You on A Diet by Dr. Oz

  • Has anyone read the book You On A Diet? A friend saw it at a store and pointed it out to me, it looks really good! I am just wondering personal experiences and opinions on this book? I like Dr. Oz a lot and I have another one of his books...

Please let me know what you think! THANKS!

  • I grabbed this book from the library but haven't started it yet. Did you read it? What did you think?
  • I own it, its pretty good.. I also own you being beautiful thats a good one too
  • I bought it when it first came out. Read it. Nothing new, some of the info wrong. Didn't like it.
  • I have it!

For me, it was an eye opener because I didn't really know how the body worked, how food worked in the body and all of that.

It was my first realization that I didn't know anything about losing weight, food, and my body.

It didn't make me into a great "dieter" but it did open my eyes to start reading and addressing the fact that I was overweight.

I think you should read it, go to the library if you don't want to commit to buy and see if it gives you any new information.
  • I had it for years. It has great info but could`ve said everything in less than 50 pages instead of that huge book.
  • I am glad that some people are interested in this book, I haven't read it for awhile but I do like a lot of the other books that Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen wrote. I agree, libraries are great!

    Take care, happy reading...
  • Interesting replies.

I haven't read any books by him but Dr. Oz seems like such an odd fellow. He is willing to give his name to ANY supplement it seems like. As recommended by Dr. Oz this as recommended by Dr. Oz that. It is hard for me to take him seriously.

But I have read short articles attributed to him that were fairly good. But he is such a money grabber. I don't know if there is a 'good' Oz: good advice, simple, not endorsing a particular product but good habits. And a 'bad' Oz: I am going to endorse this and that and this and that.
