I want to hear about your goals!

  • Hey everyone!

Once we get our tax return I am hoping to start on medifast. Its the perfect time for me to get my baby weight off (I gained alot with my first son.. luckily I lost some with my 2nd son.. but its only been 20 months since my first was born and I was shocked with my weight gain). I have very few cravings, I just took my baby off of nursing and he is now on formula, I am rarely hungry and in all honesty I'd rather drink something than eat. I have already started losing weight just because of how my mentality has been. I want to lose 100lbs although that would be a dream weight for me. At my smallest (losing weight 7 years ago, kept it off until I got pregnant with my first) I was 170lbs and a size 10/12 (never wore a 10, but my 12s got HUGE on me). So my goal is 30lbs under what I was very happy with being... but this seems to be the perfect diet to shoot for the moon with! I have never been a big fan of diets.. when I lsot weight before it wsa because i walked ALL the time and I had started college so my eating was alot more regular than in high school. However, i have two babies under 2. I can't walk for hours at a time... and I cant garantee myself 3 meals a day unless they are unhealthy..(usualy those are whats quick) and I cant stand greasey foods anymore.. I get sick. SO here I am! My mentality is there, my body is ready, I want to get the weight off!!

Now tell me about your goals and your success! Have you reached your goal? Anyone like me trying to lose 100lbs? I want to hear how your progress has been! I am possitive I can keep the weight off (I only gained cause I was pregnant... and I closed my baby shop down so there is no worry about that being an issue now!) and I just want to see how wonderful Medifast has been for you! I am also 25... so if there are any 20somethings out there that are in a similar boat, I wanna hear your stories too!
  • Hi JennLin! I was thinking the same thing when I started Medifast in Dec - that Medifast is perfect for "shooting the moon".

I just turned 29, the last of my twenty-somethings! My goal is to lose 60 lbs - so far I'm down 25 lbs in just 2 months. I'm so happy with Medifast and the results I've gotten with it. I love the convenience of not having to think about what to eat most of the day. And I enjoy most of the food now - the first day I was choking the stuff down wondering what I had gotten myself into, but now I'm a happy camper munching on my honey mustard pretzels or smores bar.

I'm 5 lbs away from the weight I was when I got married and all my clothes are just falling off of me - I've ripped through my tub of "skinny" clothes that I saved over the years - most of it I get to wear once before it's already too loose and baggy on me! My husband is abso-freaking-thrilled with my new body. He never made an issue when I had gained weight, but he's like a kid in a candy store now.

I hope this helps! I can't wait to hear how you like the program and see it work for you!
  • Chickapea, that is awesome! and wonderful for your husband too

My husband has been so wonderful about my weight... even though I gained SO much with my pregnancy, he still thinks I'm beautiful and has been supportive of me. Never once has he suggested I loose weight and when I talk about my goals he reminds me he is attracted to me now and that he loves me no matter what! I love good husbands like that! haha but I am sure he will be thrilled with a smaller version of me. I am anxious to get back in my skinny clothes!
  • Welcome to medifast Jenn. My starting goal was to lose 95lb and go from a size 20 to a size 6. This would be the smallest I have ever been. So far I am down 40lb and 2 sizes. I know that I can go all the way on medifast. It is the easiest and most effective diet plan I've ever been on.

I also have 2 kids. I have a 7 year old and a 13 month old son. I am definately NOT in my 20s anymore. Congratulations on getting your weight under control at such a young age. You will be a wonderful example for your kids.

It might help you to look at the Wonderslim products on dietdirect dot com. They are an alternative to medifast and they cost about 30% less. I switched to them after my first 4 weeks because I have to save every penny.

    Good luck!
  • thanks for the tips lizR!

I did check out the website... it looks like it is comparable, but I will probably just stick with medifast products and see how I do. It is VERY tempting to want to save so much money... and it does seem somewhat comparable to medifast... but from the testimonies it looks like the weight loss might be somewhat slower. However, the wonderslim might be a good option to use when I am on maintenance or if I later gain alittle back and need a refresher.
