Hoping Ruth, that you finally found your way in the dark and will be back soon.

Got another long and fabulous day ahead, meetings, work then off to a dinner out with friends and then bowling with my staff, why ever did they pick bowling? But at least I won't mind so much now having to bend over in front of the whole group of them! But then there is still those shoes...

Otherwise, everything is great and have a much needed hair appointment tomorrow to feel all pretty and glamorous again.

OP for 2 weeks on Monday and feeling fine, oh oh, I even did that darn Nordic track yesterday for 25 minutes. That was the achievement of the week, OMG. Feeling great today minus a few stiff muscles but it feels sort of good.

Happy Friday!

WTG on the Nordic Track!

Today is the first day that I woke up without a headache. I got this headache on Sunday, and I had it every day until today. I never realised how horrible a person would feel if they had a nonstop headache for 5 days until this happened. My Dr says it was a tension headache, but I really didn't think I was that stressed.

I'm feeling great, have a happy Friday!

Good morning! Just a fly-by cos I am LATE FOR WORK! This morning was my first morning to get up before everybody else in the house just to exercise. It was a little hard, but I made it anyway. I tried Wednesday morning, and I didn't get out of bed! Waited till after work, and that was much worse.

Ruth, hope you made it home ok!

Brad, Happy Birthday!!!!

Raelynn, glad to hear your headache is gone. I've never had headaches until the last few years, and they told me tension also.

Tummy, WTG on the Nordic Track! Keep it up, girl!

See you all later........

Good morning! I hope everyone is having great morning.

I have to get ready and go to school to work on my room and see how the man I'm mentoring is doing today. I think he's sort of in culture shock. He comes from an old small town school and our school is brand new (we just moved in last year). He says his last classroom was a converted teacher's lounge. I can sympathize. I taught at a country school for several years before I came here. Some of the staff here just don't know how good they have it. The kids will be another shock for him. Country kids and city kids come with entirely different sets of attitudes and problems. They all need love and understanding, but you have to use different approaches for the different environments. Oh well, he'll learn.

I was totally OP yesterday! I had 13 carbs. I've been at or under 20 carbs a day since Monday. I don't think I'm losing any weight though. I'll find out Tuesday when I weigh. My ankles are still swollen from sitting at the computer last night waiting for my new Norton subscription to down load (4HOURS). I'm glad I only have to do that once a year.

Tummy-- have fun bowling. Way to go on that NordicTrac! I need to start exercising.

Raelynn--I'm glad your headache is gone. Hope it stays away.

Have a great day!

Sneaking in between blackouts to let you know I finally made it home by way of Montreal, a bus to Ottawa and some fancy talking to get rationed gas for my car. I drove a lady to Smiths Falls which was on my way and got home at 4 AM to a blacked out house and a very happy black dog. We will probably lose power again so I may not be around much until they get this fixed.

Welcome to all the new folks. I have lots to read but it looks like everyobody behaved themselves. On the other hand, maybe you all edited your posts.

We are not even going to mention the scale around here until Monday morning when I face the music. I did walk every day for 7000 to 10000 steps so it may not be too bad.

That walking can do wonders, Ruthie - Welcome back! What a horrible travel ordeal you had!

Happy B-Day, Brad - enjoy!

*waves* hello to everyone else!

I finally have a day at home (s/b working on Pear client's stuff, tho) w/SH gone fishing for the day, kids at school so I'm BY MYSELF! This NEVER happens around here. About a million and one plans are running around my head - don't know where to start and or what to do first!

Happy Friday!

Good Morning.. I am late checking in because I had to deal with my website newsletter today!

Happy Birthday Brad!!

Ok.. Do you all recommend only weighing in once a week? I ask because I have been weighing in every day and it gets a liitle upsetting when it doesnt move.

My official weigh in day is monday so I am going to hold out until then!

Tummy girl.. you are doing so well! I was looking at your stats!

I am going to get on my treamill here at home today! I will talk to you all later!

The everyday weighing makes you kinda nutzy and it really isn't a good gage on what is actually going on. You could weigh everyday and then average it for the week or just weigh once a week. Lots of time the scale doesn't show a loss but you are dropping inches. There is a lot of adjusting the body is doing when losing weight and getting used to a new way of eating.

We didn't put it on overnight so it won't come off overnight. When you don't show a loss, try to concentrate on the other positives of LC (energy, skin, no heartburn, reduced cravings, etc.) and just hang in there.

I would rather be this size and feel GOOD then be this size and feel horrible!

Afternoon everyone! Happy Birthday Brad!

I weighed this morning and got rather bummed out since the scale hasn't moved at all. I think that it may be due to TOM being within the next few days. I hope so. I have been havings something though that was a no-no on induction. Cool Whip on my sugar free jello. I guess since I saw that whipped topping was alright that Cool Whip would be to. I saw Jennifer's response on the crepe recipe that it was an induction no-no. So, I will use the whipping creme and try that. I am probably having to much jello anyway. I found several recipes on the board for some sweet alternatives and I will try those instead.

Tummy you have inspired me to start exercising. I think I will go walking early tomorrow morning. Also, I ordered the Leslie Sansone walking at home tapes and they should be here soon. I know one of you wonderful ladies recommended them and I wanted to say thanks. I'm looking forward to trying them.

I hope everyone's power is restored fully soon. I can't even imagine. Have a great weekend!

Thanks, everyone!

My mother made one of those cheesecakes last night, and it looks like it came out perfect! The taste test is tonight. I'll report back then!

I ended up sleeping late today, since I took the day off. Very late. Very late as in 2pm. Gack! No breakfast for me today. I did grab some leftover brisket and salad for lunch, though.

Hi gang. I'm checking in late but I had a busy morning. First to the pool for my water workout. After an hour of that my friend and I went out for Starbucks coffee and then to my daughter's for a hair cut. Lunch at Applebee's on the way home where I had Chicken Breast Caesar Salad with the dressing on the side. I could have used a lot more chicken and a lot less salad but it wasn't bad. It didn't bother me at all to watch my friend chow down on a mozzarella burger and fries.
Now I'm at home and it's too hot to do much of anything. The house stays cool if I don't cook and, naturally, I can't do housework either. Lazy lazy. I still have some stuff to do to get ready for Sunday's party but it's too early to do it. Like...why vacuum today when I'll just have to do it again Sunday morning?
Glad to hear you got home safely, Ruth. What an adventure!

OP even without power! I'm very proud of myself!

I work in NYC in a hospital where we've been in an emergency mode since yesterday afternoon. We just got power back at 3 pm, except for emergency generators for lights and refrigerators and some fans in the medical units. but everyplace was hot and awful!

But it seems to be over. Traveling is still a little rocky, no subway yet and only limited above ground trains, but I have AC at home, and that's what I want! Last night was awful, too hot to sleep, and BERRRY CRANKY!
But I ate some cold chicken, hb eggs, and pork rinds and dip, and stayed OP. today was harder at work, but not bad overall.

grateful for electricity!
