Default Chick chat Wed. Oct.1st./03

Early good morning to all the chicks that are
ready for the great new month of October. It is 4:50 am in my part of the world and I am ready to go to work. I have 2 days to work then I have a long weekend coming up. We are planing a trip around the Cabbot Trail??? Don't know if we are going yet.
I am going to Tops tonight, see how I do. I have been the same for 4 weeks.
Well time for more coffee,

The love in your heart
wasn't put there to stay.
Love isn't love till you
give it away.

Good morning. It's 5:55 here and both Dogs are ready to roll!

I do hope you do the Cabot Trail, Taz. I imagine it would be even more beautiful at this time of year.

across the Atlantic and the Mediterranean to Fullfig! Did you ever find feta cheese?

Have to go before the Girls eat me instead of their breakfasts!

Good morning Chicks!

taz- How do you like TOPS? Can you do any eating plan for that or do they have their own style of plan? I've heard the name, but don't really know much about the organization. We have one (or used to, anyway) here in town. Thanks for the info.

Ruth- have a good morning stroll.

fulfig- Are you learning the language? How exciting to be able to emerse yourself in a whole new culture! How do you deal with the culture shock? Do you have a support system that you can share with?

Another small milestone reached. I have a ring that I really like. It's a black hills gold hummingbird and flowers. I didn't wear it before I went on Atkins because sometimes my fingers would swell during the day and I can't stand a tight ring. Anyway, it's getting really loose. I play with it all day, switching it from one finger to the next. I can even get it on my thumb, although that's a tight fit. I think I measure weight loss more through things like this and looser clothing than through a number on the scale. It's somehow more tangible.

Coffees made and I have to have my first cup of the day. See ya later!

Karla

Talking Howdy ya'll!!

Back from a wonderful get away! We rented a bay house outside of Galveston and truly enjoyed it! The boys fished, we drank, the boys went boating, we went riding, the boys toured around Galveston, we had a ball! Dawn came down for a couple of days and hung out with us. There was also a huge motorcycle rally, so, of course the "big" boys brought down their toys to show off and we rode a bit. All in all a great time and I came home yesterday afternoon exhausted. It's the first time we've ever been able to do something like this and I truly gave Thanks that we're Blessed to enjoy it!

Tippur & Barb....please know that prayers have been said.

Would love to hang out longer but dh will be back any minute and this stack of paperwork next to me isn't getting any smaller by itself!

I'll check back in later!

Hugs ~ J

Hi all! I haven't posted in awhile, but I'm still hanging on. I did lose 5 #'s since I last posted. Nothing last week though. I really didn't expect to lose any since I had several things not OP. It's alright though, I am right back on and at least holding.

I'm glad to see you are back and alright Tummy. Take things easy and give yourself time to heal.

Karla, my prayers have been said for your student. God bless his heart and watch over him. That has got to be a tough situation. Congrats on your ring milestone. I have one like that too and it sure does feel good!!

Big congrats to you Karen! You are doing fantastic!!

MamaJ-your weekend sounds great! I'm here in Houston too and you sure did pick an excellent weekend for it!

Hope everyone is doing great!

Not good here - been AWALL for the last 5 days - don't know what happened - back at it today.

I'm tired from all the carbs I have consumed the last few days, plus lack of sleep doesn't help, add to that stress - CALGON take me away - and please don't bring me back - and IF you do, in a different body

At this rate - the pumpkin challenge is going to end with me still looking like a pumpkin - have to remind myself - DON'T WEAR ORANGE - DON'T WEAR ORANGE!!!!

OK - enough - back to work - I'll take all the encouragement I can get. I'm so glad all of you are doing so well!

Debra, I sure don't have to remind myself not to wear orange. It looks just ghastly on me no matter what I weigh.

Hey Turtle, good to see you back again and congrats on the 5 lb gone.

Karen, WOW !! What great stats. Keep it up.

Big hello to our own Motorcycle MamaJ. Sounds like a fun weekend for you.

Karla, that's encouraging about the loose ring but don't lose it. I had a small milestone myself this morning. I put on a woven cotton shirt that I've always had to wear open over a shell but today I was able to do up the bottom buttons.. EVEN sitting down. Ta DA!! Body Flex Rules!

It's 1:42 pm here on the Wet Coast and another gorgeous autumn day. We had thick fog this morning but it's in the 70s now.
Ruth, you sure do get up early. I hope you're having a great day.

Taz, you're another early riser. Good luck with TOPS. They are a terrific support group. I have several friends who have attended faithfully for years. I'm not into all their little competitions and gift-giving but for some people that kind of stuff works.

Well, this morning I drove through the fog to the swimming pool and put in a very energetic hour deep water jogging and other pool-type exercises. Then I came home and before I had breakfast I did my 20 minute Body Flex Workout. I had to pinch myself to believe it was really ME doing such an insane thing.
I must be coming down with something. Usually, I'm bushed after my pool workout and just want to have breakfast and perhaps a snooze. I've been on the high burner all morning. I should get out into my garden while I'm feeling so spry but it's already a bit too warm for that.
I will do another Body Flex workout before dinner. I'm really noticing the difference in how my clothes fit and yesterday when my hairdresser daughter trimmed my hair she told me I've lost the little roll of fat on the back of my head that was making the short hairs stand out instead of lying flat. Hey, no matter where it decides to go from, I'll take it....even the back of my head.

Linda, I promise not to call you a fathead! That is too funny, the places this stuff disappears from. I lost a shoe size. What's up with that??? The only thing on me I WASN'T worried about being fat! Anyway, there must be something to this yogurt/Body Flex combo you're doing. Congrats and way to go!

Debra, don't worry about your slip too much. Just dust yourself off and start brand new! Good luck to you.

Everyone else, age has set in, and I can't address you personally, but hugs to all who need one! Hope you all have a great day!

tippurr--i know about 15 words. i had to know basics to be able to communicate with the taxi drivers and stuff. the biggest culture shock was how bad salads would instantly mess me up. other than that it has been fine. once i finish unpacking, i'm gonna start working on the language again. i have a friend here that i talk with, and am making more. mostly though, i email and im with my twin, supersized. we have talked a handfull of times in the 3 months i've been here. we are used to talking almost everyday. so far the experience has been good. i'm looking forward for getting to travel around to see more. i'm anxious to visit the "7 churches" areas that are mentioned in the Bible. there is so much history here. this is truly a great opportunity. thanks for asking. i'll try to write more later. maybe i can pm you about more.
