So - a few years ago I went vegetarian, I'm almost vegan, and that was a wonderful decision for my health and for moral reasons - and it was a challenge in the beginning, but I could always eat wheat-meat (seitan), tofu, beans, etc. Lost about 30 lbs without counting calories.
That was in response to becoming diabetic. So of course, low-carb works for me, but it can be even more challenging being a low-carb vegetarian (beans are too high in carbs for me - I'm very sensitive).
I went on a liquid protein diet (New Directions, a VLCD). Lost a lot, came off of it in January of this year. My body then went wacko...not BECAUSE of the diet, it's just that the diet had been like an elimination diet, I guess.
So in eating carbs, I had an immediate rebound effect in weight gain. And then I broke out in an itchy rash on my body. Just miserable.
Turns out...I have a gluten allergy! So now I need to eat a low-carb, gluten free vegetarian diet
I think I'll be going back on a liquid diet, but not the doctor-guided VLCD (too expensive with the lab tests constantly). That doctor thought I had scabies and wanted me to "try" coating myself in pesticide a couple of times to see if that would make my "rash" disappear. I'll use my vegan protein supplements, and the new wonderslim aspartame-free puddings, and a green meal daily. So here's to changing my ticker weight, after finishing this paragraph

.
Hang in there all. It's in giving up that we fail. I'm NOT giving up nor giving in!!
