Supplements - MRC

Does anyone know what artificial sweetener EXACTLY is in the liquid supplements required by the Metabolic Research Center? I am highly sensitive to Sorbitol/Aspartame. I'm considering joining, and I do know that the supplements are required. All I have heard is that they have aspartame-free supplements, but I want to know what artificial sweetener they DO use. I can't find anything on their Web site. Does anyone know the exact ingredients they use? Thanks ...

It's splenda (sucralose)

Most of their HNS's have aspartame in them at my center. There are a few with Sorbitol. Only one or two with Splenda.

They told me that all the concentrates are made with splenda.

They use splenda.

I, too, have issues with aspertame. I have been using the concentrates and the powders made with splenda, and have had no problems. Unfortunately, most of the creamies all have aspertame, so I can't have those. The pre-made vanilla and chocolate shakes do not, but they are a little more expensive than the other creamies. All in all, it has very much been worth it to join MRC and you can work around the aspertame issue.

HNS is High Nutrient Supplement
Those are the protein drinks that we get.

Other supplements

What other supplements do you all like in addition to the HNS? I'm trying to decide what's worth it when I buy the supplements at my food instruction class.

The ingredients are on the side of the box. I am wondering where the high nutrient comes from.

A flax oil and multivitamin are required (buy them elsewhere, they're much cheaper). They will try to sell you a BUNCH of other things ... some people swear by them, but many people take nothing other than the flax and a vitamin and do just fine. It's all up to personal choice.

Just some hopefully helpful Info. I was looking for the protein drinks online as I am currently not enrolled in the program and I found a cheaper site than diet direct. At familybariatric .com the liquid drinks sell for $7/box and they are Protidiet protein drinks, just like the programs and the shipping is a lot cheaper the more you buy. It is outrageous for just one or 2 boxes but it will save you money. I got 10 boxes 7drinks/box for $82 that includes the shipping!! Hope this helps some people. I love MRC but it can get pricey. :)

I'm new to the forum. i'm going to join MRC in the next weeks or so. I lost about 40lbs when I joined the program before but gained it all back because I quit smoking. I'm ready to join again but I can not have spenda or anything with aspertame. I hope they have something that I can use. I really want to be able to drink the HNS.
