The Cluck - Hump Day, June 18

  • Starting us up. Coffee (both kinds) is on the deck.

The white peonies are just opening this morning. I love them! They are the old-fashioned ones with the peppermint stripe here and there! I am off to pick a bouquet while the Girls romp.
  • Good morning Ruth,
I bet those flowers are just loveley.
Well we got the biopsy back for molly. it is a moderate growing cancer. the margins were clean, but it only takes one cell.....

So we wait and see. She could never get it back, or one could be growing now. DH has decided,it is his dog, that he does not want her to suffer and that he does not want to take drastic mesures like chemo or radiation.....

So off to take the kids to a golf lesson and do a wo while they are there, and then I would like to take them to finding nemo this afternoon.

    have a good day,
    -L
  • Morning Everyone!

Quick post this a.m. and then hopefully back this afternoon or evening. DS and I are heading down to the town I teach in (about 50 miles away) to help out with the Summer Reading Program. It is about a 2 hour deal. The kids love to have DS come down--he is really good with the young ones. Then we are stopping out to see a friend of mine and take a VERY late birthday gift to her. After that a few quick errands and then we have to back here to drive members of the basketball team up to the WAY BIG city for a basketball game. Not looking forward to it--there is so much construction that all of the ways that I know how to get to this place are rerouted! They don't like to make it easy on us. Anyway, hoping to get back here for a bit later and catch up on everyone!

    Ruth, the flowers sound gorgeous!

    L, prayers to Molly

Hello to everyone else as they get here this a.m.!!!
  • Just a super fast one for me this morning--today is Miree's preschool graduation! We are gussied up and ready to go in a few minutes. Unfortunately dh had a last minute meeting thrust upon him for 10 so he can't make the grad part but he will be there for the barbeque afterwards. I have tofly by his work and pick up the digital camcorder to record all the day's events!

    Have a good one everyone!
  • COOKIES FOR BREAKFAST
    Morning all!
Yes I was drinking my coffee and shoveling cookies in mouth this morning while reading the paper--I'm a mess!
Seems like this time every month, I am filled with anxiety, and I EAT-EAT-EAT-I cannot even say it is PMS because I am soooo irregular that I may feel this way for a week then not start for 2 more weeks, it majorally BITES!
There is a teeny baby fly that will not leave me alone this morning-it just keeps buzzing around me and you know how hard those bugers are to catch!

Not much planned today-gonna go and clean at grandma's then maybe swim for awhile to relive some stress!

    Xanax anyone?? LOL

    Miss D
  • Hey! Where is everyone today?

L144S - sorry the news was not better for Molly. You DH seems to have a sensible attitude. Let's hope Molly has many more years before you have to make a painful decision.

Pooky, graduation day for Miss Miree! I bet she will be adorable! Too bad DH could not make it but it's great you can record it.

AdoAnnie, good luck in the BIG city. Where exactly is the BIG city. I notice you don't have a location on your profile - maybe it's Delta?

Miss D. - hey! I hope the swimming and cleaning chez-Grandma relieved some of your stress. And bash that damned fly!

I gardened for two hours, then took a lovely bath and went to my music lesson. I had to drive past the Chinese Buffet and did NOT go in! I ended up with a Thai Chicken Salad at McD's and felt very virtuous!

Morna and I had a long chat about Lucy's show business carreer and decided not to show her until next Spring. That is a great relief as now I can get her clipped down instead of keeping her in show cut for the summer. Swimming is **** on PWD coats! I must admit I am very relieved. Morna has way too much going on at the Kennel this summer with 7 dogs on the show trail. She is also dealing with a very ill mother and a real jerk of a narky father so this is for the best. So LUcy can play in the pool and the mid and just be a dog for another summer. Suits me to have my teenage puppy around instead of off at boot camp for show dogs.

I have to go and nag DH about putting the tuna steaks into a marinade. BBQ again tonight. I will make the fennel dish from Suzanne Somers cookbook - it is just yummy and tastes like carbs.

See you tomorrow but I'll snoop tonight.

It IS Hump Day but where the heck is everyone? Is it a statutory hiliday in the States?
  • Ok, Ruth, I will post instead of just lurking. You guilted me into it. It is hump day, thank God. It is dreary, damp and cold here AGAIN and I am stressed to the hilt. Miss D, I would join you with the cookies, although I prefer the drive thru Dunkin Donuts 2 blocks away!

Actually did OK today. Not OP, not even sugar free, but OK> I am on edge, I just need the comfort foods... but am trying for veggies and meat, and had fruit for b'fast and lunch rather than donuts or bagels.

Not much happening here. Ruth, our peonies are huge but there has been so much rain that they droop to the ground immediately! I am going to have to split them and move some to the new house, I love them for cutting. We have the whites like yours and some really hot pink double petal one that get huge.

Hi everyone else- L, I am sorry about your pup- we love them alot, don't we?
Hi, Pooky, how was graduation? Post pics! My DN had the last softball game of the season, and they won! what excitement! Parents of 8 year old girls sure can get loud- and the kids had fun, too!
Annie, hope your day was good, and the drive easy!
  • I was planning a lurker day today too

Been under alot of stress lately, all having to do with the store, the ex, and planning summer activities for and with my daughter, around the store. I want her to have fun, and not be bored at the store, etc etc. Hubby has been wonderfully supportive, I just dont like complaining to him about anything all the time. He might start to think thats all I do When things get really bad in my own head, he always comes to the rescue.

We got a shipment in at the store today, and I ended up having to remerchandise the entire store. I have a corner shelving unit that I made about a year ago, out of twigs that has been leaning, and getting worse. Well today I thought I would try to fix it. I think I made it worse. So tomorrow I'll take it apart and use the pieces for a twig table that we will raffle off this weekend for the sidewalk sale. Now without this unit, I had to do some fancy filling, and ended up redoing the whole store to get it just right (nope, Im not anal)

Now Im going to sit with my email listing for the store, and send out an ad about the sale, and raffle, and happenings on the avenue. Time to get creative again.

Pooky, I hope you enjoyed the graduation. They are so cute at this age

L, Im so sorry to hear about Molly

Ruth, thanks for the sit on your porch this morning.

    Have a nice evening everyone
    Robin
