  • Yea it is me starting the thread for the weekend. I am up this time as I have not gone to bed. I just got home from the b-game and am tired but have tons of clean up to do before they destroy the entire house this weekend. DH again is stupid and I refuse to talk to him. I am really angry but there is not much I can do.

So he is going to get the cold sholder and that will make him stand up and tak heed! It usally does, but he does not like talking it out. so unless he realizes it really bothers me he will not change. Well anyways. I am tired and need to find my sink before it gets lost this weekend. If I do not check in for a few days I am busy with work and home. I amOP for 1 1/2 weeks I am excited!!! I have nto weighed myself and have no idea what I am now (except my start weight)

Well If you have not guessed. I am tired.

    Welcome back sherry!!

    and Hi to all!!!
  • OK OK OK you lazy bones!! I am up and ready for work where are you guys???

coffee is hot and MMMMMM good. Eating my breakfast of a few soft boiled eggs. cold as heck as i refuse to turn up the heat and when I am tired I get cold easy. I will not be up late tonight I can promise you that. I have been laying in bed waiting to get up. You know how when you are afraid you willover sleep you do not get any??? Well that was me last night. I will have to be extra careful today so i do not miss any meds. 12 hour shifts were a wonderful idea when i thought i would be working only 3 days but doing 12 hours and working 5 is killing me!!!
  • Aw, Sue! I wish we lived closer so I could just grab you away from all that and sit you on my front porch in a big wicker chair with a squishy cushion and look after you! Want me to come down there and kick butt for you? Believe me, I'm expert!

Yesterday turned out to NOT be a rainy day but it was still to wet to work in the garden. I did get out there late in the afternoon to check things out and pick some asparagus for dinner. Darn it all! Frass! I have asparagus beetles! I think they are a result of improper garden clean-up this spring. slapping self on hand Oh well, I can buy asparagus at the Farm where I get my eggs.

I worked in two (count them!) walks yesterday with Hershey. She actually had a run over in the Fairgrounds - off leash, of course, as I don't do runs! The scale shows a bit of a drop this morning and my blood sugar is 5.1 so I have to admit exercise does work. Now I need to keep my rear in gear!

Harry is doing the dump run this morning and is then going to bottle wine. I have Kevin the Lad coming shortly to finish some trim around the bathroom vanity. I sure have been dragging my butt on that project! Bill the Man and Chas the Lad are coming to paint next week and the darn thing will be done. I know I bit off more than I could chew - or more than my shoulder and wrists could stand!

I am off for a quick bath and off to the Greenhouse after Kevin arrives. It's a dull day but not raining so we will probably be busy.

I hope everyone has a good weekend and is not too weary. Sue can be weary because she is working her *** off!

  • sort of weary, but happy it's the weekend!
I'm trying to break into the day slowly, just sipping coffee and not moving too much!
I have not been sleeping well, a lot of insomnia this week; mostly house closing/house-fixing-up/moving issues. My lists have sub-sections and sub-sub sections. can't wait for this to be over!

Today is just to get some packing done, and pick up a few things to eat next week. DM is having a party at her house tomorrow, and that will shoot the day. She and her DH bought a new boat and they are celebrating. Who cares? I'd rather stay home than socialize with their friends and his kids. But, I made a manicure appointment for tomorrow morning and maybe I"ll look for some shoes- my winter flats are looking pretty bad, and it's too cool and wet for really summer-y sandal-y things. Other than that, it's quiet here...

hope you all are having a restful UN-weary weekend. Sue, SIT DOWN!!!!

I'm sure I'll be back later!

  • Erll, we are off to the races!!! I've always wanted to say that, and this time I really mean it. We are manning a booth at a BIG National Mustang Race Event. One of the companies we buy from wanted to have a booth and since they are in CA the said if we woul mann the booth for them they would provide the tent, the tables and all the charges, and we could put out watever banners, advertising, catalogs, etc we wanted to. It's a new experience for us, I'll let you know how it goes. Of course DH keeps tellm me this will be a different crowd than I'm used to at the antique shows we used to do...

RUTH If we are having a contest to see who's diet book collection is the biggest, Make sure it a great prize. I'm a shoo in to win. I'll match my collection with anyones!
  • Good Morning Ladies

Sue......I have an idea.......ask your hubby for some money,(dont use your own ) tell him you want to treat yourself. Then go hire a maid for a day. But dont clean up before the way Ruth does Sit while she/he (if its a he, get a cute one) sit while he's cleaning, and relax!!!!!!!! Oh, and tell everyone they arent allowed in the house for at least 6 hrs after he is done.....just so you can enjoy your house, and quiet time all to your self. Your working too hard girly. Take some "me" time and take it soon!

Ok, well, Ive managed to stay op for a couple days, and ive lost 2 of 6lbs I put on. Man I hate this rollercoster!! Ive cut out pretty much all my extra fats except for one egg in the afternoon, and the butter on my veggies. Im still on atkins, but a much lower fat intake. We will see if this works, and keeps me loosing once I hit 194 again. I will also add a bit more exercise when I get there too.

Not much else to report.......I hope everyone has a great weekend

    Robin
  • *YAWN* I'm ambling in a little late. I'm even happier than the kids that it's the weekend and we don't have to dash out the door. I let them work on getting square eyes from the TV while I actually slept in

DH is away until Tuesday so we are having a lazy weekend. Reading the cluck has inspired me - I COULD ACTUALLY MAKE COFFEE AND ENJOY IT TODAY!! Usually it is such a rush out the door I don't bother to brew a pot in the morning but a nice leisurely coffee is just the thing. Y'all lead me into such decadence

I managed to mow the lawn before the rain returned last night and it is sunny for now so we need to get out and take some photos for DD school project before the rain moves in again.

Well off to finish excavating the kitchen while the coffee brews...
  • Rainy day in Slugsville here too--didn't get my hiney outof bed till 10am. Poor dh was on kid duty--she was up at 6! I'm taking her to see Finding Nemo at the matinee this afternoon so dh get get some shut-eye. Other than that, just hanging out....

Sherrie, glad to see you back hon!

Sue, hope you find some time for yourself this weekend

Dottie, enjoy your time for your mani!

Ruthie, glad to see that bit of exercise sure helped!

    Have a great day everyone
  • Hi all,
I am finally coming out of the fog of the last few weeks.

The boys had a movie night at the karate place last night so DH and i wen out for dinner alone. I managed to stay OP for the last 2 days. I am back on high fiber low fat WW. I felt better yestedy so maybe this is a good sign. I am in a higher weight bracket now so i get a few more pionts It makes it better. I have not been to the gym in a few weeks so it is my goal this week to get it in, even if it is at home. I saw the owner of the curves in town yesterday and she is guilting me to come back....

I broke a nail so off for a monicure and pedicure when DH gets back from golf.

Have a good afternoon, and again, stay dry!
    -L
  • Pooky can I go with you to see Nemo? It looks so cute.

I'm off to the library for research materials. We're not leaving for vacation until Monday afterall, so I have some extra time.

Everyone seems to be getting manicures but me. I think DH needs to fork over some money and I'll go too. LOL
  • Hi Everyone!! I am once again on summer vacation-as of Friday and I am hoping that you will take this wayward 3rd grade teacher back! I see many familiar "faces" here and am hoping to get caught up with all of you. I miss you all so much during the school year, but some how the computer gets lost in the midst of just keeping the old head above the water of daily life. Glad there are so many still here and hope that you will have me back!! I've missed you all!
  • welcome home, AdoAnnie!!!!!!

    great to see you!

    peach
ps....hey sherrie...good to see you too!
  • ruth your porch sounds like a great idea!!! I wish I could do that. DH is really stupid!!! but what is new. and it would really help if he knew how I felt about work. I am a part of a team not the only one. and that means a lot. the girls work as hard as i do, with the exceptin of a certain few. but that is another story!!

Robin your idea of locking them out of the house for a while will be nice especially if I pay him OT and have him in the house for a while. (male cleaner) that is!!

Pooky this weekend is out. I am begging anyone tot ake some time from me. but I am stuck with all that time.

i found a male in the house that loves me!! the dog!! he will not leave me alone!!! licking me while i was trying to type!! LOL EEEWWWW big doggy spit!!

Annie of course we will always take you back just cuz you can not get to the puter all the time..... we still love you!!
  • Well, I'm the last one in, as usual. I didn't even turn on the puter this morning. I decided today was the day I tackled my front borders and I was going to stick to it no matter what. I managed to put in about 5 hours and got a lot done but there are still some weeds and still some plants that have to be moved or removed totally. I discovered that it's not my back that hurts it's my hips. Oy! A soak in my jetted tub sure felt good when I finally called it quits.
Sue, I don't know what your dh is doing that is so stupid. I must have missed a post or two. I think you need Ruth's chicken purse to whack him with.
AdoAnnie, good to see you back with us again. Yep, it's the same old gang with a few lively newcomers to keep us honest.
Well, I braved the scale this morning and I've lost all that I gained on my rather lengthy carb binge. I still have about 12 lb to lose from my Christmas weight gain (sigh) but I'm getting there. This South Beach Diet promises that you'll lose belly fat first. I sure hope that's true.
My blood glucose hasn't improved as much as Ruthie's but it's getting closer to high normal than it has been.
And guess what! I'm beginning to lose my carb cravings. In fact, I haven't been very hungry at all. This is a GOOD THING!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Tomorrow I have to clean this house. Yuck. How can it get so dirty with just two of us? Sue, when you finish with Raoul, you can send him here. I could use some help with vacuuming and dusting....and whatever else we can come up with. hehehehe
