Question Soy based foods and MAOIs

I have sent this question to the Medifast folks but have yet to receive a reply. I am taking an MAOI (Monoamine oxidase inhibitor) for chronic depression. It's an older antidepressant, but works well for me. But there are some dietary restrictions: foods with high concentrations of tyramine. One of these restricted food items is soy sauce and "soy condiments."

Does anyone know if soy as used in the Medifast food products has high tyramine levels? Or is anyone out there on the Medifast diet and also taking MAOIs? If so, what has your experience been?

The simple solution, of course, is to avoid all soy products (and therefore, the Medifast diet), but there is a wide variety of opinions, even from health professionals, about what is and is not safe. For example, red wine used to be a strict no-no, but I read recently that certain Italian red wines contain no tyramine.

Thanks!
