Good Morning Dottie and all you beachy chicks!:cbg:

We also had a total deluge lasst night - I had gone to a concert with some pals and opted out of going to dinner:) (thoughts of the SBD) - by the time I got home I was holding up my left pant leg up (it had gotten wet around the hem) to keep it from pulling down my slacks! yikes!

Looks like we're in for some more rain today - eesh. After that, we're due for a heat wave this week! grrrr - my fav temp is in the 70s - after that iti's all a bad hair day.

At noon I'm meeting some friends who are taking me for a belated birthday brunch - another challenge - but I feel pretty determined to stay on the beach... I'lll let y'all know - hope it won't be with a red face though.:)

Here's a quote I picked up from my 'other' board:

"... the point is that every day, from the time your clockradio rouses you to the time you snap off your bedside lamp, you face a hundred tiny weight loss choices. Some are more signifcant than others, but all of them add up. Over time, yout choices shape you.

Literally."

Have a Beach of a day all (and I mean that in the best possible way! :D)

cheers,
Anna

Good morning, Operadog and Dottie - and a big welcome Operadog!

A quick post as my tub is running - vanilla this morning!

I worked all day at the Church yesterday and we got tons done. I was outside stripping an antique door with a heat gun - very carefully! You are somewhat awed when you see the royal seal of George III on a lockplate! Anyhow it went well although I am barely half finished. It was a gorgeous day to work outside - and avoid the sanding dust in the Church.

This morning at 6 I went over to dust the pews and set up the altar for the service. Doug, friend Claire's DH, showed up and swiffered everything. What a great group we have!

Porch time this afternoon for sure although I do have to water at the Fairgrounds. Hmmmm - shall I pray for rain?

Have a good Sunday, chickies.

hi everyone!!! not a whole lot to say. except that dottie has my sympathies, with all that house stuff. it'll end. i promise.

the sinus infection is clearing up, thanks to DRUGS and i found a perfect gift for my goddaughter's college graduation. she's such a good kid. she's starting at one of those big accounting firms in nyc soon, so i got her a nice portfolio and a pen.

in addition to all the sock knitting, i found some stamped cross stitch pillow cases lying around. unstitched. not my favorite task, but it's easy, and they'll be pretty when finished. linda: your quilting ambitions sound, well, ambitious! but it sounds like it'll be lovely when done.

for today, laundry, groceries, a stop at the avenue because i have major discount coupons. don'[t really need anything, but a good sale??? can't resist!!!!

and a visit to the nursing home to check on mom's friend. rumor has it that she's much better. she's been incarcerated in either hospital or nursing home for something like 4 months now!

and a stop at peachie's i hope. that little guy is such a cutie. big smiles and hugs and all...

have a great day, ya'll...

Morning Everyone! Dare I say another sunny day here in IL. Sorry about that you East Coasters--I think I saw on the Weather Channel that you have had like 8 out of the last 12 weekends with rain--what a bummer! We actually could use some rain here--DH is actually setting the sprinkler to water the front lawn and he NEVER does that!! My Body Flex box came yesterday so I am going to take my measurements  and get started on it. I will let you know if the inches lost in 7 days goes like they say.
DH scored a big one for the family yesterday! One of the people he does business with came up with 3 free tickets to see Fleetwood Mac tonight!!! I am soooooo excited! I have always loved that group. I had wanted to go to the concert, but tickets are like $125 dollars a piece and that wasn't going to happen. Of course it will mean another trip to the "Big City" through all of the road construction, but hey what the heck!

Welcome OperaDog!

Ruth, sounds like your project at church is going well.

Linda, good luck with the sewing room and quilt blocks.

Dottiie, my mom and dad redid their back porch and turned it into part of their kitchen a few years ago. This wood floor had seen decades of wet boots, paws, snow shovels etc. and the floor looks gorgeous--I would never have believed it. I'm sure that your floors will be great!

Jif, glad you are feeling better.

Hello to everyone else and have a wonderful Sunday!!

Hi all even with a horrible day I am still Op (although a small dish of icecream did enter my mouth) I had nothing else with carbs today. I am still OP!!! WHOOO HOOOO

I start my new job officially in the morning!!! I am nearly scared shi#less, but still excited too. I have many plans but not untill I assess how things are going. I do not want to start in changing things unless they are needed to be changed. I am tired. I just put n a long day today not long too much in hours but in mental stuffl just pulled in many directions!!! Not the best since I worked last eveing till MN heard the power was going to be out and managed to not sleep hardly at all so when trying to get up for work in the morning it was not so easy. so brain power was at a weak point.

Well girls have a great day!! I will check in tomorow and let you know how the new nurse manager is doing. I still will miss my people. I had someof them cry for me the other day!!!
