Morning chicks, snowed last night, -11, and my ears have bugs in them[they hurt].
It is going to be one of those days. Lucy [the cat] thought she should be prouncing around since 3 am this morning. At 4:30 I could stand it no longer.

Gina-Holland oHHHHHHHHH

Well chicks, I will check back later as I want to read some more threads.

It is Friday!!!!!!!!!
This is no longer weigh in day so I am off to a good start. My parents are coming for 3 days and I am frantically cleaning every spot in the house. I know with 6 kids it will not look that way in three hours but it makes me feel better.
Went out to supper at Ponderosa last night and enjoyed a very low carb meal. It is not the best food in the world but at least I didn't have to cook!!!
Any of you cross stitchers use a stand up loom(I think that is what it is called)? A friend loaned me one but I am not sure I am using it right. I cant get the aida cloth in tight enough.

Pooky congrats! Public Speaking terrifies me. My mom made me join the team in high school because I stuttered and she thought it would help with my confidence--NOT! It was just something else to discuss at therapy 10 years later! I have to give a toast at my SIL wedding this Fall and I know it will take a few drinks.

Speaking of which anyone know any great ideas for wedding favors? The candles and candy have been way over done in our family. I thought that Bride and Groom cookies would be cute but SIL not cracked on the idea.
Off to dust!
Have a wonderful Friday!
Tammy

A quickie this a.m. because Kevin is supposed to start early.

Tammy, for my neice's wedding, I made jars of herb jelly and jam. They were small 4 ounce ones that I decorated with a pretty fabric top, thin ribbon and a sprig of tiny flowers or herbs. They were a huge success and looked lovely on the table. This was a sort of Marth Stewart country wedding so they were perfect. Nobody left their favours on the table at the end of the reception so I guess they were a hit. I made them over the summer and had a decorating blitz with my aunts to finish them. That might work for you.

Gotta go. Back later.

Good Morning Ladies

Pooky, congrats, Im glad it went smoothly for you

Tammy, Ive seen small trees (really small, still in peat pots) given as wedding favours (both worked for the natural resources) or, pocket stones or hearts with sentiments on them placed in an organza pouch.

When it rains it pours, hubby is going to be very busy the next week. A client came into the store yesterday and wants a really big job done yesterday lol.

Ive had a few new reps in the store with their catalogues and new stuff, I love all the samples Makes you want to spend heaps of $$$$$ but we need to hold off until Bush decides what he's going to do.

Ive been staying OP with some new added carbs and it seems to be working very well......so far. Ive added melon and berries and cottage cheese. Im still having a hard time getting past the texture of it...never really liked it lol but mixed with strawberries and a teaspoon of splenda its pretty good and very filling.

I hope everyone has a great day

Default Grrrrrr

I went to the knee doctor yesterday and I have to have more surgery on my knee,, I'm not a happy camper about this one. Even though it will be done orthoscopically it's still susrgery. They are going to have to shave off part of my bone that had formed around the metal kneecap. It is giving me pain when i stand (the actual movement of standing up) and they said if I don't have it done it will get worse!!! And I was blaming ole alvin's new truck!!!

I've done pretty well with my eating this week. The only bad spot was when i went by my Mom's after work yesterday. She had just picked up Dad's death certificate and was having a good cry and there were a stack of homemade cookies on the table. Well, it could have been worse!!!

Mornig chickies!!

Well, last night was a total bomb!
Dh or should I say SHDH and I are not in a good place right now! I cannot please that man--and truthfully, I'm getting tired of trying. A little history--I have ALWAYS worked--I worked before I met hime-during both pregnancies and after-after daughter2 and DH had secured a good job with benifts it was discussed, and through HIS prompting we decided I needed to stay home with the kids, as sitter prices and snow days and sick days--it was getting to be to much!! So now here I am not quite 2 years later-and royally regretting that decision! The comments--about me not having a job--and him work work working so I can spend his money--Yea right!--It is getting soooo very tiresome! And to make matters worse--I am NOT I repeat NOT Betty homemaker! My house is lived in--not dirty-but with 2 kids and me home most of the time-it is lLIVED in--well, he expects perfection--not gonna get from me!! Sorry guys--did not mean to dump--my life though--grrrrrr.......

Well does it count if since the day was already ruined--I drank a leaded diet pepsi I'm sure it does--my willpower sucks!

BTW--loved the thread noranora!!!

Pooky--since I suffer the same disorder you do--and even with the help of medication I could not do what you did--you are my hero!!

Ageoldie--I am a stress eater too--forgive yourself the cookies and move on!

Ruthxxx--I wish I 'd been at that wedding!!

Well girls--off to meet my mom for lunch!

See ya
mis

Good morning coopsters! I'm so glad it's Friday. I've managed to get to the gym 2 nights in a row, and I'm so sore. Having a hard time accepting the old muscle weighs more than fat issue. I've been so very good and I gained .25 pound. I think I'm getting better at this gym thing because it's rained for a week solid. No fun to go home and look at my flooded back patio. This weekend I hope to get some more gardening done.

I'm off to do some work *boo, hiss*.

Finally some good news in my world -

My mom just called and said that they did more testing on my Grandpa and have just done:

A colonoscopy - found nothing except divertiticulitus
A Broncoscope - Cleared his bonchitis from the lungs
A stomache scope - (she didn't remember the name) and found a bleeding ulcer, probably what's causing the bleeding from his mouth.
Several Catscans
A chest X-ray, and other various tests and found ......................NO CANCER!

Whatever cancer was in the cancerous lymph nodes they remove 2 weeks ago either was all there was or (my theory) my families prayers were answered. My Grandma is very religious, not in the pushy, "I'm better than you because I'm religious" kind of way, just in a very spiritual way that makes her really special. She truely lives a life that serves as an example to others. Anyway, I believe that God answered her prayers. Not that the rest of us weren't praying, but if anyone is the world's prayer would be answered it would be hers.

Hi everybody!
I've decided not to weigh myself until next Wednesday's weigh-in, and I'm relieved that I'm not on the scale 2x a day. I was a baaaad girl at lunch today---it was a buffet, and I'll say no more about it! hehe.
My parents and grandparents will be here tomorrow, so lots of extra chores today. I'd hate for my Mom to able to write her name in the dust!
Dyan--that's great about your Grandfather! Prayer does work!
Ageoldie, sorry to hear about your knee.
Everyone else, have a great day!
Annette

So after a long and involved week, I can safely sit down and B-R-E-A-T-H-E!!! Took the dog for her 3rd round of shots this morning and the vet says she's in excellent shape and asked me if I was going to breed her. I said no so we are planning a spaying for next month. Took the vacuum cleaner in to be repaired and the belt on it was busted, hence no sucking power! LOL Picked up M at daycare, dh came home early and we all went out to do a few errands. This weekend I am planting my sprouting bulbs and doing MAJOR housework! Dh is going to take M tobogganing this weekend so she'll have a blast!

Dyan, I am so glad to hear the good news about your grandpa here's more prayers for continuuing good health!

nettie, do you get the white glove test? I thought I was the only one! LOL

Oh Rachel, you said the magic words--cotton candy. I LOVE that stuff!

Miss, I went through 2 years of anxiety **** and have worked my way through it. I have been med free since November and knock on wood, I seem to be doing well. And I think you and I share the same dh!

Barb, I am so sorry to hear about your knee, but listen to the doctor and you'll get through this, Iknow you will (((HUGS)))

Robin, I would love to visit your shop one day, sounds like it is chock full of all the stuff I like!

Tammy! I remember Ponderosa from when I went to university in Regina! We don't have them here in Ontario (or maybe we do but they get overlooked since there are billion other places to eat) I used to love the buffet, it was great!

to everyone flying in and out and hope you all have a great weekend!
