Default A team/group on the Medifast boards

I guess I just need to say this! There is a group/team on the MF boards that preach staying 100% on the 5&1, NO DEVIATIONS! I agree with 100% and that 100% will get you to goal faster and is the best way to go. This group usually goes out in masses and attacks people for eating off plan or slipping. I guess some people need tough love but their approach is quite harassing. They go as far as calling people "selfish" and insult the ones who tell Ok you made a mistake just get back on plan. They refer to the folks being supportive as coddlers. They have run so many people off the boards and made life miserable for so many others. Finally, one of their most offensive team members got officially banned from the boards. Long overdue and well deserved!

Now here is the kicker. They were called out on the fact that they preach 100% but many of the founding members, including the person that was permanently banned and another self proclaimed team captain have had to return to Medifast several times to redo 5/1 to lose regained weight because they cant maintain. Here is a partial response of the self proclaimed team captain who has returned atleast 3 times to do 5/1 because she cant maintain her weight:

"To answer one of your questions, 100% only applies to 5&1 (or 4&2, if that is what you are doing). There is no 100% On Plan in maintenance, because there is NO PLAN. The only rules in maintenance are the ones you make for yourself, unlike 5&1 where it is very clear and precise.

Yes, many Rogues, including myself, have found ourselves back on 5&1 to take back off some pounds regained in maintenance - and that sort of adjustment is PART of maintenance. Is it a failure? That is up to the individual to decide, but what it is NOT, is a violation of our rules."

UMMM....There is a Transition & Maintenance guide and it is pretty clear cut!
What is so hard about it???:
shrug:

Anyway......Just sayin.....

hmmm...THEIR rules???? I guess, they rule THAT team sandbox...start a new sandbox, and just be done with them. Sounds like it is a waste of time and life ticking away to deal with them. Some people just get obsessive and crazy about stuff. You might find interest if you make a kinder, gentler team

Oh, I am not a member of that team! No way!!!! I have heard that many of the new members drop out and just the old founding members hang on. I think being on a team to achieve a goal is great and then we move on. Some folks never lost the jr high school mentality. They post all day long about stupid things like sex (this past monday MF pulled that whole thread) pooping, making fun of people out on the MF boards. Very immature activity and banter....ALL DAY LONG.....They say that they are at work! Sounds like blatant cases of "stealing time" from their employers. I can see a post here and there but ALL DAY LONG!!!

Wow, it seems like there's been some hardcore activity since I last was online with you guys!
Im sad that there were people who were bullying others, Im sure they thought they were doing what they thought was right. But it doesnt mean it IS right.
I am back on my 5&1 plan, after gaining back some of the weight I once lost, and I think its only human that we slip and fall from time to time. No one is perfect.
We all begin somewhere, and every day on the 5&1 (I feel) is a new day to start fresh! Even if you're 100%, 90%, you know what your goals are, and its up to you to stick to it! If you want to remain motivated, and stay focused, there's plenty of ways to do it. And this board is meant as a support for those looking for that support and motivation!

Lets all keep this board as it was intended (I feel) - A safe space for us "fat chicks" (HA) to come for support and to support each other in our own individual lifestyle goals!

Love to all
Crystal

Those folks were not her on the 3Fatchicks board, they were on the board provided by Medifast. So it looks like all is safe here. I heard that that group has disbanned because many of the hardcore MF folks attacking and picking on people that slipped from the plan were in fact NOT following the plan themselves! Talk about hypocrits! I hear from some MF people that frequent the Medifast supplied board that its a much nicer and friendlier place without them. People can talk freely wothout fear of being jumped on by an entire team and literally HARASSED! I guess they got reported too many times and Medifast started to ban some and warn others. Hopefully they will stay gone. People were tired of their brand of behavior.

I slip, I slide, I'm trying hard. My family support is ummm well just let's say my sweet loving husband doesn't quite understand that hershey bars are not allowed. He's wonderful but I have no will power when faced with extreme temptation.

Yes, the m&m is stronger than me.

I belong to both boards and haven't had any harrassment anywhere. Well.......I did have a couple of calorie counters on my case but frankly........I'm 53 years old and my statement of "kiss my slowly shrinking behind" seems to have stopped their opinons.

If we slip.......okay let's be honest here: if we CHOOSE to put something in our mouth that isn't on the program then we stop and start over again. We sometimes need to be held accountable for our actions by other group members but moderation in that is also key.

I'm rambling.

My point is: when I cram m&ms into my mouth.......y'all have the right to say "hey! those are why you're not losing weight and didn't you want to stay on program?" But y'all don't have the right to threaten to burn my stash of Julie Garwood books, or hold one of my grandbabies hostage, or call me names. You may however call me "One Hot Nana"......that name is okay.

Have a great one everyone!

Talking

Those medifast 100%ers are hypocrites. They did whatever it took to get obese and stayed that way long enough to need to get on medifast to get the weight off but now they are perfect. Every one hates those posters at medifast. They are a joke. They, also are the first ones to gain all the weight back because they are black and white thinkers.
They remind me of friendless, scared broken people, who only have friends on the internet

One of the gals on there wrote a blog post basically announcing that she was not going to be reading/posting blogs for a week because she stayed on plan for Thanksgiving and she was sick of reading about all the losers who didn't stay on plan and came to blog about it. Talk about self-righteous weirdo! I mean go ahead and take a week off, but why do you have to write a blog about the fact that you're doing it? **Big "L" on forehead!!**

Sheesh. That's a bit extreme isn't it? Nobody's perfect- not even them apparently lol.

Medifast just added a "Thoughts, Feelings & Behavior Change" forum with an MFT offering advice and support. Here is a quote from him: "Allowing ourselves to be human -imperfect- is a much more realistic, and obtainable approach towards a goal. We can set ourselves up for failure, if we will only accept perfection from ourselves."

I know I struggle with perfectionism, that causes me to get really down on myself about a number things I see as "imperfect" in myself. Demanding 100% adherence to Medifast just seems like an impossible goal ... Yes, I've been completely on plan and I'm feeling good, but I can really only take it one day (or moment) at a time.
