Somers Plan

  • Anyone ever tried Suzanne Somers food combining plan? It appears to be very lo-carb.
  • Hey Scooby! My kids love you!
I am not too familiar with this plan although I have heard that it is a low carbish food combining plan. I think perhaps there was some talk a while back that it was based on the Montiac Method? Hopefully some smart chick will come along and be able to give you some more info!

Welcome! We are glad that you found us...post often!

  • I tried it briefly, but it required too much thinking for me. My neighbor stuck to it for about a month and lost 7 or 8 pounds. She quite enjoyed it. It's not really considered low carb but a food combining program. You can only eat certain foods with certain other foods and some foods (in their opinion) should not be eaten with others.
BTW, I thought there was a Somers Plan forum. Look in the main menu at 3FC. Unless it's been abandoned. Hmmmm.'
I just checked and there isn't a forum here, but perhaps there is one somewhere else on the web. Try doing a search.
I just did a search using the word "somersizing" and came up with a couple of interesting sites. One of them appears to be a forum where various people are giving their opinions, both positive and negative about this weight loss plan. The other one, which I think you might find useful appears to have an overview of the Somersizing plan, recipes and a forum. Here is the website.

    Hope this helps you.
  • I have a friend who swears by this program, she has lost 45 lbs, I just finishd her book and I think it may be more complicated than I have time for. I think it is back to Carb Addicts for me! Thanks very much for the info, I am going to check out the site!!
