Gee, six months from today, Harry and I will have been married 20 years. Whodathunkit! I guess we need to plan some sort of celebration. Do folks do that for second marriages? Maybe a trip to Vegas?
Stayed right on plan yesterday and am back in ONEderland so I need to change my profile. This morning, before I did the scale thing, I said to myself to stop worrying about weight. Somebody said in their diary that weight is like a crappy fur coat that you will take off eventually. I wonder if that's why we call ourselves fluffy. I guess I need to decide that I'm warm enough without the tacky garment and ditch it. Turning point? Plimsol line?
I have no "musts' or "shoulds" this morning except to mail off a parcel to my DD. I am travelling very light on my trip next week and am mailing out my kiddie gifts in advance. I really don't need an extra ten pounds in my carry-on bag - or on the body for that matter! My flight from Vancouver to Nanaimo is by seaplane which is pretty tiny. (By the way, it is listed as a non-stop flight. I certainly hope so!)
The Girls are fretting for their walk so I'd better read old posts and then get outta here before it gets too hot to walk.
Wow! I think 20 years calls for a celebration, second marriage or not.
The kids played with some of their neighbourhood friends yesterday and today we're getting together with -L which the kids will love. We have appts and stuff this morning so it will be a running around kind of day.
DH is making bacon so I guess I should go start the egss...
Good Morning Ruth, sounds lke you've got things under control again--good for you!
I am still fighting the carb monster but I did do better yesterday--I'll call it half a binge. Seriously, it could have been full blown but I snapped myself out of it! Ice cream bars are evil!
Gotta jump in the shower and get Miree off to daycamp.
,I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago. We spent some time sitting by the water watching those planes take off and land. We would have taken one in Alaska but opted for the helicoptor to the top of the glacier....ahh the choices we have to make.
KFS is coming over this afternoon for a little bit and DH wants to go out to play a little golf. I have to finish the laundry today and like KFS I did a little on line school shopping. Our school has changed the dress code to everything being solids and more conservative....so the boys needed new shirts, and older boy needs new pants. It should all be here and ready to go by the time we get back from NC.
The woman who is doggie sitting/house sitting is not only a saint, but a cook as well. So I asked if she could do a little cooking for me while I am gone so that dinner will be all done when I have my company. She is such a doll and agreed to cook for me!!!!
There is a big tourney this weekend so DH will NOT be playing. I hope he will finish a few projects he has started. I want to take in a movie, and I need to pack.
Have a wonderful Wed. It is summer and there is no snow on the ground.
-L
pooky and kfs you popped in on me...morning!
Ruth, lets all celebrate!
Ruth~welcome back to onederland!! and yes, I think you should celebrate 20yrs!! Ive been thinking about my 2nd anniversary for about a week, and it isnt until november!!
Pooky~ yes icecream bars are deadly, especially when they are fresh
All the water weight I put on is finally slipping away. Im still amazed at how fast I can put on 6 or 7 lbs, and then have it come off fairly easily when I get back on my eating plan. Like Ruth said, it hasnt grown tap roots yet But its all been water, and its been the tom, so its nice to see the scale go down and the bloating finally cease! I just have to remember not to make myself crazy when it goes up and I know why.
Im doing pretty good, I have to meet up with the ex again in about 4 weeks, but Im trying very very hard not to let it get to me this time. At least I wont have the mil at the same time!! I just cant take all that stress.
Good afternoon, Chicklets. I've had a busy day so I'm sorry to be just getting in here in the late afternoon. Whew, man, is it ever hot here. We are not used to this kind of sizzle on the Wet Coast. Of course, not being too bright, I was out running errands. My, the bank felt lovely and cool as did Safeway. Too bad the car seat burnt my backside when I got back in.
I still have some plants sitting in the garage waiting to be planted and it's even too hot in the garage for them. It's too hot outside for new plants but perhaps if I get them out in the evening and then make sure I keep them watered, they just might survive. I have to take the chance as they will die if they roast in the garage.
Trying to get caught up on paperwork. I have my bookkeeping guru coming tomorrow morning to give me a hand and I'm hoping that all the outstanding stuff will get cleared up for good. I haven't done a bank recon in six months because I couldn't get January's to come out right. What a duffus!
Hello everybody, just a pop-in to say hello. I've had a very long day...
Went to the doctor and the ovaries are good for another 3 months. The good thing is my left cyst went down by about half. Bad news is I have a new one on the right! She wants 3 more months on the pills, and then see where we are. Hopefully no surgery!
I am starting to nod off...I need a glass of ice water, then I'll come hang out some more.
Ruth, can I share your anniversary? It seems I can't log 30 minutes on a relationship, let alone 20 years! Well, I digress, 9 years is catching up, huh? Anyway, do something outrageous, and don't forget to tell us all about it!
It's been a fun, fun, FUN day here. Details maybe tomorrow, I'm going to crash! Talk to you then!
