Default New to MF/Scared to gain it all back again once I stop

I'm on my 4th day of Medifast and so far so good. I was on Weight Watchers 4 years ago and lost 40 lbs. I quickly gained that back after moving 2 years ago (lots of stress) and my business growing quickly (even more stress). My sister-in-law introduced me to a nutritionist who was also a MF health coach. The plan made a lot of sense to me, but I'm very worried about gaining the weight back once these few months are over.

Anyone keeping their weight off after the MF program for more than 2 years? I'd love to hear from you that its very possible to keep it off once you transition back to regular food.

I think what really sold me on trying this program was seeing the transition booklet. I firmly believe that if you follow it properly it will become a lifestyle change. I went ahead and got the fancy nutrition scale not so much for now since the guide tells you what you can have and I just need to weigh the amounts. But, I am sure it will become really handy when I go into maintenance. It let's you know the major factors(carbs, cal, fat, etc.) of the amount of food you have on it and should help with portion control. I don't want to go through all of this only to rebound once I start "eating in the real world."

I think that ANY diet can lead to potential regaining of weight- the true key is making a change in your lifestyle and realizing that you can NEVER NEVER go back to eating how you did before- I remember a nutritionist saying to me many many years ago (when I was in my 20s and thought I knew everything...) "Jana- this is your disease. Obesity is your "diabetes" and requires you to always treat it, and never forget that you need to do what you need to do to beat it." After many pounds and years later.... many failed attempts and diets- I realized that the key is to change my own head- and choices I make about eating and being active. There are a lot of people on here you have kept the weight off for a long time- just as I am sure that there are many people out there who did the same with weight watchers- but I seriously think that the weight will stay off if we are resigned that we MUST live our lives differently than we did before.

Default Thanks for the advice.

I like the part about it being my disease. I'm so jealous of other people who don't have this problem and can eat all they want. I need to stop doing that and realize they have their "dis-ease" too!
