I'll save my drinking for my vacation in July lol, but you can bet that I will have one on my birthday. Do you just drink it as an "extra," or does it replace something? I have to admit slight jealousy that you can actually get a test to find out if your in ketosis...I often wonder because I only smell part of the time!

Andi -
I love barefoot moscato!
My counselor told me I should NOT skip any meals if I drink, but I rationalized in my mind that alcohol = carbs so I only ate 1 serving of veggies that day and I skipped a MF meal. I'm not sure I'd do it the same way again. I've seen a lot bigger successes week-to-week since I've stopped skipping Medifast meals.
I think anyone can buy the Ketosis sticks if you want to keep some on hand to test yourself. I'm not sure where you purchase them, but I've seen mention of home use on this forum.

Which is good because, yeah, I drink a lot. I mean a lot. I'm talking total daily calorific allowance a lot (not really, but trust me...a lot).
But has no effect. Smile. Well, at least beer and wine. Cocktails are a fine line because of the mixers.

Howdy
Ian, I was terrified of Ketosis at first. Mostly because when I tried Atkins about 10 years ago I went into severe Ketosis which kicked me into the 3-week migraine from h-e-l-l. The difference this time is that Medifast keeps your carb intake high enough that you stay in a mild to moderate Ketosis, which has fewer side effects, but still burns fat like a monster!
There was a time when I could never have done this plan. My first 3 years as a teacher I was pink slipped each March. The stress of having to teach for 3 more months in a job that I LOVE knowing I wouldn't be back to do it the following year drove me to tears and drinking daily...

I think we'd be surprised at how many members we'd find in the beer diet thread!
Everyone - thanks for the kind words! I hope everyone is having a great week!!
