I DID IT!! I DID IT !! I resisted and walked away from my all time favorite and weakness at my favorite Mexican restaurant! Chips and Salsa!!!
DH is always asking me out to lunch but I seldom go as I'm usually not public presentable or in the middle of scrubbing a toilet or something! Well, trying to salvage my wasted morning I surprised him by inviting him to lunch! When I asked where he wanted to go and he said "Sergios"....I gulped! The pit of my stomach cratered....My palms became clammy and I started to sweat! How could he do this to me????
"Whatever you want DH" (which wasn't standing for dear at that moment! We walked into the restaurant and I could hear them calling me and teasing me from everywhere! The kitchen, the tables, the waitress carrying the fresh warm little crisp things! I can do this....I can do this....The waitress automatically brought over two bowls of salsa AND chips. I will not give in and guess what! I made it !!! Not even one little nibble. But believe me....as soon as my salad was done I ran out of that darn place like my britches were on fire before I scarfed up on the crumbs that DH had left behind! Yippee....OP day #2 almost over!
Breakfast
3 decafs//1 D Sprite//1 bottle water ( I know-I know)
How strange not to weigh this a.m.! I am on a lower carb version of WW - here we go.
B. scrambled eggs with peppers and mushrooms and salsa
(high protein breakfasts keep me going best)
L. a Riviera sandwich
- This is a hot dog bun with tomatoes, thinly sliced onions, ground pepper and a bit of olive oil. You weight it down for a bit and have it with a glass of red wine. Very messy! Should be eaten in the bathrtub or wading pool. And I DID have a glass of wine. So there!
D. pork skewers on the BBQ, yellow beans, spinach and blueberries with yoghurt.
Sounds like nearly everyone's day has gone well so far! Can't believe how fast the day has gone by. When I was working full time, the day didn't seem to pass nearly as quickly!! Hi Tracey - it's nice to have you amongst this nice group of people! I've been participating for a few weeks now, and everyone has made me feel very welcome and has offered advice when I was struggling with low carb. I'm sure you're running around like a mad woman with twins, but just do your best to enjoy your time with your babies, cuz they grow up too fast!! And, take some time to relax.......a nice bath, a good book.......have some fun!
I've changed over to my diabetic diet as of yesterday, as I didn't fair very well on low carb. I may try low carb again down the road, but I think I'll give this low cal/low fat diet a whirl for awhile. I do sure want something to eat right now though!!! I'm resisting the urge to put anything in my mouth and am trying to be strong.......ugg........a real challenge for sure.
Hope your evening is great all.....it's nice to have ya'll to chat with!
Way to go MamaJ!! I told DH the other day that I've been craving Mexican. Something cheesy, gooey & tortilla-y. Will probably indulge at Mi Tierra in San Antonio once I reach goal.

As ususal. I am waaay light on vegetables and salad. I'll focus on that at the grocery store tomorrow night.
I got the Schwartzbein book(The Schwarzbein Principle) at Borders yesterday after thinking about the question about serotonin. I read it about a year ago- it is really interesting to read and I wanted to recommend it to everyone again- even if you do CALP or Atkins or a reduced carbWW, the body science is very similar for all of us- no matter how you figure it, we will be helped by adequate fat, protein, plenty of veggies, and smaller portions of carbs, or really low-glycemic carbs.
I just love reading this stuff, and wanted to get others to try it!
