Donuts:10 miles??? Terrific...just don't grin so big that you get bugs in your teeth!
momofboys: I can just see you out mowing in the dark, using some of our favorite curse words. But hey, at least you got the exercise in!
MrsPhibes: Thanks for sharing the pictures. They were incredible. I lived in Europe for 3 years and remember how awe-inspiring the architecture was, and how incredibly somber all of the WWII sites were as well.
SchoonCR: My son joined MRC three weeks ago. He gets weighed in after his fourth week (which counts the pre-conditioning). On his scale, he is down 12 lbs. His goal is about 50 lbs. He called me yesterday and asked what would happen if he drank a beer. I told him I thought it would mean a slow down in his loss, not to mention if he starts to cheat this soon, it can really be his downfall.
CountryMomma: Sounds like your U-turn did the trick! Congrats on the 5 lb. loss. I think most of us have tried other programs (mine were WW - lifetime member, South Beach, and TOPS). This is the only program where I have consistently lost weight, I think because it is so easy with everything on the food sheet. No counting points, etc.
JSTUCKLY: I'm another one that never loses more than 1.5 lbs at a WI, with an average of just under 2 lbs a week since I started. I've had 3 plateaus, so it does get frustrating at times. Overall, it stays consistent. My inches lost and sizes gone down has been incredible, so I try not to measure everything by the scale.
You also asked about hot flashes. I've been on hormone replacement therapy for several years and was pretty much done with hot flashes. I have noticed there have been more since I started MRC. Not sure why, though. Hope it is the fat burning, like you said.
may06haw: I felt the same way about the supplements. You are paying for their assistance, so don't be shy about asking them for advice on how it all works. Just remember, they will try to sell you everything, so follow some of the suggestions that have been posted. I only use their MRC6 and buy my flax and vitamins at the drug store. The people on this board are very knowledgable, so ask questions here as well.
HAWAIIBOUNDBY40: Sorry to hear about your surgery, but hopefully you will no longer have any pain. Just take the recovery process slow and easy and follow the doctors orders. MRC will be there when you are ready to start up again. Good luck!
tvmitche: What a great quote. And good job on the weight loss. Keep it up.
Another NSV: We spent the weekend in the mountains, and I managed to complete a 2 mile hike at 9,100+ feet with no shortness of breath or whining (which I am really good at doing with anything physical!). My motivator was my 3-1/2 yr old grandson, who with me "lead the way!" I figured if he could do it without whining, I damn well could, too! I WI tomorrow, so will see if this has an impact on my loss this week.
