. I lost 6 1/2 pounds and then gained it back. I am down 4 pounds now. I work out at Curves 3 times a week.

What do you guys think?

I for sure get frustrated that it is going slow. I was in WW and it took 6 months to lose 22 pounds. So like the turtle I will just keep on moving slow but sure.

I lost 1.5 pounds Thanksgiving week and went off program for a few days during that time....so it's all so hard to say. I'm still on enhancer and DIM. I've been on MRC-6 but just ran out and it's so expensive so am going to try alternative to that. I'm taking Relacore instead of Cortitrim. When I used Cortitrim I didn't see a difference in tummy fat and that is still challenging....Someone had told me that with pear shaped bodies (which mine is) the tummy comes off last 10-15 pounds...which is where I'm at so IT'S TIME! I've lost some inches there but nothing notable. I also started the bioidentical hormone cream about a week ago so I'm an experiment with a lot of variables that make it hard to pinpoint right now.

Don't know if I've helped or muddied the waters.

scrappyhappyglenda 01-23-2010 01:11 PM

Sorry to hear this. I'm assuming you've talked to MRC counselors about this, tried changing up your foods a bit (eating within program but not eating the same things day in day out), trying to up your exercise, getting all your water, ruled out any medical condition/meds that may be messing with this.....

Helen ready to lose 01-23-2010 02:48 PM

My weight loss has also slowed way down. I am a cheese lover and the consultant told me that though I could have 3 oz a day I should only have it at lunch 3 x a week and the rest of the time have it at breakfast. She also told me to up my water to 80oz as I have 50 pounds to lose.

One big problem I have is that I have been on this plan since the end of December and have never been in ketosis which is supposed to really help with the weight loss. She thinks my chewing too much gum, overusing the butter spray and using listerine mouthwash are all a problem as well as what I listed above.

I am not hungry and don't have cravings. Past diets for me have all been about counting calories so this food combo thing can be frustrating as just an extra bite or piece of gum can throw it all off. I bought the biggest loser food digital food scale and it is REALLY helping. All of you are helping too!

The Cortitrim hasn't worked for me. I've also tried Relacore to no avail. In terms of MRC6--I've been taking something called KLB5 that I ordered online from a place in Paris, Texas. It has the same ingredients as MRC6 except the vitamin B and I take that separate....was trying to cut costs. SO.....having said all that.....I would say I'm confused on whether even the KLB5 makes a big difference or not......sometimes I think so and sometimes I wonder if it matters.....Sorry to muddy the waters....

One of the counselors told me that they have clients that have lost over a 100 pounds taking only the flax and HNS's.

Do you guys find that when you are on your period (and no matter how much water you are drinking) you either don't lose any or gain during that week?

skinnyby25 01-25-2010 01:10 PM

im so frustrated too! i've lost 32.5, but its going so slow for me. i started working out and i drink 4 hns a day. what are some of the things that you all notice that makes it go faster. one of the consultants told me that eating raw veggies helps things go faster and i mostly do that. they have also said that eggs for breakfast are way better than cottage cheese and cheese. any tips you have heard? also when i told my consultant today that i do light weights at the gym she said to make sure not to do too much of that so i guess cardio is best.
