How weird is it that I'm the first one here on a weekend? Where are all you sleepyheads? DH (the lovely man) made a terrific pot of coffee, so come on and join me in a cup before I finish it all! Today is going to be kind of quiet - I'm coming down with "something" and feel kinda "yukky", but 2 errands are absolutely necessary - return books to library and go to store and pay credit card bill (too late to mail it!!).... after that, it's curl up under the covers and see how I feel later. Tonight we are supposed to play Military Bridge (it is a huge big deal that we do every year at this time), and if I'm sick it can be a problem. The game is set up for a certain number of teams, and if 1 person doesn't show up, it throws off the whole thing, so you really need to find a replacement for yourself; also, tomorrow we are going to older dd's house to babysit the little ones cause she is leaving tonight for a quick trip to Chicago (younger dd babysits tonight and we take over tomorrow) and I don't want to get them sick. Not to mention that we are supposedly getting a big snow Sunday night,Monday, & Tuesday - boo hoo hoo. Poor me. Ok ok ok - enough ranting and venting; see how I get when I don't feel well?

I'm going back to my pillow and cozy down comforter - later, chickies. I hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning Sono and all to come!

Its snowing here again today, and with the condition of the ski trails yesterday, I dont think I'll be heading out there again today.....just a brisk walk instead (it would be alot less aggravating)

Heading over to sil's for birthday lasagna and cake later tonight. Im glad we were called last night and not an hour before dinner (which is common) that way I could plan to switch my free day to today

Not much else to report, Im off to read other threads.......have a great day

Well, I survived my busy day yesterday and am going to try for a calm, peaceful and productive Saturday. I slept until 7:20 this morning (warm milk works!) and have been trying to get the back room warmed up. You could see your breath in there.

Tomorrow rehearsals start every night so I'll be pretty busy. I am so glad I have that homemaker to keep H. company at least one afternoon. I am considering getting her for a couple of evenings too and paying her myself. H. might like a bit of company from 6:30 until he goes to bed.

Today is a get it together day so I'd better get with it.

Good Morning Ladies, I still can't get over waking up this early on weekends, pre-atkins I slept until at least noon and sometimes 3 in the afternoon. I've never been a "morning" person until now. It's kind of growing on me. Ruth, glad to see you've got some help over there, so you can have some time. You're not going to be too good for us after you're a famous actress are you ?

Robin, how's BFL going? I haven't been around to see all your updates since you started. I looked into it when you started and it is an amazing work out schedule, more power to you!

SonoGranny, get better soon, I've always found this WOE is very hard when you're sick, all the comfort foods are carby. And snow, omg, it's insane everywhere this year, every other day it dumps 5 more inches on us!

TTFN and to everyone going in a bit later.

Just checkingin over my cuppa coffee. I'm at work, but not doing much work this morning. Last night was my Bunko night. It was fun as usual. It was at my house & I made the SBD White Chili and it was a big hit. Since Ruth didn't pay Gails way to come to Dallas and take over for my former housecleaner, I had to call an agency to send someone out. She did a pretty good job, but because it was through an agency it cost more.

Good afternoon girls

Glad to see you all working so hard on your WOE, I feel like such a slug myself!

I started taking care of my friend's kids back in October, 4 year old Emily and 2 1/2 year old Devon. When my friend Helena is at work, I have them. This week I've had them Thursday, Friday, today, and next week tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (I think). They are sweet kids generally and right now is nap time so I have a few minutes to sit down.

have to go inot town this afternoon to get myself some maternity pants--I can't believe that I can't get my pants done up so early! Doesn't surprise me too much though, with Miree I showed at 3 months and I was a lot thinner then than I am now.

Sono, feel better hon and wrap up and sleep, sounds like you need it!

Ruth, are you in a play or something? And please don't sic Hersh and Lucy on me, I already have one crazy Rosie puppy!LOL

Robin, enjoy your dinner with your SIL

Tummy, that's really the beauty of Atkins, you have just so much more energy and are so much more alert

Barb, after all these kids here I NEED someone to come and clean my house!! Wanna send someone over?

Have a good day everyone

Sounds like everyone has a busy weekend. I am still sick so staying home and mostly in bed. My employees are loving this as they are getting extra time covering for me. Looking forward to getting back on program and exercising again so I can continue the weight loss. Hopefully by Monday I will be up and running.

Hi gang, I just returned from having lunch at Blimpie's. I tried their new buffalo chicken sandwich (advertised on their low carb menu -- 7 net grams of carbs; 10 grams of fiber!). It was okay, but I think I'll stick with their salads from now on. I'm curious how long that sandwich will stay with me though. Usually I get hunger pains about 3 hours after I eat a salad. So far it has been 2 hours and I'm not the least bit hungry.

Hi all. I'm having coffee but it's mid-afternoon, not morning. We went out last night to a buffet dinner and live entertainment. Must have been 400-500 people in this hotel ballroom. It was a mock Ed Sullivan show with some really terrific impersonators of Mick Jagger, Freddy Fender, Roy Orbison, Sonny & Cher, etc as well as some hilarious jokes. It's so rare for us to go out for an evening and I'm still limping from sore foot that I've had for a week now but it was very enjoyable. Must do that more often. I even managed to stay op. I just had diet cola for drinks and the buffet offered oven baked chicken thighs and a plain tossed salad so I was ok. No dessert on the menu either. Gosh, we got the meal and three hours of terrific entertainment for $40 per couple. Can't do much better than that.
Sono, I hope you're feeling better. I highly recommend Kahlua as a great cure for coughs and stuffy heads. LOL Not low carb but who the heck cares when you have a cold?
Robin, how is that "free day" system working for you? I'd be afraid it would trigger all the old carb cravings but if it works, that's the main thing.
Ruthie, great that you'll be getting a break to do your own thing once in a while. Watch out Harry doesn't get too cosy with his caretaker. You always have to watch these guys. In fact, a friend of mine who used to be a nurse said that the worst ones were the old geezers in wheelchairs. They got their entertainment trying to pinch nurses' bottoms.
Tummy, I never get a chance to sleep in but I do occasionally go back to bed after I get Peter out the door. I seem to automatically wake up between 5:30 and 6 no matter how late I stay up the night before. If I'm tired, I'll go back to bed and sleep until 8:30 or 9. I don't feel the least bit ashamed about it either. I do notice that when I'm in ketosis, I'm not as likely to feel like crawling back into bed.
Ageoldie, I haven't a clue what Bunko is, but I'm glad you had a good time. I've never had a housekeeper but I know I'd probably wear myself out cleaning before she came so that I wouldn't be embarrassed by my messy house.
Pooky, so good to see you here again. SOunds like you're just as busy as ever and preggers to boot. Congratulations. Hope those kidlets don't wear you out.
Bunnababy and Cassidy, nice to see new faces in here. I hope you'll stick around so we can get to know you both better. Bunnababy, what kind of business do you have? Cassidy, I'm always hungrier after eating something with bread so I just don't bother anymore. I guess we don't have Blimpies in our area. Just the name would scare me off anyhow after being called a Blimp most of my young life.

Linda~ the free day for me works wonders. I know that I can make it thru that craving because I know that in "2" (more or less) days I can have that. But Im eating clean carbs thru the week. Things like brown rice, legumes, oatmeal or a potato. So its not a carb shock for me on free day......its usually a sugar thing for me. But the day after free day, Im more than ready to get back to it.

Tummy~ BFL is great.....I feel wonderful and I dont have that foggy feeling I had on Atkins. The workouts arent that bad, once you get started and get into it. I dont enjoy them....I'll be honest but I only have 45 more lbs to go, and Atkins and Protein Power werent doing it anymore. I know I have to work off these lbs, they have stuck like glue. This is working for me....I feel good, and my ultimate goal is to look great naked!! So far so good. I managed thru 8 weeks the first time...but I let stress get the better of me. Im on my 2nd challenge and this time Im going to make it. I finally "get it". Im working my muscles harder and Im working the cardio harder. Im definitely feeling the difference.

Pooky~its great to see you back on the daily!

All the new folks.....WELCOME!!

Robin

Believe it or not I own an Italian restaurant. It is easier to make lc Italian than you might think and we have some really excellent people cooking for us. I just turn them lose and tell them if I want spicy or mild. I also have crustless pizza and usually have a Caesar salad daily. I love salad so that part is easy and we make everything from scratch including tearing our own lettuce.

Gotta get myself sick self parked in the recliner and watch Gods and Generals. I rented it the other day and never have felt good enough to watch it so tonight is the night.

Linda your evening sounded really great. Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Oh GAWD! The dream of my life...to own my very own Italian restaurant! I can only imagine what that would do to me. They'd probably find me in the morning drowned in a vat of leftover spaghetti sauce. LOL

It feels like a weekday for some reason. Well my free day was pretty good. We were invited to sil's for supper. She made lasagna, and basically it was a big ole cheese soup. tastey, but I couldnt find any noodles or meat! Dessert was the best, she made a chocolate peanut butter pie mmmmmmmmm Ok, so Im back to eating clean today, and Im off to make a big ole bowl of oatmeal for breakkie.

Have a great day all

Robin, what is body for life? I see references to it, but I don't know what it is. Is it a woe or an exercise program or both? Thanks in advance for your answer.
