#6 Low Carb Support
---Thought I'd start a new thread, since we were already on 2 pages in the last one...
---Hello everyone. I have to agree with a previous poster who said planning is everything. Planning will be the thing that either gets us to our weight goal, or derails us from it. I'm sick of being derailed, so I will plan every time. ---So far so good on the smoking. I am going to play BINGO tonight, and it is a HUGE habit to smoke while playing. I enjoy smoking while playing BINGO. It is like 2 releases in one. I look forward to it..... Boy am I going to miss it. I will try to make myself sit in the NON-Smoking section, but all my friends sit in the smoking section. What am I going to do. I know that if I sit there in the smoking section, I will surely smoke. AHHHHHHHHH! I want to quit, but I am not ready to. I really wish smoking were beneficial to my health. But it is not. It is especially hard to quit smoking, AND try to quit caffine, AND try to quit carbs. So, I have allowed myself some diet soda whnever my nicottene fits go into overdrive. I'd rather quit smoking first, and worry about caffine later. Sorry for rambling. ---As someone suggested in this group, I am restarting Induction today. A fresh start, no soy to mess me up, and no peanut butter pie with all the hidden carbs. I am getting a little tired of eggs and bacon for breakfast, especially since I am not an egg person to begin with. Hmmmmm. I am going to the grocery store today to load up on steak and chicken, and some cheese and other Atkins authorized foods. Any suggestions...? --- Thanks to everyone for being here whenever we need to vent, brag, mope, cry, laugh, or just "talk". It also is the key to success. You are all wonderful people, and WHEN we all get to our goal, we should schedule an Atkins Losers Festival, or something where we all meet, and do something great like white water rafting. I got the idea from a previous group I was a part of on another board, but I left that to join here... ---Bye Bye everyone... ---------------------------------------------Christy |
Hello All!
Duct tape is ready for any and all who need it! NOBODY LEAVES THE WAGON!!! Here we are on #6 already!!! How wonderful!! I am off to work and just wanted to check in real quick. I have read all your posts and they inspire me as always. Some of us have a longer road to travel before reaching our goal........but we will all get there if we try! Success is up to each one of us...but we can certainly count on help from this group as we continue on the journey! I will check in with EACH of you next time as I GOTTA GET TO WORK!!!! (Got my water, tuna and veggie ready to go!) I must stay prepared! (Can't build a house without the right tools!) Have a great day! :o  |
I have lost!!!!!!!!
YES, YES, YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE Hallo everyone. I weighed myself last night on my friend electronic scale and I have lost 6.6lbs since the last time I weighed myself on her scale (1½ weeks ago) I started with Atkins last Thursday that means in a weeks time I have lost 6.6lb’s My weight now is 208lbs  I am so excited and motivated to go on. I have set a goal for myself to be 132lb’s next year on my birthday (12 May) do you think it’ possible? That means I must loose 84lbs in total. My electronic scale is still not showing any lost, so I am going to put it aside and only use my old scale. Last night was okay. I told her but she is not showing any emotions I think she doesn’t want to encourage met because she does not believe it is a healthy way of eating…. Well, I am going to continue and show them all that I can do it and I am going to do it. With all the support I am getting on this thread I think the journey is going to be a breeze. Sue – I am a buyer for a big company in South Africa, some days I enjoy my work and some days I don’t, but I guess that is life. If you say I must drink 5 to 6 litters water a day do you really mean it. Currently I am consuming about 3½ litter’s water a day and I don’t think I can drink any more. I guess I will try……. Joanne – well done in resisting that fudge that’s the spirit! I agree with everything that you said we are living in a world full of CARBS (easy food – breads, pies, cookies ect.... Our ancestors did live a much healthier life without all the extra stuff… I am going to limit the carbs.. for REALLY special occasions and then have a limited amount. All of you who are trying to quit smoking I am thinking of you. GOOD LUCK. Must go, will check in later. :dizzy: |
Well, I did it. I went to BINGO, and didn't smoke a single one. I am very proud. The urge to light up was SOOOOOOO strong, but I promised myself I was quitting for good... and if you can't keep a promise to yourself, then something is really wrong. My self promise is the ONLY thing that kept my urge from overpowering my desire to quit. I now know that I am done with smokes for good. Ahhhh. I can finally exhale.
Just wanted all to know. Sorry to be so short, but it is VERY late, and I must sleep. Oh, and GREAT news Hensa! That is so AWESOME! Keep it up. You are officially on your way. Start dreaming of tiny clothes, and fitted shirts! Are you a native of S. Africa? Christy |
Good evening!
First, to all you Nonsmokers-to-be . . . YES!!! Your body will thank you, your family will thank you, and I, and all the other nonsmokers who have been sucking up your second-hand smoke, thank you! (Sincerely - not be sarcastic in the least.) Please send some of your willpower vibes this way. Hubby is trying to quit (for about the 15th time). Sue -- Nope, hubby (John) does not have a clone. He does, however, have a twin brother. Of course, he's happily married (the goods ones usually are (or gay)) and he and his wife just had twin girls 2 months ago. :) Kirei -- Do you have a Shop 'n Save grocery store near you? Our local store has recently renovated and brought itself into the 21st century. They have two complete aisle of "natural" foods. That includes an entire section of bins where you can buy organic items in bulk. One of these items is soy flour (an item I've been trying to locate for over 6 weeks). This can be used in place of Atkins Baking Mix (which is VERY expensive) for just a gram or two more of carbs. Our local store is selling it for $1.59 a pound. I'll be trying some out on the Atkins Protein Bread this weekend (unless we get another heat wave). In the mean time, I've been using 13 grams of my allotted 25 daily grams on a piece of wheat toast with 3 slices of American or sharp cheddar cheese for breakfast. It's actually very filling. Washed down with some herbal tea or decaf coffee it makes a quick meal that I can take to work. (Although I can't wait until they finish installing the cafeteria at our new location. I do miss the chef's omelets and fresh bacon. :( ) Has anyone tried the Super Dieters Tea as a source of relief from constipation? WARNING! One tea bag makes TWO cups of tea and you shouldn't let it steep for more than 3 minutes. I forgot this (I had read the directions) and made one cup and let it sit for about 7 minutes while I talked to hubby. :( Then I drank it and went to bed. I spent the next day running for the bathroom everytime I put anything in my stomach. It all just went right through me! Seriously, this is a great, natural way to relieve constipation (and it tastes good hot or iced). Just remember to follow the directions! :o Gotta go. It's 9:45 here and time to make sure everyone is asleep. |
Just one more thing . . .
What's with all the notes about DUCT TAPE? :?: I tried rereading some of the past posts but can't quite figure it out. Anyone care to explain to a very confused group member? |
Dduct tape is the handymans cure all for everything it is very strong and most everything can be repaired with duct tape. it has been used to hold cars toghther, and repairs many pipes. well with it being so sticky and strong we felt that it would be great to hold loose buts to the wagon:D hense the duct tape threats:lol:  I laughed when i saw yor post on the tea, what a moving experience. OOPPPs did not mean to make a sick punn (still giggling)
Hensa great news. stick to your guns about the diet. the proof is in the blood. i have had such dramatic improvement in my blood work the dr is impressed. It is not an unhealthy way of eating, but many minds are stuck in the old way of thinking. when i say more water i am sorry but i do mean more. i drink about 1 1/2 - 2 gallons daily. about 6-8 l daily. it is needed to flush out the waste products from the fat burning. the more you dring the more you want to drink. is is wonderful. what kind of things do you buy for the company?? kerei any food is good for any meal, there does not have to be just eggs for breakfast, what about cottage cheese with somr fresh bluberries? make it into fake rice pudding. (add a bit if cinamon, dribble of vanilla, heavy cream dribble, and several sugar (fake) packets) almost rice pudding. the venting and bragging is shared by all, we all feel eachothers pain and joy, and share the excitement. but mainlly that is the reason we all are here. by the way i belong to another board as well as this one, why did you quit the other? and the idea of getting toghether sounds lke a great one. it is a must!!! hey kudos for the holding out on the smoking. whoooo hooooo Terri comon grab a hold i will pull you up uuuggggghhhhh OK now lets get the roll of tape out!!1 ok common lets get this good and tight. great job. now start the wagon rolling rolling rolling rollllliiiinnnngggg lets keep the wagon rolling!!! (A little off key) Pat??? I just wanted to say i did fair. i think well i knw i over did the carbs a bit, but in the most part i did fine. the chineese did my in, it was beef and broccoli with NO rice. i can just imangine what they are thinking:lol:  but the sauce is the killer. 25???? and the rest??? do not forget to post on the exercise thread, and there is a great daily chatt for all just to become more aware of who we all are. |
I have a question: What does OP mean?:?:
Kirei- good job on not smoking! I must admit I didn't think you'd make it thru BINGO. WOW...I gotta tell you, years ago my husband had a cocaine problem and when he gave up smoking (about 10 yrs ago) he said it was harder than the coke was. He doesn't ever want drugs anymore but even as a TERRIBLE ex-smoker (you know, can't stand people that smoke:devil: ) he still has an urge every now and then. Socongrats on holding out and keep it up! Oh, I don't know if Atkins allows it, but one breakfast thing my plan reccomends is PLAIN yogurt with strawberries, bluberries, or raspberries(fresh of course). I smash them up and put some Equal with it. It's really yummie!:p Barb- good idea about being strict for a couple days before the parties. I will try it. I did figure out one of my triggers today (very hard for me to do) I was helping a friend get ready to open her Curves club and we worked through my lunch time. She had a box of Dunkin donuts sitting there and all it took was one look inside...magically half a chocolate coverd chocolate one disappeared!:o So I guess skipping meals is a trigger, right? Hey everyone, how about chinese food? Is it ok as long as we don't eat the rice? I ate it like that tonight (but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have eaten the eggroll:o Well, nite evryone! |
--Thanks everyone for the kudos on quitting smoking. I feel good.
--I stopped posting on the other board (not on this site) because it was a total different way of eating, and they did not like Atkins. They always criticized it, so I just didn't tell them I started it, and I left. It was a great group, but just not fitting to the Atkins dieter. --I live in Okinawa, Japan, so we don't have any grocery stores. We have a military commisary, and Japanese markets off the military base. Besides, I am allergic to soy. I do have the Atkins bake mix, but I haven't used it yet. I will have to check and see if it has soy in it first. --Gotta run. Take care everyone. Christy |
Good Morning all
It sounds like we are all doing OK.. I am still OP. Please check out the daily thread as well. Nice way to connect with the other very friendly and helpful member of this board. It's Been really nice, I have been able to calm myself or talk my self into staying Op when I am really stressed. I think that the low acrb thing has helped in that respect. And this months PMS symtoms were minor in compared to the past. Christy- Way to go girl. I admit I had my doubts w/ the bingo thing but you are obviously a rock!!! M25- OP stands for being on program or on plan. Planning does help. You might also drink some water and have a protein snack before you go the party. Sue- Well summer is winding down. It's funny to here that some peoples kids are already in school. How are you doing? Cabana Boys are my weakness:devil: . 25H How are you woman? Strong as a rock I bet!!! Hensa- Isn't the sight of the scale going down wonderful? It's so motivating? jdoneil1- Sorry about the tea experience:o . at least you were home coping w/ that. I ahve been to many web sites to check out low carb cooking. I have been wanting to bake soemthing. Let me kno who wit goes for you. There are some things I used to love and if I could find a decent recipe it would be great. We only have a small health food store very pricey. You all have a great day, evening depending on your international time zone LOL Pat |
Oh my, I just wanted to share a special moment I had today...
Here is the story... --I went to visit my husband at work, he is a Firefighter. My husband doesn't smoke, but lots of the Firefighters smoke (especially the Japanese ones). The cravings were coming fullforce, and I broke down and asked my husband to ask one of the guys if I could have a cigarette. My husband was reluctant, but he knew I had a REALLY stressfull day with the kids, so he did. He came back to me with a cigarette, and I went outside to the smoking area benches. I layed the cigarette down on the table top, and stared at it. I tried making excuses as to why I should smoke it. I tried rationalizing it. I sat there imagining what it would be like to smoke it. I sat there staring at this cigarette for 10 LONG minutes. It was like Chinese torture. I was litteraly waiting for MYSELF to convince MYSELF to smoke it. I finally picked it up, walked back inside to my husband, and gave him the ciagarette to give back to the other guy. Needless to say, he was shocked, and so proud. And that made me feel like I was Invinsible. I felt like I could do anything. And it finally hit me.... I CAN do anything, but it will be HARD. People think that once they finally get a clue about whatever they are trying to overcome, that it will be a piece of cake from there on out. But it isn't. It WILL be hard. And there will be times when I, we, are hanging on by a thread... but having faith in yourself means knowing you are going to perservere, eventhough you are hanging on by a thread. All we can do, is hang on to that thread, and know that we will still make it. Why?... because we can doing anything. Especcially the hard stuff. Sorry to write a book here. I just got on an roll. I am feeling good, and I hope and pray that you all are too! We can do this! Heck, we are WOMEN!!!! Need I say more? :D Christy |
Hello!
Kieri - WAY TO GO!! You are so awesome for not giving in to that cigarette. :D Hensa - Congrats on your loss. I'm really happy for you. Hi to everybody. Sorry I haven't posted lately but I've been extremely busy both at home and the office. Hope to have more time soon to "chat" Take care Jennifer |
Hi guys not much time to post, i am too tired. but kudos for you keiri for passing on the cigg. wow.
WE ARE WOMAN! we can do anything we chose to do!!!! remember we have the choice of what we put in our mouth. m25 chinese os not to bad but the sauces are made with starches (carbs) I will chek in tomorow I am to tired to think now have a good day!!! |
Good Morning All.
It is Friday and I am anticipating an extremely stressful day at work. But I also don't want to make that happen either. DId my morning routine to get the endorphins going. will plan and take my meals and drink plenty of water. ANd stay focused. I am still Op and have'nt experienced any cravings came to the conclusion that last weeks pizza cravings were PMS. Feel back in control. I took my new swim toy to the beach yseterday. What fun. It's like an inflatable chaise. This swim thing has had me pondering on the number of things in life that I don't pursue because of my weight. We have a dream thread over on teh 100#club and one thing I would like to do is white water rafting. I would also like to ballroom dance. Life is too short to gather regrets. Anyway, Kieri. You are a GODDESS  . I was worried that you were overwhelming yourself with so many life changes. But I stand corrected. Make suer you give yourself a great big pat on the back!! Sue - You take care of yourself, don't get over tired!! JHP:wave: Where is everybody? Check in and let us know how you are doing Pat |
Hello Princesses!
I have not been able to post for a bit...I blew my back out vacuuming and had to use my arms to balance myself in the chair. I've had to go back on my pain medication and have been pretty zombiefied. I have been checking in, though, and today am better able to move around. More bad news (and I hate writing this, but I have to get it out)...I didn't stop smoking. I won't make any excuses, but am going to try to remember to put the patch on tonight (after 38 years of smoking, I need a bit of help) before I take my medications. Here's praying that I remember and that I do it!!! Christy: I am so proud for you, your committment and your accomplishment!!! I will most definitely be accompanying you soon on the non-smoking trail!!! If you are starting on the induction phase again, try to hold off on eating anything other than the natural foods (meat, veggies, etc.) until you've completed your first two weeks. It will surely give you a good jump start on the program. Hensa: Way to go on your weight loss. You are well on your way to your goal! You stay on program, and I'd be willing to bet that you make it before your birthday! jd: Maybe your tea excursion will be reflected in your next weigh-in...That's some way of cleaningout your system!!! J/K nasus: What a motivator you are!!! Yes, as women, we can do anything we chose to do (will be putting the patch on the nightstand as soon as I get out of this chair). mum2five: (OP = On Program/Plan) I am on Atkins, and fruit is loaded with carbs. I believe that it is only allowed once in the maintenance phase, but most definitely not on the induction program. You're right about not eating being a major trigger. If I start to get hungry while I am out, I usually make a beeline for GNC or the grocery store (whichever is closest) and buy one of the Atkins bars. They're very filling and good to have only occasionally in case of emergencies. Pat: Good job staying OP. I recently spent a day on the lounge in my pool. I also did some reflecting. My dreams help to keep me OP...and having hubby on the program with me helps to keep me motivated...he isn't going to look better than me at any time!!! LOL JHP: While being so busy, remember to try to find SOME time for yourself! I'm not looking forward to my Monday weigh in. This medication I have been taking either makes me gain weight, or stops my weight loss. Either way, I have been OP for over 7 weeks, so I am hoping that it won't be too bad. I'm having a real problem with getting my water this week. It's hard to drink while you are sleeping. I'm thinking I need to have an IV hooked to my arm!!! (just kidding) Hubby and I are planning a trip to upstate New York next month for about 8 days. We discussed going off program while there and we both decided that neither one of us really wanted to do so. Fortunately for both of us, his mother is also doing the Atkins program, so it will be easier for us. I know that we will be eating dinner out quite a bit, so I am hoping that the restaurants there will be as accommodating with our program as they are here. I'm going to force myself to get out of the house and get my hair done now (or as soon as I put the patch on the nightstand). I think it might help to lift my spirits a bit. You all take care of yourselves and keep with it. We are going to triumph over this hurdle!!! Lee Quote:

Hi,
Pat - Exercising in the morning makes the whole day better. I wasn't able to wake up early enough this morning (that darn snooze button  ) & I feel all out of sorts. Paula1254 - Hope your back is feeling better. Your weight loss has been awesome! :) Please share the secrets of your success and also post menus. I'm glad you & DH are planning to stay OP while on your trip. You'll feel so much better. It's always the guilt that kills me. However, I will tell you from personal experience don't let yourself feel deprived. I did that on vacation & once I got home I went on a week long binge which resulted in a 8 lb gain. And don't forget your patch!! Oh, I love your quote. Hi to Sue, Kirei, mum, Hensa, 25, jdoneil & anyone else I forgot. Take care! Jennifer |
Ok. I almost didn't post tonight. My "back on track" attitude hasn't lasted the week. I've been eating all the wrong things, ignoring the water, and avoiding the exercise. And boy am I paying for it! No energy, hungry horrors, and insomnia (again). My daughter (almost 13) commented that I've been very grouchy this week, too. (Like I needed to hear that! ) I know I'm PMSing (which was NEVER a problem prior to age 35  ) but this is ridiculous! Oh, well. At least I haven't gained any weight -- just staying even. I'm trying to get my fee back under me (anyone with extra willpower vibes that they'd care to send my way? :o ). Tomorrow is my younger son's 6th birthday party at a local pizza place. I'm ordering their Ceasar salad with roast chicken (delicious) but I know I'm going to have a tough time saying "NO!!!" to the Carvel ice cream cake. Mantra: "I DON't want it; I DON'T need it; It's not that special that I can't have it another time (just not right now)."
Sorry for the "me" post. Just feeling really blue (and tired). I HATE PMS. I'd (almost) rather have my cycle two weeks of the month than one week of PMS. :( For those of you who are doing great OP (which, by the way, means "on program"), WAY TO GO! -Clap-Clap-Clap (I'm applauding your success & will/won't power). Kudos to you soon-to-be nonsmokers! Excellent progress. Remember -- "Breathe in; breathe out" (and doesn't it feel wonderfull to do that with healthier lungs?! :D Well, I think I'll finish my book before turning in. I'm finally getting a little sleepy (it almost 10:00 PM here). :dz:  |
This is going to be really quick. Joanne, I have been OP for over 7 weeks...you CAN do it too. The more often you say no to the offensive food, the closer you get to your goal. You hand in there!!!
As for me, I finally found the (non-smoking) patches. It's 10:00 at night and I finally have put one on. Please pray for me. More tomorrow, I promise. Lee |
Hello Everyone! I have been CRAZY at work and trying to keep up around the house so I have not been on-line much! My two sons BOTH head off to college in the next couple of days. (One leaves Sunday and the other leaves September 1) Needless to say it has been BUSY around here!
I HAVE managed to say on plan..but have not been exercising as I should. Blame the heat...blame how busy I am....and tired.....but that is NO EXCUSE! I need to make the time. We all do. I WILL exercise today and EVERYDAY..(There, I said it!) Yesterday was WEIGH IN DAY and I managed to lose one pound! (That brings my total up to 27.) Yipee for me! It is also TOM...so any loss is to be celebrated! paula.......Good job staying on plan. I am praying that you will be able to quit smoking. That is a habit I never acquired (Thank God)...and I feel very sorry for those who smoke. I just lost a good friend from lung cancer. She quit too late to save herself. Long story short...DO IT NOW!!! jdoneil.....you have been officially DUCT TAPED to the wagon. Say good bye to the cravings and hello to being IN CONTROL!!! jhp.....you continue to be my inspiration having had such great success on Atkins. How is it going?? fralick....way to stay on plan. I understand the cravings with TOM...I could have killed my dog for some chocolate ice-cream this week! LOL! my buddy nasus...how about giving me a little of your exercise energy over here! We continue to roll! (I would like to roll this FAT of my belly about now!) kieri.........Congrats for staying away from the cigs! Stay in control! You know how hard you are working to stay in control where the FOOD is...and food is a NATURAL thing.......So........you can muster up enough CONTROL to stay away from an UN-NATURAL thing like the cigs! DO it! mum2five......how are you doing? hensa....don't listen to what anyone tells you bad about Atkins or low carbing. I am 43 and have been on various DIETS for years with little or no success! I have taken off 27 pounds on Atkins and this low carb way of life has me feeling better than I have my entire life! The more you read about it...the more you will see that low carb makes sense. Just keep your mouth shut to the "nay-sayers" and when they SEE how gorgeous you look, how good you feel...and how HAPPY you are with this way of life....maybe they will GET IT! Some people just slam what they don't know.....so consider the source. I have taken off 27 and 2 family members have lost 13 and 20 and they love it also! You WILL reach your goal if you stay on plan...and stay on our little wagon....there is TONS of support here! Did I miss anyone????? I sure hope not. Got a busy weekend planned here..so I am not sure when I will get back on line! STAY ON THE WAGON ALL! DESTINATION: SUCCESS!!!!! |
You know, I think I like this "duct tape" thing you all have going. :) I'm thinking about sneaking a roll out of my husband's tool box and putting small patches in or around my "hot zones" (i.e., frig, freezer, snack cabinet, wallet (pays for the junk food), etc.) as a reminder that I've been "officially duct taped to the in control wagon" -- Thank you very much! :D I'm going to put a small piece on the wooden napkin holder that sits in the middle of my dinning room table, too. All as visual reminders of my determination to treat my body better and, finally, shed the excess weight that has plagued me since age ten. Now where else should I put it? Hmmm. Maybe in my office (to ward off the evil  spirit that keeps tempting me to go to the vending machines). That should help (I hope).
Well, I tried to consider my new nutritional requirements while I went shopping today. I got eggs, cheese, sausages, tuna fish, celery sticks, cucumbers, lettuce, Bleu cheese dressing, shark, and hamburgers. Figured I could make up some decent meals with this stuff (focus being on quick, satisfying meals that are OP). Any other ideas? It's going to be another hectic week and I really need to plan my menus and then forget about being OP and focus on all the other projects on the horizon. Gotta go. It's 9:30 here and I'm exhausted after the party today. ( :( No. I didn't manage to avoid the Carvel cake -- or having 1/2 a slice of pizza or the pita pocket the salad come in.) I guess I should have read your encouraging e:mails before I went. :o  |
Hey girls. just a min befor i get to bed.
Joanne. I never thought of using it as a visual reminder. what a great idea. they now have florescent colors of duct tape. wow that should be an eyeopener. I think your shopping list sounded great. one thing i would add is a few low carb atkins bars. for those emergency situations that you are just starving. then eat one or half. (some taste ok some others taste terrible) just to give you the portein boost and then the cravings will not come so bad. I do things like sloppyjoes i eat the meat and cheese in a bowl. I also do tacos in a bowl. although they could be wraped up in a lettuce leaf. MMMMI know what i am going to be having next week!!!:D it will be better once you are OP for over 3-4 days. it is a breeze then!!Sending some vibes~~~~~~~~~~~~~ there do you feel that? 25 Hi buddy!!! I missed you yesterday. I love your enthusiasm. I know that you will be there before you know it. (OH by the way I gave ozzie a kis on the cheek so he would not be too hard on me!) I hope pat does not read that:lol: Lee how is the quitting??? I give yousoo much credit for doing both. POWER TO YOU!!! Jennifer make some time to do what you want!!! even for just 5 min that is your time!!!! much needed for personal sanity. Hensa I am thinking of you. how are you doing??? staying OP??? if not i have some tape just for you. it is bright yellow!!! and very strong:D Keiri where are you??? I am sending will power your way. you have a very tough job ahead of you. I know that you can do it. just keep putting off the cig and you will do just fine, it is hard to smoke when posting so post often (also hard to eat) I stoped smoking that way 13 years ago I put it off for an hour at a time and when the hour was up i put it off again and it has been a whole lot of yhours that i have wait4ed. I do not think i will start again but the temptation still haunts me everyonce in a while. so just put it off. Pat how do you like the cooler weather??? I was thinking of you when i saw aome of our northern neighbors temps BRRRRR. Hey stay strong. Mum2Five check in let us know where you are. stay strong. we are a team!!! I just wanted to repeat a article that i read in womens day it was about the health prejudices agains overweight women. I would suggest all read it. I was in tears. especially if you know that our friend Jiff is having such a hard time. the article could not have come at a better time but it is so unfair. everything is put to blame on obesity. dr.s do not want take their time, and just missdiagnose because of that. one lady was told she had a stomach bug when she had an eptopic pregnancy, another was told she just needed to loos weight and was given diet pills, when a month later she was diagnosed(by a different dr) that she was i the LATE stages of SEVERE mononucleosis. I just have the article in my mind and it tears me up especially when there is so injustice in the worls. well enough I am tired and have to work in the morning. see you all tomorow. if i missed anybody I am sorry i am distracted. so here is a great big HI and stay strong!!! |
--Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a couple days. I have been having a REALLY rough time. Still no ciggarettes, and I even sat in the SMOKING section at BINGO with my friend a couple days ago, and still managed to resist. I told her not to give me one, no matter how desperate I begged. But I didn't even ask. I have been having SEVERE nicotene withdrawls. Last night I dreamt that I won a lifetime supply of Nicorette gum. I am having fantasies about the stupid gum! Weird! Also, once everyday I have this huge burst of frustration where I get mad at everyone and everything. And I burst into tears. I can't wait till this over.
--I have been OP, sort of. I haven't cheated, but I did make some LC PB pie, to get me through my daily withdrawls. It has been a struggle to just not make a huge batch of brownies or pasta, and just forget it all- that's how strong my nico' cravings are. And I haven't been drinking water. Lots of Diet soda. I will drink water from now on. Besides, now all the Diet DP is gone. Enough about me... --Lee, I am sending all of my non-smoking vibes your way. We can do this. I now know that when people say "I could quit if I wanted to, I just don't want to" that it is the biggest lie or self-deception ever. You have no idea how strong a nicotine addiction is until you quit. I always thought that it was just a habit problem for me, not the actual nicotine. I was wrong. Best of everything to you.... be strong. --Everyone else, sorry I can't talk some more, but I am so busy the last couple days. And I am going to play BINGO tonight. Another addiction! HAHAHA. Just kidding. I go to get out of the house. Congrats to everyone staying OP, and losing! Awesome! Christy |
I have to apologize in advance for such a long letter...am in a talkative mood.
I have been checking out another forum that is all about low carbing and I came across the following and wanted to share it with you: There's not much mystery about why these bars cause stalls - they contain a lot more carbs than the labels indicate. The statements about why the carbs from glycerine, polydextrose, maltitol, litese, etc...are not included in the carb count are very questionable. If it counts as a calorie, and you digest it, and it is a carbohydrate, you should be counting it. By doing the basic calorie calculations (total calories, minus fat calories, minus protein calories = carb calories at 4 calories per gram) I recently took a closer look at the real carb counts of Atkins Bars Almond Brownie: 15grams of carbs - 2grams fibre = 13g carbs Banana Colada : 8.75 g - 1g = 7.75 g carbs Chocolate Coconut: 15.25g - 1g = 14.25g carbs Chocolate Macadamia: 7g - 1g = 6 g carbs Chocolate Peanut Butter: 6.25g - 1.2g = 5.05g carbs Chocolate Raspberry: 6.5g - 1g = 5.25g Chunky Peanut Butter: 4g - 1g = 3g Chocolate Macadamia: 10.25g - 2g = 8.25g Praline Crunch: 5g - .1g = 4.9g As you can see, some of the bars are really not that bad, but some are carbohydrate whoppers. If you can eat them and still lose, go for it. But if you are stalled out and wondering why - don't forget the real carb count of these "snacks". (I'm not picking on Atkins, here, other brands are just as bad or worse!) I am done eating the Atkins bars. I only had them for emergencies...like getting too hungry while out running errands...but now I buy iced tea (sugarless) if I start getting too hungry. Not smoking is bad for your health!!! It makes you crabby, emotional, weak, fuzzy headed and more, but I'm not giving up!!! If I can be so committed to losing this weight and staying on program for 8 weeks (tomorrow) I can be strong enough to quit smoking as well. I'm glad that I have a non-smoking buddy like Christy...You're a great motivator...WE CAN DO THIS, buddy!!! My back is better now. I did make myself get out of the house on Friday. I had my hair and nails done, and had lunch with my hairdresser. After being here in Florida for almost 4 years, it's nice to finally have a female friend. We've had more company for our little "happy hour" in the evenings lately. It's been nice seeing people who haven't been around in quite a while. Today, one of our friends is going to bring over chuck steak and make us dinner. I will make a salad and some garlic broccoli and cauliflower (my favorite). Someone asked for the recipe, and it's really very simple: Cut up a few cloves of fresh garlic and put them in a lidded container that will be large enough to handle the amount of vegetables that you have cooked (we usually cook a 16 ounce bag of each). In that same container, add olive oil (we use about a third of a cup). Cook the broccoli and cauliflower in the same pot together the way you normally would. Pour them into a strainer and then right into the container and shake it well so that the veggies are coated with the oil and garlic. The longer they sit, the better they taste. They're even good cold. If you are a salt person like I am, you will find that the more salt you add, the hotter they get. Last night we (meaning hubby did while I was napping) made chicken wings. They're easy and very tasty. As you all know, we rarely cook in the house...I love our grill!!! We cook the wings after seasoning them with salt. Then we put them in a container with butter, garlic (lots of garlic), Louisiana pepper sauce and some cayenne pepper. They're very tasty and go quickly. Also, wings are really inexpensive...especially when we buy them in the family packs. Joanne: Good idea about the duct tape. Today's a new day and a fresh beginning. How about making "little" meatballs with just a bit of cheese inside them for snacking. You can bake them, drain them (if they need it) and put them in a covered container. When you get the urge to eat, just grab one and keep going. Boil a dozen eggs and have them on hand. You can also cook a pound of bacon and grab a slice every now and then to help you. One more...How about some mushrooms stuffed with cheese and bacon? We all need something that we can grab that will be almost carbless to help us keep on track (and away from the snack cabinet and the vending machines). If you have your food prepared, you won't be tempted as easily to go off program. 25: With the boys gone, you will be entering a new and exciting phase in your life. I've been an empty nester for quite a while now. Obviously, you will find that you have more time for yourself, and have the time to rediscover your hubby. You will find that your house stays neater and is less dusty. You'll be spending less time in the kitchen (I hate kitchens!!!!). One of hubby's friends chastized me last night for being in ketosis too long. He thought that since I have lost so much weight that it was time for me to get out of ketosis and start adding fruit and more vegetables to my program. I just bit my lip and let him run off at the mouth. Good job on losing 27 pounds!!! I'm willing to bet that you will show a larger loss on your next weigh in. Sue: I know what you mean about the prejudices of overweight women. I went to several doctors with abdominal pains. Most told me that it was all in my mind...that nothing was wrong with me. I finally got one to do an MRI and he said that my ovary was slightly enlarged, but he wasn't concerned about it. I went to another doctor and first told him that I am not a hypochondriac and that I needed his help. I told him how long I had been in pain and that it was getting worse. I asked him to just schedule me for exploratory surgery (I was desperate!). I told him that if he wouldn't do it, that I would just find another doctor who would, so he agreed, but with one stipulation...If he did this and found that I had nothing wrong, that I would go into counseling! Between the visit and the day of surgery, I had the most excruciating pain, and felt something pop in my right side. The morning of my surgery, he came in to talk with me. He told me that he expected me to be able to go home that afternoon. After surgery, I think that he had a hard time facing me. When he finally walked into my room, I told him that I was ready to go home (lying, of course...I thought I was dying from the pain). I had a growth inside my ovary that had grown until it actually burst the ovary. I had developed an infection and was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. It was in my head, huh???? Christy: I'm with you, hang in there. Prepare meals ahead of time to stay on your program instead of making tempting snacks that might trigger your cravings even more. It's tough, but you can do it. I'm sending up a special prayer for you! Jennifer: I hope all is well with you and that you are taking time for yourself. Hello to the rest of you. I hope you're staying strong and on program. You're all in my prayers. I told you this would be long, but I have one more thing to add. I wrote something in my journey (as opposed to journal) that I would like to share with you. It has been what has kept me on track for so long: I have really thought about this program that I am on and about reaching my goals. I cheated in the first week of the program, and was really disgusted with myself. I started out my program by sabotaging it!!! Since the second week, I have been faithful to myself, and haven’t repeated my mistake. My thinking today is that overeating and using food for rewards while on my program just doesn’t make sense. Doing without the things that I enjoy while I am on this program is not a matter of depriving myself. It makes perfect sense. Those things that I am doing without are always going to be there, but right now, they don’t fit in with my program. They will cause me to either gain weight, or not to lose. They might make me feel good momentarily, but really make me feel unwell in the long run. I will be disappointed with myself for not keeping to my strong commitment of losing this heavy burden that is extra weight. How can I justify eating something that isn’t on the program? Why reward yourself with something that will sabotage your weight loss when the actual reward is the loss itself. How ridiculous can one be? Lee Quote:

Lee you are really a princess. Wow what words of wisdom. thankyou. You are doing great fighting the urge to smoke. I still have cravings even after 13 years. I love the snack ideas. I am comming across that problem at home (the weeknds are the hardest) and i have a bag of carrots there(not good) but i allow myself a few. I love the meatball idea!!! and you can bet your sweet bippie that i will be making that coliflour and broccoli. it sounds absolutly delicious. I love garlic and both veges!!! did you post that in the recipe section??? which other forum do you follow??? I follow PP forum too. there are also some great sites that have fantastic recipes. I tend to go for the simple recipes.

Keiri you are going so strong girlfriend. what power you have, wow. keep it up!!! to the others i have to get moving today is my busy day!!! hope your day is strong!!! |
Ok. I got the message, Folks. :) New Day -- New Start. I had 2 eggs with shredded cheddar cheese and 1 sausage link with coffee for breakfast. I lost that "fuzzy" feeling in my head half way through the meal! Guess my body really needed those proteins. (I will admit though, I really missed my OJ. :( ) I'm thinking that, much later OP, I might add it back in small doses mixed with flavored seltzer water (kinda like a virgin Mimosa). Planning on tuna salad for lunch and burgers (minus rolls) for dinner.
I want to make the following pledge to myself (putting it in writing will make it official), I will not end my day without checking this forum! I NEED the support for you all. I want to be able to support others in their endeavors. Unless we are in the mists of an electrial storm, John (hubby) has promised to ask me if I "logged in" before we go to bed each night. (Isn't he sweet? :) ) But enough about me . . . Sue -- Thanks for the vibes. I got them loud and clear! Felt them work as soon as I read your message! Thank you! :D Christy/Lee -- Excellent progress on the non-smoking attempts. You are doing great! Keep up the good work. Lee -- One quick, question? Did you go back and kick each of those so-called doctors in the a** when you recovered?!? If you didn't, it's never too late! They all should have their licenses revoked!! (OK, I vented. :o ) Thanks for the quick food tips. I am planning on boiling a dozen eggs today for quick breakfasts and egg salad during the week. I bought some cucumbers to peel and cut up for quick snacks along with some celery. I'll bring some (no-carb) Bleu cheese dressing to dip them in. I also got some Vermont cheddar cheese to cup up into cubes and some sugar-free pink lemonade mix (Love it!) to alternate with my water. Anyone else care to share some quick, simple, CHEAP snack/meal ideas? With the kids going back to school, I'm starting to load my grocery cart with things like chips, yogurt, snack cakes, etc. The kids are not happy with my edict that they get limited snacks this year. (I don't want them turning into carb-addicts like their mother!) I'm looking at things like celery stuffed with seasoned cream cheese or PB; cheddar cheese cubes; deli meats rolled and then cut into bite-sized pieces; and other low-carb/high protein snacks. I won't cut out all of their "junk" food but I am limiting it to one a day (which is still a whole lot more than I was allowed at their age). Gotta go. Time to drive the kids home who spent the night for my son's sleepover/birthday party. |
Sue: The carrots are wonderful snacks for the KIDS. Keep your grubby mitts off them...you know better!!! LOL
I have just found this forum recently: http://forum.lowcarber.org/ It's totally a low carb forum. I don't quite find it as user-friendly as this forum, though. I have posted a couple of times, but have not been receiving responses as I have here. I haven't posted either of those recipes, but you are welcome to do so if you like. I am pretty careful what I eat. I don't make anything fancy, I just prefer veggies, meat , eggs, tuna (I'd make a caesar salad and add a can of tuna to it...you could make your salad, bring in the tuna and dressing and throw then all together at lunch), seafood, and salads. I am keeping my carbs to around 20 a day until I get closer to my goal. Oh, I cooked this morning!!! I made bacon, sausage and eggs. I wasn't able to stand long enough to prepare an omelet, so I just threw some cheese on the eggs while they were cooking. Speaking of eggs, eons ago, I used to make crustless quiches. I'd put in things like celery, radishes, green peppers, mushrooms, and spinach. They were fine cold, and/or could be thrown into the microwave to warm them. They make a good low carb snack at any time. Besides not being able to stand that long preparing anything fancy (and just Hating being in the kitchen), I am of the KISS (keep it simple stupid) theory. Get your cooking done and get out of the kitchen. Don't be tempted further by staying any longer than you have to. Joanne: It sounds like you are putting it together. Hang in there...it only hurts for a little while (where did I get that...must have heard it somewhere???). You could dice up your cucumbers, a "little" bit of tomato, and some bacon bits and mix them in some cottage cheese. Season to taste, and it's a good meal or snack. It's been 15 years since I had that surgery. It was a good thing for them we didn't stay in town. I was going to go visit each of them with the reports from my surgery and give them a stern reprimand!!! You all stay strong. WE CAN DO THIS!!! Lee |
Spit spit spit
Oh sorry that was the carrot :D I just love your ideas!!! I had never thought of having cucumbers. I just looked it up and it has 2 ecc (effective carb count which means after the fiber is subtracted) per cup. I can certainly handle that!!! I just want to add a quote that i saw on a T-shirt. Pain is temporary, Pride is forever. I think of the difficulty of saying no as the pain. |
A friendly invitation
All you enthusiastic Chicks posting on this thread don't seem to be aware that there are other threads in this forum that are for EVERYBODY. We have a daily thread which is usually headed up by the date and "Daily". This is where we talk about our daily lives more than our weight loss programs. We hope that some of you will take the time to stop by and introduce yourselves. Meanwhile, it's inspiring to read so many success stories in this thread. Hello all,
How is everyone? Kirei- Way to go girl Hope all is well in the bingo hall. Nothing really going on here Sue who was that you kissed? HMMM....... :nono: . Now what is your trainer/s name again? Well I am still into those quiet serving cabana Boys. The ones who know what you want w/o you asking. Anyway I digress, whew is is hot in here? Still OP looking to lose 3#'s this week. Will have to be very careful. Take care all  Pat |
Well, I almost made it through the day totally OP. While I was cleaning up the disaster area formally known as my parlor (the mess 6 kids can make during one sleepover is amazing!), I had to bring the cookie tin in to the kitchen. I kept getting side-tracked (with the tin in my arms) so it was about 10 minutes before it actually got put away. My 11-1/2 year-old son asked me if I was aware that I'd just eaten FIVE Oreos! :o (Why the little twerp found it necessary to count I have no idea.) But I really hadn't been aware of it. In fact, if I didn't at that moment actually still taste the Oreos in my mouth, I would have suspected he was pulling my leg. Talk about unconcious eating! Well, at least I can say that was the only thing that wasn't OP today. And I did monitor my consumption of OP calories after that to try to make up for it (and lots of water, too).
How did everyone else do today? Got your menus planned for tomorow? I've got 2 hardboiled eggs for breakfast with coffee; Italian meatballs with mushroom Alfredo sauce and celery sticks for lunch; and bun-less cheeseburgers and a salad for dinner. Oh, and don't forget the WATER, WATER, WATER (followed by the bathroom, bathroom, bathroom  ). Thanks for the information on the protein bars. At $0.99 each for a 3" bar, I wasn't planning on keeping them on hand. Although I do plan on picking up one or two for trips to visit the grandparents in the next state. Last time we went I'd just started the Atkins plan. We took my mom out for lunch and I stayed OP (she was so proud :D ). But it was late when we headed back and the boys (had both sons with me) and I were hungry. I stopped at Burger King and got them kids' meals but couldn't figure out a non-messy way to eat just the hamburger or chicken and still drive us home. I ended up settling for a diet coke (although I really didn't want the caffeine :( ). It filled my stomach until I got home and had a salad and tuna fish. If I'd known those bars were available, it would have been a much more comfortable ride. :) Gotta go. Congressman Sununu is visiting our new facility tomorrow and I want to look nice and rested. My daughter helped me pick out a very professional looking outfit from my closet (didn't hurt that it makes me look about 15 pounds slimmer :smug: ). |
Friends, (and especially Sue, mu sisters name) please hang in ther tonight. You too can stay OP. You have no real reason to do otherwise. We are all dedicated to losing this weight, and I promise you that I will be here for you all. I am on my way to bed, craving a cigarette instead of food, but I can handle this evil monster too.
Takle care and I will look forward to hearing from you when I awaken in the morning. Lee |
way to go Pat. I had a hard time staying oP for the weekend but did manage. I am going to try some of lee's ideas. I have some dip and peppers and cuccumbers.. I just boiled up a doz eggs, I do have some meatballs but DH has eaten them all up:mad: Ummm I did kiss my trasiner on the cheek ... well only because i was told he was in a bad mood and he needed some cheering up (and i was next on his schedule) so i did not get too abused!!!
I bought a bely dancing tape. I can not wait till i try it!!! classes start up in a few weeks so i need to practice. I did work out at the gym, 30 on the oliptical and then did 60 crunches on the ball. (I do not know what it's real name is but it is a tough crunch) lee hang in there we can beat the cravings toghether. I will give you my quitting vibes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ feel them? that should help for the morning!!! good luck and to all the reat of you guys I have pretty colred tape waiting if you need it!!!!!! |
this is gonna be long :) with a couple great recipes at the end...
Hello girls...
-- You all mean so much to me! I love this board, and couldn't do this without you. --Lee, I am so glad we are doing this together. You are WONDERFUL, because I know it must 10x harder for you since you were smoking much longer than me. You are an inspiration to me. My gramma, who is in her 70's and smoked for over 50 years, quit last year. She was one of those who supposedly believed that there was nothing wrong with smoking (a doctor told her to start after her baby to help lose weight!!!). One day, she up and quit! And she was smoking at least 3 packs a day!!!!! You can do this. I am here with you. Whenever you need to vent... just let it all out here. I can say for me, that the cravings are MUCH less today and yesterday. MUCH MUCH less. It is wonderful. -- Nasus- belly dancing? COOL! That sounds like a blast! My belly dancing every time I laugh or walk. hehehehe. Not for long. Tell us how it goes! -- jdoneil- Good luck meeting your congressman. Bet you are excited. Oreo's sure are good, but I can't eat them w/o dipping them in milk. Just move forward, and know that we are not perfect. Our perfection lies in knowing our mistakes, and preventing them in the future. :) -- Pat- My goal will be to lose 3 pounds this week too! I will weigh in next Monday, and make my hubby hide the scale until then. Lets do it together! We can! I am 187 today, so I WILL be 184 by Monday. You are a great motivator! -- To everyone else, I haven't forgotten you! But this post will be TOO long after my recipes are posted... so HELLO!GOOD LUCK staying op this week. But we don't need luck, so Good will power staing op. hehe. -- My husband and I decided that everyday he is off (he is a firefighter, so he works 24, off 24, works 24, off 24) that we will go walking. Tomorrow we are all going to go walking out Gate 2 street. G 2 street is a street out of our Military base that is a Japanese shopping area. Great stores, and outside Japanese malls with some AWESOME bali shops. It is a good long walk. -- On secong thought, I will post this meesage, and post the recipes on a new message. See ya all later! Christy |
Both of these recipes are from www.allrecipes.com
Chicken Papadoris
6 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces 2 tablespoons butter 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoons soy sauce 1 teaspoon paprika 1/2 of a 14 ounce can unsweetened coconut milk 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon curry powder 2 teaspoons cornstarch 1/4 cup cold water 1/8th cup pine nuts, lightly roasted - OPTIONAL Directions 1-- Remove all skin and fat from chicken breasts and discard. 2-- In a frying pan melt butter or margarine and add chicken pieces. Cover and fry until chicken is cooked through and there is no pink showing (about 5 minutes). 3-- Add garlic and cook about 3 minutes. Add pine nuts(optional), soy sauce, paprika and coconut milk. Continue cooking on medium high heat for about 3 minutes. Stir in cumin and curry powder. 4-- In a cup, mix together cornstarch and water. Near the end of cooking the chicken and while the sauce is bubbling, add cornstarch mixture, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and has the consistency of gravy. Adjust seasonings to taste. - Now, I omitted the pine nuts, and it was very good. You can also omit the cornstarch, it just won't be as thick, but still very yummy. Keep in mind, pine nuts have3.3 carbs for every 1 ounce. The original recipe calls for onion, but too many carbs for us, and I hate onions! :) Total carbs in whole recipe is 10 grams not including the coconut milk. You will have to look on the can of the cocnut milk you use, but it isn't alot at all. This usually serves 2 people. Enjoy. <<I just made this for lunch, but I didn't have coconut milk, so I used whipping cream, and it was even better! I added extra of all the spices too. Yum!>> __________________________________________________ Spinich Casserole 2 (10ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach (thawed and drained) 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (softened- I put in microwave for 30 seconds) 1/2 cup grated parmesan (I use block and grate my own) 1/4 cup of milk or cream Directions 1-- Preheat oven to *350 F (175 C) 2-- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and milk with a mixer until smooth. Add spinach and mix together with a spoon. Spoon into a small/medium casserole dish and sprinkle with parmesan cheese all over the top. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Total carbs for entire recipe is 26g. Serves approx. 4 which is 6.5g per servings. This is a generous carb count since the cream cheese is counted as 1g per oz, but it is actually less than 1g per ounce. So enjoy. Perfect for the evening vegetable when you get tired of the same ole' same ole'. christy |
Another www.allrecipes.com recipe...
Quick Mustard Teriyaki Chicken
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 6 T Dijon mustard 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce 5-6 bacon strips (microwaved, and cut into pieces) 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (again, I use block parmesan and grate it myself- YUMMY) Directions 1-- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). 2-- Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Slather mustard evenly over chicken, then pour teriyaki sauce evenly over all. Sprinkle with bacon, then cover with cheese. 3-- Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 30 minutes. I tried to count the carbs in this, but everything was either trace or less than 1g. So.... Enjoy. Christy |
Hi Everybody!
Where did the weekend go? I swear it was just Friday & it's back to Monday already! Down 2 more lbs this morning (164 lost), & .5" (waist) :) Saw DH's extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) this weekend, & they were amazed at much I've lost since they saw me at Christmas. It was nice, but unfortunately all I can think is how much more I have to go. I asked one of his aunts who is going to school for counselling to suggest a good counselor that I can talk to. I'm having a hard time psychologically these days. I have no perception of what I look like so DH takes a Polaroid of me every morning. I see the loss, but I still think I'm bigger than everyone. I was talking to my boss' assistant the other day & we got on the subject of size. She is 1" taller than I am & I weigh one lb less than she does, but I would have sworn I was at least 20 lb heavier than she. I also mentioned to someone that I would love to be the size of one of our co-workers, & she looked at me like I was nuts & told me I was already smaller! DH is always pointing out women who I look like, but to me I'm much, much bigger. I had no idea losing this weight was going to be so psychological. Why can't I just enjoy it instead of focusing (obsessing, really) on the 28 lbs I still have to go? Am I crazy??? Sorry to vent, I'm just having a really hard time with this lately. I'll shup up now. Jennifer |

I didn't break my diet one time. Not once! I have stayed on the induction plan and excercised and I feel great. You can easily lose that weight on the Atkins plan DEDICATION! If you dont lose the weight noone is to blame except yourself. Good luck and Peace, love and happiness |
Jennifer, I can understand what you are saying and empathize, but in the opposite direction!
I am so much heavier than I have ever been, my brothers and parents were here this past week and I could just feel them looking at me thinking..."boy you are a cow!" They would never say it but I know what they were thinking....Problem is I still think like the skinny person that I used to be!! Sometimes we all need to just focus on the positive! Look how far you hae come!! I hope be with you soon! |
