I have been on Atkins for about 9 weeks now and have never felt better - no more bloated gassy feeling and even my mental outlook is more positive than before! I feel I now have control over foods I was never able to avoid before.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you get the book...even at the library if you can, make sure it is the latest edition (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002).
If you can't then you should visit
www.atkins.com and look up the acceptable food list for Induction (first two weeks) and the rules of induction...this will explain what you can and cannot eat ( and caffeine is not recommended altho many people have no problem with it).
As for feeling better, please be forewarned that at first you will feel VERY, VERY CRAPPY!....especially if you are giving up caffeine and carbs at the same time. Your body will be going thru withdrawal and you may have headaches and nausea. BUT HANG IN THERE

after the first few days you will begin to feel better and all those carbs will stop calling your name. The goal in this 2 week period is to avoid sweets and other "bad" carbs and get those cravings under control.
