Default So... did anyone try the "fake ribs" I suggested?

Just wondered...

If so, how did you like them??? And be honest, lol. I have come to the conclusion that my taste in "vegetarian" food products may differ from those of a meat eater.

Some time ago, I kept telling my mom how awesome the fake corndogs were. I told her they tasted JUST like the real thing, and you could NOT tell the difference! She tried them... she did NOT think they tasted like the real thing, lol. She said they were good, but not exactly the same at all. haha.

I am curious to find out if these really are just like ribs... I think they are... as a matter of fact, I had to take a break from them... after a while, I felt like I was really eating meat, and it was hard for me to stomach... it made me feel sick to my stomach.. the smell or something. Same thing with the fake breakfast patties... OMG... TOO real!!!! I CANNOT eat those!!!!! EWWWW! They tasted like honest to goodness breakfast meat sausage patties.

Yuck...

I guess you haven't always been a vegetarian or you wouldn't know what "the real thing" tastes like. I don't remember seeing a recipe for fake ribs or are they something you buy ready-made?
I have to admire you for doing so well on the Atkins plan as a vegetarian. I'm not sure I'd be up for the challenge. I wish you continued good luck. Come join us on the daily.

You buy them... they are a GardenBurger product.

Well, I wasn't BORN a vegetarian if that is what you mean... but I have been a vegetarian for a long time now. I am just going from memory... but time does make you forget after you have been eating no meat for so long.

Oh I had these once, they were really good! I can't remember the carb count...I am thinking they didn't pass for that part. They do taste very authentic!

I was a vegetarian for 17 years, before they had all these really neat vegetarian protein alternatives. I was a veg in 79, in high school, it was really hard then. It was impossible to find veggie burgers and the only food there was Tofu. I began eating fish and chicken only when I started Lo-carbing again.

Vegetarian products are yummy, even though I don't hink that the products are necessarily ribs, they are good and satisfying.
