Sleeping in? or just really busy? Well, I thought I would start the thread, since I couldnt find todays after looking many many times!! Thought I was seeing things...even hit the "refresh" button a couple times!

We bought our paint!!! YAH!!!! lol We were going to do that today, but Mom called last night and told us her and dad were coming for a visit.....so we did a flash clean of the house, and I think we are all ready!

Not much else, have a great day all!

Good morning, Robin, and all to come. Imagine me being in the henhouse so early! I had to do some paperwork for Peter before he left for the day and decided to check my games & e-mail etc. so here I am. I haven't even had breakfast yet but I'm planning bacon on a Revolution Roll. Mmmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Off to get my hair trimmed this morning at my daughter's home salon. By the way, I pay the same as her other customers. No special prices for Moms, I guess. This afternoon I have to see the doctor because of a bad pain in my left foot that wont go away. He'll probably tell me it's the arthritis which I know I have in my right foot now in my left as well. The funny thing is though, I get sharp pains in my right foot but it eases up with walking, etc. This left foot pain has me really gimpy all the time. Ouch!
Still waiting for the darned scale to drop. Grrrrr. Why does it just melt off some people but sticks like glue to me?
Anyhow, have a nice one, Chickies. Maybe catch you later.

Linda, it sticks to you and me because we are so loveable!
Just a quick chenk-in here. The Boards have been quite busy so I don't get a chance to post everywhere. I am not losing weight at the moment but my BGL is good. I may die fat but it won't be from diabetes!
Today the social worker comes to evaluate our home situation to see if we qualify for some homemaker respite care. I sure hope it happens as I would love to get out of the house for an afternoon or morning to just shop or get a haircut without having to ask friends to check Harry. They have been wonderful but, after a while, you really feel you are being too needy.
I had four slices of roast beef for breakfast. Does that mean I've switched to Atkins?
Have a super Tuesday.

Speak for yourself, Ruth. I'm not the least bit loveable. I do hope you get approved for home care for Harry. It does us gals good to get out and about on our own. Boy, if I had to depend on Peter driving me here and there, I may as w ell grow roots in this house.

Lorraine and I went to Boston Pizza for lunch because I remembered having great chicken wings there once. I had 9 chicken wings (actually more like 4-1/2 whole wings as they were split into pieces) without sauce and a spinach salad with dressing on the side. As we were leaving, I noticed a sign on the cashier's counter announcing that they do have low carb items on the menu. I checked out their suggested menu items and they included what I'd eaten. However, the grand carb total was 15.!!! I didn't eat much more than a half tsp of the dressing though, so that probably brings it down to about 10 which is still a good chunk of my daily allowance.

As we were leaving the restaurant, we noticed a McGavins Discount Bread store so we stopped in there and darned if they didn't have Healthy Way Low Carb Multigrain Bread. HONESTLY...a couple of years ago I sought in vain for any low carb products and now I swear they are jumping out of the woodwork and biting me on the ankle. Anyhow, I bought a loaf of the bread which has 7 gr of carbs per slice (5 gr net) and put it in the freezer immediately when I got home. That will be a rare treat.

Did you see the item on the news about Atkins recanting his often repeated statement that we could eat all the meat we wanted. As usual, the news has twisted things to suit their own interests. I believe you'll find the real story in the Atkins website and other low carb sites. I get an Atkins newsletter which contains the truth.
