I am confused as to the % Protein Versus % Carbs versus % fat in a low Carb-High Protein Diet! I am currently doing my own, comparatively low carb and fat -high protein diet, but don't want to go over the hill. I am using www.fitday.com to track % of intake of proteins-carbs-fats.
Protein should be over 60 grams a day that is the minimum i try for 100++ as i do lots of workouts some say your weight in protein?? but to me that is a bit redicilious!! i feel that would definatly put a strain on my kidneys!!! the carbs i go for about 40 - 60 for the day and try not te eat them in one meal, that would stimulate the insulin too much and cause cravings. so if you figure it as 100 grams of protein = 300 cals and 60 grams of carbs = 180 cals the rest comes from fat 1 gram of fat = 9 cals so to make a 1500 cal diet you will take in about 110 grams of fat. As i do not like to take in that much fat i will increase my protein more closer to 120 140 as i have a few cans of tuna a day so if i was to eat 120 in protein that is 360 and 140 is 420
