I'm late too, L! I did errands all morning and now am going for a well-deserved nap! We had a big dump of very wet and heavy snow and I've shovelled off three of the porches and steps because it is supposed to freeze again tonight. Please tell me that shovelling that kind of snow counts as exercise! I still need to lug in wood from the barn but that'll be after my nap. I weekends!

Hi chickies......... today was another running around day: first thing: haircut and touch up!!! sheesh! my roots were so bad that they were about to give off shoots!! Then to cablevision to return the cable box and get 2 new ones; then the dentist, the library.... etc etc etc etc......... with all of that, would anyone believe that I forgot to eat lunch????? I just had a few ounces of pistachio nuts!!! hmmmmm - does that mean I can eat more good stuff tonight for supper?

L, sorry that your day was so very exciting!! Just remember, it could have been filled with appliances breaking and awful stuff like that! (hmm but would that really be worse than having a little one stuck at home w/strep? I'm not so sure!!)

Ruth, YES YES YES YES YES........ shovelling all that heavy wet stuff most definitely DOES count as excercise! YOu most definitely deserve that nap now!..... and hmmm, how about a hot toddy later? You have not only my permission, but my blessing

Well, gotta go break the news to hubby that one of the cable boxes doesn't work because there is something wrong w/the cable in that room -- of CoURSE it is for the big-screen tv!!!! sheesh! cablevision says they'll come TUESDAY!!! but tomorrow is the end of "Sex in the City" and I REFUSE to miss it... I'll watch it on the bedroom tv, but dh will NOT be happy, and I can't say that I blame him..... I suppose I should have waited to get the new boxes until next week....... oh well.........

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, chickies..........

Hi guys! Just in from an exciting day of baseball watching.

BRAG ALERT: Sorry but I'm just bursting at the seams with this news. A few weeks back Bryan (my 15 year old freshman) was asked by the varsity coach to play in a practice baseball game for varsity since a few of the players are still doing basketball. The game was originally scheduled for last Monday but got rained out (which was a good thing because Bry has rolled his ankle on Saturday and it was still fairly swollen and painful on Monday and I was going to have to call the coach and cancel) So anyway, they played the game today and Bry was awsome! He batted very well and was one of the best pitchers of the game! I was so proud of him - he had been very nervous to play with 'the big boys' (which is funny in itself since he is 5'11', 185 lbs! lol) but he more than held his own! Then, this afternoon we came back to our high school and he played a game with his JV team - he got two good hits but didn't pitch as they don't want to kill his arm. Ok - I'm done bragging!

I gotta bunch of laundry to do but 1st need to run over to the copy place and copy a bunch of bank statements, tax returns, etc. for stbx to pick up with he comes for his visit with the boys tomorrow. Nothing like having to dig out every cancelled check from a 17 1/2 year marriage and copy it - are we having fun yet???

Have a nice evening all and I will chat at ya tomorrow.

Kel

Good grief, Kel. I'm sure I don't have cancelled checks for more than a year or two. Who the heck keeps them for 17 years? Sounds like a nightmare but I guess you have to go through it. Good luck. Sounds like your son is a future baseball star in the making. Good for him.

Ruth, I hope you're not overdoing it in the shovelling dept. That's really heavy work. I bet the pounds are just melting off you, girlfriend.

L - my day hasn't been a thrill a minute either. Did some grocery shopping...which I hate doing on a weekend and have no reason to as I could go any day. I think I forgot what day it was. I got in a couple of hours of garden clean-up this afternoon. Gorgeous, sunny and so warm I was able to take off my jacket and work in short sleeves. Nice to see the crocuses blooming and see the robins are returning.

On a less happy note, I have really blown my diet the past couple of days. I guess I was discouraged due to no movement on the scale and did the worst thing I could possibly do. Last night I had some potatoes and even a slice of French bread with my dinner. Vowed I was going to get back on track today but what did I have for my afternoon snack?? Walnuts and chocolate chips! Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face! Well, I guess it's back to the old drawing board. Can you believe that I gained 5 lb overnight? I know it has to be fluid but still, it's a downer.

Angry Good Early Sunday Morning !!!

It's another lovely morning in Houston! We sure deserved the break the past few days! I don't think there was a day that went by for a month we didn't have rain! When you're a self employed builder that sure wreaks havoc in the checkbook! But today will be our last lovely dry day as the rain is scheduled to return this evening!

Ruthie - can't you find a lad down the lane to do some of that shoveling? You really need not to overdo it my friend!!! And pls get Raul to bring in the wood - (or at least keep you warm by the fire -

L-How's the little man doing? How do you manage to work in a work out around all of that?

Sono-lmao about your roots giving off shoots! Glad you got them under control and back to your gorgeous self!

Linda-hang in there - you know how to get back on track Linda! Need these Tx size boots to get you back on? Is something triggering it? Or a moment of weakness? We all have it happen ( looking at self here) and we know what we have to do ---- up that protein, drink that water!!!

Robin -

Kel - You brag away girl! Obviously Bry is very talented! Ok, been divorced and do not understand why you need to have every cancelled check for all those years!!!! Not trying to invade your privacy but hope it's not cuz stbx is being a shstbx!!!

I kept trying to make it in yesterday but just another one of those days!! Every time I started something - something else needed "immediate" attention or some kind of deterent! I did manage to get a few more loads of laundry done somewhere in between all the chaos! Beds made and general straighten up. I had hoped to clean up the office a bit but there's a slow gas leak from the "new" heater dh put in and the smell was just horrible! Finally gave up, made dinner and we watched movies! (stilllll relishing in the fact that Stephen and his bro Michael are hanging out on even a Saturday night at home!) Has anyone seen the movie Radio with Cuba Gooding, Jr??? Great, great movie! I finally saw Panic Room with Jodie Foster, too. I'm not a big movie goer but wait till they come out on DVD - I'm a pause cause I got to go potty kind of girl!

Off for more coffee ---- will try to check in again later!

Thought for the day ----- drink your water!

Morning, LowCarb Chickies.

Hey, Kel - that is sooooo great - Yeah Bryan!

I woke up thinking I was getting a cold but coffee, a Dristan and some wonderful strawberries fixed that! I don't buy Mexican produce because I know they spray the heck out of everything but these strawberries are from CA and were just wonderful! They even smelled like strawberries. SBD does allow fruit on Phase II so I indulged.

I also finally found Atkins bread in town yesterday! 7 carbs and 3 fiber so I'll have the odd sandwich. I just have to get back to losing weight no matter how I do it. Geez, that sounds bad.

Skipped Church this morning because I felt crappy and now I'm going to work off my guilt by doing the pre-Gail tidying today instead of in a big rush tomorrow morning.

By the way, Lucy is still not in heat! Anybody got any sites for doggie porn to inspire her?

Have a super Sunday.

Thanks for being happy for us, you guys are great!

Ruth - Glad you like our strawberries! I live in a semi-rural area and there are many large strawberry patches here with the roadside stands and we often find an excuse to stop and pick up some - YUM. It's a bit too cold/wet here right now but I know down south they grow them nearly year round.

L - I might have to find a peice of exercise equipment like that. Something easy for me to pop on and do for 20 minutes here and there. I have that Curves membership but I still haven't found a way to work it in my new, busier lifestyle.

Linda - I'm rooting for ya! I know you can get back on track and not look back. You have been doing so good recently. I'm sure that you just had a minor setback - no biggie, we all have them. Part of life.

Janice - "but hope it's not cuz stbx is being a shstbx!!!" Now, Janice, you KNOW the answer to that one, right? *sigh* He really is running out of things to 'get to me' with so it's just a matter of time before he becomes a distant (horrid) memory. Then I can start doing some real healing. - Right now he is enjoying stirring things up - it's like picking a scab.

Drizzly day here today. That's ok - it will force me to stay in the house and do laundry and clean! I'm going to go surf the recipe sites in a second and see if I can find out how to cook this pork roast to make Carnitas for dinner. Then I need to jump in the shower and spruce myself up a bit since the boys' father will be picking them up for a visit at noon (I won't let him see me tired/haggard, etc. - let him stew about what he screwed up! HA)

Have a great Sunday friends -

Kel

Good sunny morning everyone! I hope it's as lovely outside as it looks thru the window!! The sky is a gorgeous blue (even tho the trees are swaying A LOT!!) - oh well, I'll find out in a while...... The very first movie that dh ever shot (about 1-1/2 yrs ago) is being screened today at The Staller Center - (a theatre at Stony Brook University)... it was a short student film, and he played the father of the bride (typecasting d'ya think??) - so we are going to that. It's an afternoon screening, but I sure hope we'll be home by 8.... because that's when the "look back" at Sex & the City" begins, before the final episode at 9:00 ........ but, first I have to figure out how to set the VCR to tape American Dreams at 8 ( - this show reminds me so much of growing up in the mid-60's)

Kel --- wowow! You have every right to brag and be so very proud of Bryan. One question tho'.. it may be none of my business (and of course, it isn't!!) but why on earth are you bothering to dig out and copy old checks for that shstbx?!?!?! If he wants copies, let him dig them out and do it hisowndarnself!!! (not to mention that NO ONE needs to keep checks going back more than 7 years... actually, except maybe for proof for private mortgage payments, not really more than 5 years)

Mamaj - I haven't seen Radio yet..... still waiting for it to come on cable (unless it's already been and gone?!?!?!) the commercials for it looked so good, and I really like Cuba Gooding Jr...... As for Panic Room, I sorta watched it on tv, only it was on late and I fell asleep!! I also heard that the Fighting Temptations was terrific... am waiting for that one, too!

Gee whiz Ruth - I don't know any PEOPLE porn sites, let alone any for Lucy - maybe Morna knows some? Sorry you're feeling so crappy........ Maybe a good lazy day will help! That means don't do too much pre-gail tidying! Relax and allow yourself some good old-fashioned laziness! You deserve it!

Robin, enjoy the movie...... Charlize Theron is such a terrific actress.......

Well, I guess I better get my a$$ in gear....... have a great day everyone...

Oh I know, Sono, it is completely ridiculous. He was the one that maintained all the records here (control freak) and most all of them are still here but I'm not even sure what and how far back I have. I certainly don't want him in the house going thru paperwork so the burden is on me. I will give him stuff for a couple years back (I've dug out that stuff) today but I need to check with my lawyer next week (more money!) to see if I'm obligated to dig out and copy EVERYTHING he is requesting. He LOVES to threaten supeneaing all the records thru court, etc.

Thanks for your concern, you guys - it sure does help for me to hear what a jerk others think he is when they hear what he is trying to pull.
