Another question about Induction

  • Actually, I have so many questions but I promise I won't bombard you with all of them at once.

Is it okay to drink Green Tea while in Induction?
  • no problem
  • EXCELLENT CHOICE
Green tea is really good and supposed to help the metabolism...just make sure it's decaf as per the Atkins plan (supposedly caffeine does cause insulin spikes so you should avoid it).

I did give it up, cold turkey at first, but had a terrific headache for two days (due to going off carbs, sugar and caffeine at the same time). I then started slowly "weaning" myself off by mixing regular and decaf coffee.

I am now basically caffeine-free, except for the occasional "real" coffee when the situation is such that no other choice is available.

I have splurged and bought some great decaf at Starbucks (sumatra, dark roast, very rich and flavorful), and with real cream I am in heaven!

    Froufy
  • I found a lovely green tea that is made with green tea, mint and stevia leaves. Just heavenly
  • I usually buy the Tazo Green Tea from Starbucks or a Chai Green Tea (can't remember the brand). I was wondering about it though because of the caffeine and the whole Induction thang.

I miss my Starbucks lattes (even though they were non fat). I don't know why but I never thought to get decaff. I think I might just do that this afternoon. At least the very least, it will force me to go for a 20 minute walk.
  • JUST A REMINDER....
no milk allowed on inducation...only cream...not sure what is in the latte...but if it is milk, you may need to ask for cream instead? or get something else???

    Froufy
  • Froufy, I haven't had a latte since I started Atkins. I went cold turkey on the coffee. I don't think I had a problem with caffeine as I haven't seemed to suffer any side effects. I just miss the taste of them.
