I'm back on low carb, and back here!

  • Hello to all my old friends (you know who you are) and everyone new here.

After going off plan for almost 8 months, I've been back on Atkins since last week. So much has changed in my life - I have a serious boyfriend now!! My life is totally different. Of course after meeting my boyfriend I gained back 8 of the 12 pounds I lost last year on Atkins and he gained weight too. I love to cook and he loves to eat so that's how it happened. Plus he rides a motorcycle so I am getting less exercise - I used to walk everywhere. But after trying to get into an outfit for a party two weeks ago and not fitting into anything I had, I decided to go back to Atkins.

So...I've been on induction since Monday, but not totally faithfully. I've allowed myself some cheats because I am PMSing and have decided not to 'go by the book' until after I get my period. To make a long story short my cycle has been very irregular this month. I am now two days late (but no pregnancy worries) and begging the gods in power to just make it happen already. Then I'll stop being the b**tch I've been and everyone will be happier!

The good news is that I've lost 5lbs already. I'm not going to weigh again until 2 days after 'aunt flo' comes so I can more gauge my true weight. But I just wanted to let everyone know I've been lurking here even though I haven't been on plan.

By the way, after the first four days of carb withdrawal I noticed the same pleasant changes I had the first time I did Atkins, notably - much more energy. This is the way for me to go, I just have to watch it. Can't wait to be a part of this community again. Everyone is doing great!
  • Hi, Tilly
Good to see you again and glad you've decided to go back on Atkins.
Isn't it funny how happiness can cause us to gain just as much weight as unhappiness? Why is that? Anyhow, I'm happy you've found someone special. Maybe you can get him OP too.

Congrats on the weight you've lost already. Good luck and keep posting.

BTW, join us in the Great Pumpkin Challenge which has just completed its 4th week but we still have 4 to go to meet our individual goals. It's not to late to get in on it. No prizes except your own satisfaction and pride.
