I periodically go through plateaus in the last 32 months, either because it is winter (doctor said it is the hibernation response--metabolism slows down), or because I am exercising less, or eating more, or my body is shrinking and not losing, or my body is just catching its breath. Last year I went from September to February and only lost 3-4 lbs. My food didn't change, but my exercise did. In February I recommitted to an exercise routine and lost 10 lbs. in February. I am slowing down again with the change of seasons. For me it is okay, since I am in it for the long haul. If I lose 25-30 lbs a year, I am happy. So far I have lost 110 lbs in 32 months, but that was not in equal amounts.
