Happy Valentines Day Chicks.
It is 5:35, -19, and i am driving myself to work as DH took the day off. I know it will go fast as the rest of the week did. Reading yesterdays posts and must say the best thing I read was that a peanutbutter egg has only 9 carbs???heehee.

Hope you all feel better today, love to you all,Tazcat

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
I hope you guys feel well enough to celebrate today!
Hubby actually put alot of thought into my gift this year. He gave me the children's book-The Little Engine That Could. It is the one where the engine says "I think I can". Inside he wrote it is for those times when I am ready to give up. I am still crying!
I had no idea a peanut butter egg had only 9 carbs. I know how hard it is to resist all of the treats. I know my will wont hold out today. I already had two boxes of choclates come in from the kids. Hubby is trying to eat as fast as he can!
I doubt I will get back today. Say a prayer that I will make it through the afternoon with 15 little ones!
Have a happy day!

Happy V-Day!! Hope you all get warm hugs and some special treats today. I have not, but it is early yet. Oh, and for some reason I feel pretty good today, I guess I was just worn out yesterday. So, I will be going to work. Then off to pick up my tax check FINALLY and car shopping this weekend. Wish me luck girls, I need a new one badly!

Talk to you all later, have a wonderful day!

Got a warm hug and some new bubble bath this morning plus lots of licks! You can guess who gave what!

Still in chaos as the back room flooring did not get glued down yesterday but it does look great! Just like maple hardwood flooring! This morning it's too cold in that room to glue so I have heaters in there blasting away. The alternative was to re-install the woodstove and I could not find my Wonder Woman belt this morning. It was -34C outside and 5C indoors! I will look like the Michelin woman when I go out today! I hope by tonight to have everything back in that room because I am finding it a tad crowded in the kitchen with all the furniture!

Lucy got her show cut yesterday and looks fabulous! She is no longer my furry wee baby but a grown up dog. It was kind of like the first haircut for my son! Maybe her behaviour will improve!

Need to go shower and get dressed properly for the day. I wrestled heaters up from the basement in my jammies and they look like I've been in a coal mine!

Welcome to all the new folks.

Anybody want to schedule a chat sometime?

Happy TGIF!

Morning All!!

Yup--I was not lying about the Reese PB egg--I have a book I bought at Walden's book store--it is the 2003 edition of America's Best Calorei-Fat & Carbohydrate Counter!--I have not eaten a P.B. egg yet I'm afraid of the after--post traumatic stress!!

Well--despite my back I ended up doing 1-1/2 miles on my tread mill last night--I still hurts thoug--a hot shower is in order in a few minutes!

TammyFancy--What a wonderful present!! Your husband is a genius! that was such a sweet story--it makes me smile!

It was hard enough when dd brought home 2 boxes of candy bars to sell--carmello--hershey's--reese cups--I resisted--but now they are bringing home bites size snickers--and hershey kisses--those are REALLY dangerous as you THINK you are not getting very much--but you are!!

Well--I gotta go to Wal*MArt!

see ya --oh and HAppy Valentine's Day!!

Default Happy Valentines Day!

Ive been abducted by the sugar monsters!! Im seriously considering changing my plan. I have never had such a problem with the sugar cravings before. ..........an after thought, maybe its time to bump up my carbs a bit, and add some fruit. Ive been doing atkins induction for a bit too long.

I hope everyone has a great Valentines Day.....Tammy, sounds like your hubby is a real sweatheart I teared up reading about your book.

Angry Good Morning You Early Birds & Those To Come !!

Happy Valentine Day to my wonderful chickie friends !!

And leave those peanut butter eggs alone !! But let's see, if ya'll cut them in half that's only 4.5......

We are WOMAN, we will be strong !!

Sorry been MIA lately. Things have been soooooo crazy the last couple of weeks. Much too detailed to go into. But as usual I've been made out to be the badguy with dh's ex and his kids. Fortunately dh is defending me! His ex & son informed me that I have no "place" allowing DIL to confide in me as I'm not "blood"!
Definately hurt my feelings. Seems I'm allowed to support them, be grandma, etc., but they seem to define what other "place" I hold.

Hope everyone is doing well. Was looking forward to some me time this weekend cause dh and sons were to go to deer lease, but with 80% chance of rain it's looking unlikely!

Doctor visit this morning but hope to pop back in later!

Have a special day - you're worth it!

Default Good Chilly Morning all :)

We're preparing for a bit of an ice/snow storm this weekend in Virginia. Brrrr.....time to snuggle Anyway, my hubby and I usually inhale several bags of the Necco Conversation hearts during this season.....BUT, not this year. Not a bag has been bought! DH is doing this with me, although he weighs a whopping 180 It's still much easier that he is supporting me in this effort. My 5 year old brought home tons of candy yesterday from preschool, yep, including conversation hearts....not ONE passed my lips....I'm quite proud of that. Anyway, just thought I'd share....good luck getting through the day

I got a thermos for Valentines day. Let's just say romance isn't something my dh knows about--he is ever practical. His rationalization for this was that I can put hot things in it and take them to work. I told him we have a coffee maker, cups and a microwave. I know it's the thought, but sheeeeeesh!!! I mean what did he figure that I was doing with the frozen dinners I took--sit on them for 12 hours?

He got a picture of us when we were dating in a beautiful pewter frame with embedded red hearts in it from me and a mug saying "world's best daddy" filled with chocolates from Miree. He loved them and I'm glad.

I haven't had chocolate today and I'm not planning on having any. M's chocolates are in her treat cupboard and dh's chocolates went to work with him.

Anyhoo, hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! DH and I aren't exchanging gifts, so he's just getting a card. We did buy a picture to go over our mantle, so that's the offical gift. Maybe I'll make him cookies tonight. I'm wearing my new Victoria Secret "conversation hearts" string bikini, but with this cold it's not such a romantic picture.

Kids are all down for an early nap and I have 10 minutes before I start hiding choclate hearts all over the house so I thought I would check in. I am sorry to say I have already cheated and it really does bring out the worst in me. I am SO MOODY when I eat sugar. My husband calls it the other me.
Pooky that is the sort of gift I used to get from hubby. We went to marriage counselling right after J was born and romantic issues were at the top of my list. In his mind a thermos would have been a great gift but I agree with you. He now has to make a concious effort (or calls my SIL to find out what I really want ).
Congrats on the willpower Virginia girl...send a little my way
Ruth I love the Michelin woman look. I went out for groceries last night and had on a turtleneck, two sweaters, and my winter coat. It was -26 plus windchill. I am sure I was a sight stripping of the layers at the store!
Robin I added strawberries and raspberries back into my WOE and it has helped. I was ready to fall off last week and decided it was better to slow things down than give up. I now have the berries and whipped cream every night for a snack and it has kept me OP until day(but that is my own doing!)
Hi to everyone else!
Back to preparing for the party!

Red face

OOPS--I CAVED IN TO THE CHOCOLATE!!!

I was doing soooo well today, I went to my grandmother's--then on to Wal*Mart met a friend and her little girl there--then on to the mall, we ate lunch at a chinese place--I had chicken with mushrooms--no breading-no rice-no noodles and veggies. Got home and laid down with queenie butt for a little snuggle and nap--got up when Alyssa got home from school--and BAM!! I ate a snack size pack of M&M's with peanuts, and a snack size snicker bar--WHAT THE H___ HAPPENED?? I'm not sure--I was totally coherent, and knew I was eating about 10000 carbs but...I did it anyway!

The problem with cheating like that is that now I think Since I srewed up--the wholed day may as well be a bust! I will have to be X-TRA careful about supper and snacking tonight--I hope I can do this without any more screw-ups!

Happy V-Day all!!

Hearts and hugs to all of you.
I totally forgot it was even V day until he came home with a bouquet of red roses. It was a real surprise. He said this guy was selling them from a van on the side of the road but I don't care where they came from. I'm just so touched that he got me anything.
Drizzling out there today but about 50F so can't complain. Lots of bloomage in the garden including snowdrops, primroses, pansies and heather and lots of green shoots popping out. Soon we will have daffies.
No weight loss this week but I've only been four days OP so I'm probably still working on last week's carb binge.
Wondering what conversation hearts are. Are those the old fashioned candy hearts with little sayings on them like Be Mine and Love You? I haven't seen them in years.
Hope you all have a very romantic, lovely day.

I love the bloomage posts! I can hardly wait for Spring. (Reminder to self: cut some forsythia branches to force.)

The back room is done and the downstairs is back in order! The floor looks absolutely fantastic! The upstairs bathroom will be started on Monday and should go faster although there IS plumbing to contend with!

It will be so nice to not have to get up early tomorrow because of workies coming! We do have to drive to town to pick out a vanity, sink and medicine cabinet but that should be a breeze. I've already scoped them out.

Roast lamb and a baked fennel recipe on tap for dinner.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.
