I had a thought....altho a bit goofy maybe....of how we could all be with Jif and show our love and support. I want to send her a chicken purse!!! I talked to my sis-n-law who is very talented in her decorating and sewing areas and she's agreed to make as many as I want!
So, here's my thought....
I'll send the purse to Peach via snail mail....and....
What if we started a thread with each one of us posting ANYTHING for Jif! It could be famous quotes, loving thoughts, motivation, plain out mushy luv ya stuff, inspirationals....as many as we want as often as we want....Peach could print them out daily and cut them up to be individual "notes" (fortune cookie size), add them to the purse and Jif could have her doc swatting Chicken Purse with her 3fc words right there with her!
What do you think? I just thought it would be a neat way to all be there with her.
It sounds like a good idea.... but I don't know Jiff, nor anything about whatever is going on with her. Unfortunately, I joined the Low Carb Forum after everything happened. I have read the updates, and the posts about the nurses and docs, but I still haven't been able to put it all together. Even though I don't know her situation, she is still in my prayers, as I can sense in all of the posts that she needs prayers right now.
are you sure this is a good idea? Peach will get all covered with paint and will forget to feed the kids and DH will cut down her computer time!
OK, I'm in, but Janice, I hate these things- I am not at all "crafty" and feel so inadequate when it's time to say something inspiring! But I'll think of something, I guess.
Kerei- Jiff, the sis of Peach, is having surgery soon, the stomach bypass thing. She's had some complications recently, and we're just cheering her on from the sidelines! Your wishes will mean alot to her, she's been on and around this board for a while, and helps us when we need science lessons.
So, MamaJ, what are we to do? Give us instructions. Shall we post something mushy here?
Dottie, thanks you for explaining Jiff. Kirie, I am having a hard time putting out information about Jif on the board..it is just hard at this point but Dottie summed it up and Linda had a post on one of this weeks dailies that was accurate too!
But!!!!!! I'll tell you this....She loves jokes!!!!!
Janice, Thanks for doing this...I know that it will cheer her up. She needs cheering up!
SIL is about done with the planning stage and has some great ideas for a truly fun (and deadly~lol) chicken purse. I'll be chatting with her later for more detail! She wants to use real feathers! This should be interesting!
I've asked her if she's willing to make several....I thought Ruth could use a spare....not that she'll have the need to wear her current one out on us!
I'll keep you posted on the time frame....shouldn't be much longer!
Janice
PS~Are you telling us that your sweet little purse is actually a wolf in chick clothing?
SIL called and the CHICKEN PURSES ARE COMPLETE !!!
Bet you guys thought I didn't do it, huh?
They are so cute!! Tho deadly when provoked !!
Feathers and everything.....dainty enough for a lady BUT
beak and talons when crossed!!!!
SIL is bringing finished product over Wednesday and I'll try to have them in the mail Thursday. Hopefully Peach can take Jif hers on Saturday! (I'm going to overnight it)
Hey Peach, do you want me to post a picture of them on Wednesday or wait until you receive them so you'll be "surprised"?
Get those inspirational thoughts flowing fellow chickies cause we're FINALLY ready!!
Janice!
Jiff is gonna love this! She was moved into a nursing home Friday evening and she is very antsy! I think it has something to do with the Alzheimer patients wandering in and out of her room! (no offence to anyone...it is just a reality of where she is!)
Jiff is very determined to get out of there and to get the surgery that she needs and to get her life back. She is breathing better...even having enough air to call and chat. She is bored and restless....which is a good sign. She is learning how to manuever a wheel chair...not an easy thing and she has been doing a bit of walking and not desaturating.
