  • Good morning!

I spoke too soon yesterday. The snake has been caught and is now in custody. There will be no trial. The sentence is 8 more months in prison and then parole (sometime in late May or early June). A Language Arts class apprehended him.

It's really chilly here this morning; 49. A precursor to fall. Hubby is off to a day at the union hall voting on contract. I'm going in to school to get ready for a sub on Tuesday. I hate to miss work. It's three times as much work for 1/2 the output by the students. They don't usually respond well to subs. I'm hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. This is a pretty good group of kids, but I remember when I was in school. I did the same things to subs that they do today. Paybacks are a booger. Have a great day!

  • Good morning! I just did the Dump Run and feel sooooo macho! There seems to be a lot of standing around and talking at our dump on Saturday mornings. No wonder H. used to like to go.

Things are about the same. I am bored and am eating too much. I have to get back oin track fast as I'm now out of ONEderland. Maybe straight Atkins for a day or two. And WATER!

I hope everyone has a good weekend and that the darn Hurricane did not do too much damage. We had just rain and high winds, no trees down as far as I know.

I judst can't change my signature stats so will leave them until Monday.
  • Ruth, I am sorry you passed Onderland. You'll be back soon! Hang in there. I know this is tough for you, and I hope it all gets better soon.

My fingers are swollen this morning after the great Pizza Hut fiasco. Did I post that last night? I went for Cody's belt graduation dinner (he made brown belt last night) and ordered salad bar, but there was a dead fly in my salad, noticed a few bites down. Soooooo, we got our whole dinner free. I went ahead and ate pizza because 1. I was starved. 2. Didn't want to ruin it for Cody with the bug thing. Now I have tight rings. I won't get on the scale for anything!

Gee, just as I was about to hit a new decade...oh well. I should be used to that! Off to the treadmill for about an HOUR.
  • Howdy all......

Well I have had a good week! Actually caught a very bad cold and felt icky most of the week, but I didn't obess about what, when and where I was going to eat. Just ate when I was hungry and made good choices. Yesterday was a stressful day at work.....lots of driving.....so it is hard to get "work" done, and I stopped three, yes THREE times on my 150 mile journey. Of course I had to get something to eat everytime. But stuck to diet pop, I know it is not the best choice, but it doesn't seem to bother me and I balance it with water, and one tme I got 2 cheese sticks, once I got a chicken breat sandwich, and didn't eat he bun, and the last time a small packet of peanuts, so all in all not bad and it was okay!!!!

Best of all today I stepped on the scale, I wasn't going to but thought what the heck, and down 2lbs! For a total of 15!

So i am going to stay the couse for now, eat low carb and continue to live the way I did when I lost the first 80 pounds! Just make wise low carb choices!

    Tonight steak and ceasar salad!

  • Morning All,

It is sunny and warm today, great end-of-summer day. DS had a soccer game this morning, they tied and the game ended just after they scored their last goal so everyone went home happy. DH and DS are off to a birthday party and DD and I have some shopping to do.

DH and DD have their birthday next weekend so I am starting to figure out details, do shopping and all kinds of fun stuff.

L and I seem to be back on our exercise routine. Drop the kids at school and get to the gym before 8am. We usually do 45 minutes of cardio and then some time in the weight room. It is definitely helping, I feel better and the inches/pounds are starting to move again. We are good M-Th and then Friday a bunch of moms have coffee right after drop off and then go and catch an early movie before we have to pick the kids back up. We have an extra large group planned for "Under the Tuscan Sun" next week

Have a good one and good luck to all of you cleaning up from Isabel!
  • Happy Saturday everyone! My round of bill paying and video/dvd returning is over, so now I get to clean the house. Yay. . . .I think. Anyway, it's okay because I slept sinfully late today, until 9 or so. Hmmm, nothing like sleeping late.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day, more exciting than mine, and that the treats stay far from your fingers! Talk to you soon.
  • Good afternoon, gang. I had planned to get to work on fall garden clean-up today but I've been chained to our home office. Then I realised I forgot to buy eggs yesterday so I have to make a grocery run for them. I hate shopping on Saturdays but can't be without eggs.
I baked up the Atkins Quick Quisine Banana Nut Muffins last night and enjoyed one with butter and a slice of cheese. Very nice and only 2 carbs. The rest are frozen for special treats. My scale is hovering at 280 so I'm very hopeful that it will take a dive into the 270s by Monday WI. This time I want a BIG dive, not just a tentative toe dipped in the 270 waters.
I've been so darned good. Carbs under 20. Calories under 1,400. Fat/Protein/Carb proportions all as recommended. More exercise than I'm used to. Something HAS to give. Oh please, please, PULLEEEEZE!!
Ruth, I know you're upset with yourself for getting out of One-derland but you have to cut yourself some slack. On the other hand, don't be too easy on yourself. I know you've been in Stressville but you know all the tricks for working through that without overindulging. LOTS of protein snacks. Lots of WATER. Try the Body Flex. I'm finding it very helpful in many ways. Hugs to you.
  • Happy Sunday everybody

Hubby and I went shopping last night to this new place called "Steve and Barry's" everything in the store was 7.98 or less!! He bought 2 pairs of cargo pants, and I bought 1, and they are a 34!!!(down one size from my jeans) and they are smaller than hubby's ....double I told him, he didnt know how happy I was to finally be in a smaller size pant than him!!!!!!!! He didnt like the fact that now his a$$ was bigger than mine Myself on the other hand thought it was absolutely wonderful. So I explained it to him so he didnt feel bad about it. He gave me big ole bear hugs in the parking lot and told me how proud he was of me. I love that man!!!! (what more motivation could a woman ask for?)

Ive just completed week 2 of BFL, and today is my free day....and yes chocolate is on the menu, as well a burger and fries from a new diner down the street from our shop. The girl who opened it used to work in the little restaurant next door, and she's ventured out on her own....so we are off to support her today I will admit, that knowing I had a free day at the end of my week, certainly made my workouts and constant cooking and eating properly worth it.

Lillybutt~ congratulations on the loss!! WTG!!

Linda~ Im proud of you!! I know how hard it is to exercise when you really really dont want to! I think its wonderful.....and it will pay off, maybe not tomorrow, or monday, but it will eventually.

    Have a great day
    Robin
  • Good Sunday morning Chickies( and rooster)
Fun MSN artical this am... http://www.msnbc.com/news/967089.asp
I will now have to try to add another 15 min to my cardio in the am, or better yet another 1/2 hour in the pm,(I am already doing an hour) but I am not loosing at all and I want to.....I hate working hard and having nothing happen so I guess I have to work harder! I also have to add back that friday or make sure I do Sat and Sunday......

I had my hair straitened on Thursday so TODAY I get to wash it! WOO HOOO
Ruth, I can sympathise with you for all the stress you are under. I think about you every day.

I have 42 here next week for Rosh Hashanah which is the jewish new year( don't ask me which one!) I also have to take older boy to temple in the am for a 2 hour KIDS service...WAY too long for my liking. I am hoping my MIL will take him (yes my Inlawaw are coming back again)...maybe this is why I can't loose any weight!

off to get older boy out the door for religious school...

  • At the Atkins & Friends website, there's a thread about yoghurt and how it's not as high in carbs as it says on the carton due to gov't regs. There is also a recipe for making your own full fat yoghurt from whole milk and all the things you can do with it. There's a lot of activity on this thread and some of them say that adding a cup of yoghurt twice a day has worked better for them than the method recommended by Dr. Atkins for getting out of a stall. (Wasn't that cream cheese and macadamia nuts?) Lower in fat too. So, tomorrow I'm off to buy a large, wide mouth thermos and some full fat yoghurt to use as a starter. By the way, they say the commercial full fat yoghurt is also only 4 gr. per 8 oz but not as good as home made. There are also recipes for Yoghurt Cheese made from well drained home made yoghurt. We will see. You'll get my report next week, I hope.
Today I did my Body Flex before breakfast and then had a hearty meal of bacon and Atkins pancakes into which I put some frozen raspberries. Served with 0 carb syrup and butter it has kept me full until now which is 3:41 pm. Amazing!
I've been working in the yard trying to do some clean-up and moving some plants around. I still have tons to do so I hope our lovely weather holds. I did notice that I'm finding it easier to do my garden chores since I've been doing the Body Flex workout. It only takes about 15-20 minutes which really isn't a big chunk of time, is it?

For anyone who is interested, here is the URL for the Yoghurt recipes. The first post explains why yoghurt is a good thing on a low carb diet.
