I'm guessing your right about the calories on the MRS...I was just curious. :) You might also try someplace for dinner tonight that has a nice sirlion steak and steamed veggies (provided you haven't already had beef this week) Tell your boyfriend to hang in there with you...you'll both enjoy the end results! ;) |
[QUOTE=Meemo;2286173]My center doesn't even give the option of the Metaquick - they don't think it's a good idea. I think because (1) it's low calorie and (2) they're trying to teach us good eating habits with "real" food as opposed to bars & shakes (might as well be doing Slimfast).
Thanks for the tips! I never thought to add my HNS to the shake. I've been using a hand blender thingy to mix the shake with water and ice...it still just seems so thick to me. But I'll give your idea a try next. And you know - I didn't ask my center about MQ cause I just know they'd tell me no. But since I cheated so badly eariler in the week, having my TOM, and hubby coming home next week - I wanted to give myself every advantage I could! :) Tomorrow is my 3rd and last day....plus I'll go WI too. I broke down and got myself a WII Fit off ebay and it came today! Silly to be so excited about something like that - but I couldn't wait to get it hooked up and "play" on it. Now I really have no excuses for my excersice!! Of course I still may have to fight my kids for time on it.....but I bet I'll win!;) |

Thanks momofboys. He is being very supportive, asking me where I want to go to get out of the house. He said he would just grab dinner before he came over. He is trying. I am just frustrated with being so hungry. I caved again today and ate in between meals. Basically,I at my 4 oz protein and 8 oz raw veg over a 2 hour span. Like you said, I could have done much worse. Plus, TOM comes Sunday so the next two days will be he*l for me. I feel like I am the only one who is hungry. The rest of you keep saying that you are having a hard time getting all of the food in. Ugh. |

Momofboys – I’m going to wi tomorrow too – maybe we’ll run into each other. I’m going to try and go early so I can get a work out in afterwards. Besides, my gym clothes weigh less :D I’m going to the base gym tomorrow, want to join me???? Congratulations on getting the Wii Fit!! I love it – caution with the strength training – it killed me!! We were having so much fun “playing” that we tried everything – very sore for a couple days!!
Shenanigan – hope this catches you in time. You can special order a grilled chicken – with no seasonings – bring your own sea salt and use the pepper at the table. Then steamed broccoli is always a safe bet, and bring your own melba toast and liquid HNS. I just mix it in a half a glass of water – freaks the wait staff out when they can’t remember what you’re drinking! On the shake conversation, I always make mine with some type of flavored soda – get creative and throw in the ice. It’s makes a great milk shake. Starbuck’s is introducing a new “healthy” smoothie today. I read the description & decided to make my own this morning. ¾ cup of water (add half to the bottom of the blender so your HNS doesn’t stick at the bottom), 4 ounces of cottage cheese, 1 capful of chocolate & banana extract, 1 packet of splenda, 2 tsp of instant decafe coffee, double chocolate pudding HNS, and ice. It turned out really good. Yesterday I made a smoothy with hot chocolate – it doesn’t get as thick, even with extra ice. Our center has been out of orange HNS, so I made the pina colda with Peach Manago powder and tangerine diet rite – it was a tropical treat!! Ok, now I’m hungry! And Shannon, I never had any problem eating all the food on my menu - if my stomach is really growling in between meals, I will occasionally grab an extra cheese stick. That used to be my 2pm snack when I started at a really high weight, so I figure it's an OP cheat! Dmkmd27 – you are so close!! Push through my friend. Stabilization & maintenance sounds like heaven right now!! Sandy – thank you so much for the information. I’m sold! I think it would be fun to chart progress from the beginning – that should really keep me motivated. |
Wow there are so many new members with amazing results. I have been OOT for a week. I have not posted in a while but have been reading everyone successes!
I have lost 15lbs and 23 inches. I was totally OP until we went to Omaha last week for vacation and I forgot my HNS along with my mind. I started off so good and then had a slip and then fell down the hill and stayed down. The good news is that I stayed the same when I WI on tuesday. The bad news is I can't seem to get back on track. HELP. I think that this sight keeps me on track and keeps me motivated. You are all great and It is so awsome to have this sight. Do any of you recommend some of the herbs they sell to help with getting back on track. Thanks again. |
WOOHOO to all us loosers!!! Just had to through that out there!!!!;)

I forgot to tell yall when I went to MRC Thursday for WI my counselor asked my why I wanted to lose weight? I asked her when is the last time you felt pretty? When was the last time you looked at your self and said dang I wish someone would take a picture of me right now cuz I look that dang good? Will it has been two years since I felt that good, and today I am starting to feel that way again. I am becoming my old self again.
So my questions to my MRC friends is can you remember when you started to lose weight and you looked up and said dang I look great???? How many pounds down did u say Yes!!!! The hard work is paying off!!! |
Hey everyone! I started a new thread that includes acronyms. Please feel free to add any that you think of!

It seems like approximately 20 grams are necessary to match the protein content of an HNS. Have you figured out what that is in tablespoons or ounces or some other conventional kitchen measurement? It's somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of a scoop, but I was guesstimating. Anyway, I mixed a partial scoop with pink lemonade Crystal Light this evening. It was a little milky, but still tasted like Crystal Light. Oh, and the whey protein is on sale for $13.99 through the end of the month. |
Wow I am really behind on reading. I have been busy sewing I am making a double weding ring quilt for my nephew and his wife> I havbe been sewing ever night instead of being online.

A few questions
Not sure I'm posting this in the right area but, here goes......
How many egg whites can you substitute for a whole egg? I hate the yokes. Is the buffalo that you guys are talking about just regular buffalo? Are there different types with less fat? All I saw at the store tonight had 11 grams of fat in 4 oz.! How could that possibly be used like chicken with that much fat? I remember reading that some of you were eating the Jacobsen's toast. I saw those at the store tonight also. Are they allowed? Has eating them affected your weight loss? One last one....how in the world are we allowed to have low sodium taco seasoning with a TON of sodium in it, but yet you have to have pop with no sodium? Thanks :) Mindi |

I found a new way to use it yesterday - I love chai tea - and found that when I ordered it in an Indian restaurant it came with milk already in it. Decided to give the whey protein a shot in a cup of chai tea - not bad at all. I also tried it today with a couple of tbls of DaVinci sugar free raspberry syrup in 8 oz of water. Also not bad at all. |

2. The 90/10 bison seems to have more fat than other bison. That's probably what you were seeing. This came up awhile back & I don't remember for sure, but I think that someone's center had said to use the 90/10 bison like regular ground beef. I think if it doesn't say 90/10 on the package, it's the lower fat type. I'm no expert & I don't have any in the freezer right now, but check the labels. 3. Some centers have said yes on the Jacobsen's, at least one said no. I don't know why, tho - at 40 calories per piece, it's within the guidelines for bread. I found some too - biggest problem for me is stopping with one piece - it's tasty. Also, there's more nutrition in something like my double fiber 40 calorie bread (and more substance) than in the Jacobsen's. But they're a really nice treat, especially after dinner with a cup of coffee or hot tea. Almost like a cookie. 4. Beats me - possibly because things even out over time & we're a lot more likely to have diet soda every day than taco seasoning. |
Hello everyone. I am working a night shift...and for the last 30 min i have been reading the blogs to keep me from going to the vending machine for chocolate...so glad i know about this blog now because after reading, i was able to get my thoughts away from chocolate and continue on making right choices. thanks
