Thanks, Meemo

Meemo,
Thanks for the great advice.
I've been on MRC for 3 weeks and have lost 10 pounds. I appreciate the cheerleading!
One question. I just joined 3fc today and can't figure out how to add that cute weight loss graphic that I see on so many peoples' posts. Can you explain how to do that?
This looks like a great support site. I want to buy the supplements from some of the other places, as I find them terribly expensive from MRC.

Welcome Meiho! Congrats on your 10lbs! You can't have a ticker until you've been a member for 30 days and have had around 30 posts. You add it under the user cp, then edit signature. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on taking the first step! It's really a wonderful program and this 3FC group is such a good place to come for support! :D

Thanks for the great thread! I can't believe I didn't see it sooner!

What are some of your favorite HNS flavors? I stupidly bought three boxes of the wildberry thinking I would love it, and I gag every time trying to get it all down. It's so bad I literally have to plug my nose now. Also, how much water do you typically mix them with? Thanks!

Hi Tammy--I liked the mixed berry concentrate best. Tastes like cherry koolaid. I usually mix w/ 6-8 oz of water. Ask your center if they have a trade out basket and maybe you can get rid of a few of those wildberries. It's also a good way to try new flavors without committing to an entire box.

LOL - I'm the wrong person to ask - the wildberry passion (the powder) is my favorite!
Peach Mango concentrate is good hot - like an herbal tea. Orange is good hot too, add some cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice or chai spice to it. Very good.
I usually use about 7 oz of water for drinking them cold. More like 12 oz for hot.

I don't like any of the powders....they make me gag too :) I traded all of mine out of our basket at the center. I only drink the concentrates. They taste like kool-aid to me so I don't mind them at all. Plus, I think they are much easier to work with. You don't need a magic bullet or shaker. You can just pour them in your water (4 ozs.) and stir them with a spoon. In a pinch, you can even just drink them right out of the packet. My favs are mixed berry (tastes like cherry kool-aid) and kiwi melon (tastes like a green jolly rancher). The grape is good too. I didn't care for the green tea one though. My mom loves the powders mixed in her magic bullet so we're all different.....try a bunch and see what you like.

That's the key, we're all different! I prefer the powders for some reason, especially mixed with cold water. Didn't much care for the concentrates until I tried them mixed with hot water. I didn't much like the green tea either until I tried it hot - now I like it a lot that way. (I add a bit of Splenda to it too.)
Also try the gelatin, I really like that, especially for a snack.

Will they kick me out??

:?:My Christmas event was TOTALLY bad as far as a diet went. My Mom & Dad live 30 miles from the nearest grocery store on a ranch. So, our meals consisted of beef, beef, and...beef! For 3 days that's all I ate as far as protein goes. The only fresh vegies served were potatoes, corn, more potatoes, but finally there were green beans and salad. I did take my Melba toast, but didn't eat them. I ended up getting pulled into eating my Mom's famous homemade baked rolls. I WAS SO BAD!!!! So, are they going to kick me out of the program and take my money and run? Should I lie on my menu??? I did continue to drink my protein drinks 3 times a day there, and one good thing is I didn't eat anything "fried". When I got on my scale back at home this morning I hadn't gained any weight while out there, so that made me feel good. I guess I'm worried about what they'll say and do to me at the center regarding my membership!

I've been curious, too, as to what are the mixes to maybe stay away from and which are favorites. I guess we all do have different tastes, though. I haven't found one I've absolutely hated. Although, I did not like the vanilla pudding by itself but have used it in recipes. The Lemon Chiffon is REALLY yummy, though, and has more of a smooth consistency. The Peach/Mango is my all-time favorite.

Don't worry, they won't kick you out :) It does void your warranty when you go off program though which really doesn't matter unless you're going to want your money back at the end of your contract if you haven't reached your goal. At my WI today I told them that I ate on Christmas day and got right back on the next day. My consultant said that whatever works to get you through the holidays is ok as long as you get right back on. They are there for encouragement not to punish you. My consultant also asked me to compare how I ate this Christmas to what I ate last year. I said there was no comparison. Last year I would have eaten any cookie, fudge or candy that was placed in front of me from Thanksgiving to New Year's. She then smiled and said that was the important thing.....making better choices. They always seem to have the right thing to say to put things into perspective :)
