Happy Birthday,
America The Beautiful!
/**/*/*/**/*/*/**/*/*/**/*/*/**/*/*/**/*/*/**/*/*/**/*/*/**/*/*
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday! My American flag will be hung in 15 minutes - it was too darn hot to do it last night. We'd run it up the flagpole but it's bigger than the Canadian one and that would never do!
We are still in our heatwave with no relief in sight. I love our AC but am feeling rather guilty over the energy it consumes! Also guilty because so many folk in the village don't have it.
Harry and I went to the doc for his re-check yesterday. Jack congratulated ME on keeping H's BGL under control. No further cancerous spots have appeared but we will have to keep a close watch on his skin. Now maybe he will wear a hat outdoors.
I got sucked in to doing some pre-Fair work yesterday. Linda who is the rookie Secretary Manager was close to tears yesterday when I popped in for a poster so I helped her with some of the office tasks for an hour or two. Harry says this is the thin edge of the wedge so I'd better watch it! The "new" Treasurer hasn't shown for over a week so that's another worry. It seems to me I had $$$ work to do every day for the three weeks leading up to the Fair. Hold firm, Ruthie!
We will do a bit of hoeing this morning before it gets way to hot to be outside. The dogs love it when we work in the garden - they lie on the grass in their yard and watch us or loaf on the deck. Whoever said "It's a dog's life" must have meant a good one!
Have a wonderful day!

I think that I am stressing and having anxiety about the basketball weekend away. DH is not able to go at least until Sunday and I am not used to traveling so far without another grown up in my vehicle. Two or three 16 or 17 year olds only count 1/2 each.
I struggle with anxiety at times anyway so this will be a challenge for me. Fortunately we will caravan and there will be others if I need them.
